Nykera pulled up to the gas station and hopped out of her car before heading inside. She was heading to Essence's house because she finally agreed to hang out with her and the rest of the group. She was bored in the house and it was the weekend.

In Chicago, she was always out on weekends.

Her and her uncle still wasn't talking and she honestly hated it. She planned on having a conversation with him whenever she got home, that's if he was home.

She felt like he was acting childish and she should be the one holding the grudge if anything.

As she walked in the gas station, she noticed a group of men with dreads and ski masks in one corner. She shook her head immediately in regret.

"They just have to be here while I am.." She mumbled. She already knew somebody was gonna come up to her, considering the fact that she was the only lady in the gas station now.

She headed down the chips aisle looking for a few snacks she could take. She grabbed Hot Fries, Hot Cheeto Puffs, Snickers, Reece's, and a Brisk.

Once she was done, she went to the register where the old cashier was. She recognized him and he had a name tag so she decided to greet him. "Hey Mr.Grey," She smiled.

He took his attention off the boys and looked at her. Her smile made him smile. "Hey young one, I know you?"

"No I doubt it," Nykera chuckled. "This only my second time being here. But can I get 40 on pump 4. And then these snacks.."

She started to place all her items on the counter before digging in her purse so she could pay but before she even pulled her money out, somebody else beat her to it by slamming a 50 on the counter.

She slowly looked up and rolled her eyes at the sight of Nazhir. "I just can't avoid you?"

"Why would you wanna avoid me?" He chuckled grabbing the bag for her. She shook her head walking out as he followed her.

"I don't know but it's something about you that I don't trust.." Nykera told him truthfully, it was true. She felt like something was off about him. He was in Chicago popping up everywhere she was.. then in Charlotte popping up everywhere she was.

It was odd to her.

"I gave you a reason not to trust me already? Damn.." Nazhir trailed off. "Well whys that?"

"I don't know.." Nykera mumbled as she grabbed her bag from his hands, she threw it in her passenger seat before going to grab the gas tank but he beat her to it and started filling up her car.

"Well just tell me this Nazhir.." He chuckled at the way his name rolled off her tongue. "Why you in North Carolina? Charlotte to be exact? It's like you everywhere I am."

"I already told you Nykera.. business," He said with a shrug. "I can't exactly disclose witchu what typa of business I do but you from Chicago so you could prolly guess."

"Mm.. whatever," She mumbled getting into her car, but leaving the door open so she could still chat with him.

Soon he finished filling up her tank. He closed it before putting the rope back and he walked over to her, leaning against the car.

"This jawn nice.." He complimented.

"Thank you," She dryly said.

"So can I getcha number now?" He asked and she sighed heavily. "Cmon now, stop playin hard to get. What, I'm ugly assum?"

"No you not ugly Nazhir," She told him. He was actually very handsome to her. "But I already gave you my instagram! Shouldn't that be enough for you?"

"Bruh youn text backkk," He dragged with a laugh making her also laugh.

"Okay okay you're right.." She gave in. She was hardly on instagram unless she was posting a new picture. "I guess you can have my number."

Nykera had been stingy with her number, especially after she changed it. She didn't want any new contacts that weren't going to be in her life for long. She didn't want any randoms calling.

Nazhir handed his phone over to her with a smirk. Rolling her eyes, she began to type her number in. Once she was done, she handed it back to him.

"Don't call. Text first," She said and before he could say anything, her car door was already shut. She chuckled starting her car before she sped off..

"Nykera why you so quiet?" Maliya sat on Damauri's lap with a smirk as she looked at Nykera.

Nykera slowly looked up from her phone and noticed the petty look she was giving her and chuckled.

She knew Maliya was trying to make her feel some kind of way after she found out her and Damauri had been texting. But that was what Maliya didn't understand, Nykera didn't want Damauri.

If anything, it was the other way around.

"I'm coolin.." Nykera shrugged throwing a hot fry in her mouth. She looked over at Essence who was on the right of her paying attention to the TV. Then at Kee who was playing Uno with Nana and Marco.

"Mhm. Can I get some of ya chips?" Maliya asked and Nykera immediately scrunched her face up.

"Um hell no," She told her before the room erupted in laughter. She didn't even mean to be funny but she just didn't like sharing food. Especially with somebody she didn't know.

As soon as the room died down Maliya decided to speak again.. "It's not even that fucking funny."

