"Kai cmon hurry up." I looked at him as he looked at hisself in the mirror.

"Ma my hair." He frowned.

"Kai.. it's never that serious let's go damn." I rolled my eyes grabbing him and throwing him over my shoulder.

He groaned loudly as I walked out the house and locked the door behind me.

I walked to the car and unlocked it before putting him in his car seat and buckling him in then headed in the front.

"You know what you want when we get there?" I asked him.

"Icecream."

"Besides icecream." I rolled my eyes.

"Cupcakes."

"Besides sweets."

"Fwert snakes."

"Fruit what?" I laughed.

"Fwert snakes." He repeated.

"It's fruit snacks Kai.." I chuckled.

He didn't reply. When I looked back I seen that he had fell asleep.

I shook my head and grabbed my phone and set the camera up FaceTiming Lando..

After about 4 rings he answered.

"Wassup." He said.

"Hey. Why am I looking at the ceiling right now?" I asked.

"I'm doing sum, wait a quick minute." He said and I nodded.

"What you do today?" I said.

"Business. Ian gon let you in too much." He chuckled and I laughed sarcastically.

"Mhm.." I eyed the camera before looking back at the road.

"Where you going? And where's Kai?" He asked. I looked back at the camera seeing him staring right at me.

"Walmart to get some stuff to cook. Kai in the back sleep." I said and he nodded.

"Where the boys?" I asked.

"Shiii." He scratched his neck looking away. "They on they own type shit right now."

I laughed.

After about 10 of us talking, I arrived at Walmart.

"I'll call you later.." I told Lando unbuckling my seatbelt.

"Ight coo. Call me when you cooking." He said and I nodded then hung up.

"Kai." I said opening his car door.

"Not even gon try waking him up.." I mumbled unbuckling him and picking him up, he laid his head on my shoulder.

I grabbed my purse and phone before walking to the entrance.

"Yo wassup ma." I heard someone say from behind me. I ignored the person and kept walking.

"Damn, she must have an attitude.." I heard another voice say.

"Forreal." A bunch of other people said.

I rolled my eyes entering the store and grabbing a cart.

"Bums." I mumbled.

"Yo." I heard the person say again.

I turned around and mugged him.

"You need sum?" I said irritated.

"Yeah. I need your number." He smirked licking his lips.

Ew..

"Nah I'm cool." I shook my head turning back around before he grabbing my arm