"I wasn't trying to be funny, ian even laughing. I just don't share my food," Nykera shrugged.

"Girl you poured some of yo drink for Kee. Wannabe ass germaphobe. Get the fuck.." Maliya waved her off, now angry.

Damauri whispered in her ear for her to chill but she of course ignored him.

"Girl how you mad cause I don't wanna share my food.. did you forget it's mine? And I paid for it. If you wanted sum it wasn't nun to cashapp me. Everybody knew I was at the gas station," Nykera stated making her go quiet.

"Ion know why you keep tryna pick problems and shit. Cause if there is one we can most definitely solve that shit. Fuck you mean," She mugged, now starting to get irritated.

Maliya always started with her for little shit and she was tired of it. She didn't take that shit from anyone, now that they weren't at school she had the opportunity to say and do whatever she wanted.

"Girl it's no problem, just the fact that yo thirsty ass always texting my nigga.." Maliya nonchalantly said with a shrug. At this point everyone was paying attention to the conversation.

"Girl we are friends. Right Damauri?" Nykera looked at him for confirmation and he nodded. "Exactly so stop being so insecure all the time. Nobody is worried about you and that fucked up ass relationship."

"Weird ass bitch.." She added making Essence put her hand on her shoulder.

"Calm down.." Essence whispered. "I don't want a fight to break out in my house, my momma downstairs.."

"I'm not gon fight this bitch," Nykera reassured her. "From them fight videos Kee showed me, I'm already knowin I might end up killing her weak ass."

"Baby ass punches she be throwing girl fight witcho chest.." She chuckled.

Maliya only glared at her feeling her eyes start to water.

"Alright that's enough Nykera.." Kee mumbled.

"Damn right that's enough. Matter fact lemme go, just looking at this ugly bitch pisses me off," Nykera stood up grabbing her purse and bag of food. "You really do need yo hair did.. lace where? Everywhere, shit."

"Alright yall ima go.." Nykera waved before walking out the house not even caring to hear what anybody else had to say..

"My uncle finally here?" Nykera popped her head into Sammy and Seven's room. Sammy looked up from her laptop and nodded.

"Yeah, he's in his office," She told her and Nykera nodded before knocking on the next door.

"Unc Unc?" She said in a kiddy voice.

It took him a while but he soon replied, "Come in."

She slowly opened the door and walked in seeing her uncle sat down in front of his desk writing on a few pieces of paper.

"I'm tired of you ignoring me like I did something wrong.." Nykera started going to take a seat across from him.

"You didn't," He told her, still not looking up. "I know I was in the wrong."

"Then why you keep avoiding me?" She asked with her head tilted making him sigh as he looked up.

"I'm sorry for tryna hit you.. what you said been fucking with me and ian know how to come up to you and apologize like a real man.." He admitted, surprising Nykera. "And in all honesty, I thought you was ignoring me. Every-time I was home, you wasn't. Or you was in yo room playing loud music with the door locked."

"Mmcht that's not true unc.. everytime I was home, you wasn't. I thought you was tryna escape from me and stuff. It made me feel really bad," She told him making him smile a little. "I accept your apology and I'm sorry for cussing you out and stuff."

"Yeah you was treatin' my ass," He mumbled making her laugh out loud.

"Ian go as hard as I wanted to to be honest," She shrugged with a smile as she stood up. "But ima let you work." And with that she walked out.

She walked back to her room with a wide grin, happy that her and her uncle were finally back on good terms. When she entered her room, she plopped down on her bed letting out a deep sigh.

Her eyes quickly started to get heavy but, before she could even drift off, her phone started ringing.

She grabbed it and furrowed her eyebrows at the name. She still decided to answer.

"This a prepaid collect call fromβ€” Yo mama bitch," She heard Tyrone's voice making her heart drop to her ass. Why was he calling her now?

Hesitantly, she looked down at the phone debating on if she wanted to answer or not. For some reason, she decided to. She wanted to see what he wanted.

"Hello?" She spoke quietly.

"Why you speaking all low and shit?" Tyrone lowly chuckled. His voice was way deeper from when Nykera last saw him and it frightened her.

"What you calling me for?" She mumbled.

"Where my baby Nykera?" Once he said that her heart beat increased and she immediately hung up. She held her hand over her chest as her breathing hitched from being so scared.

"Oh my gosh.." She whispered. How did he know?
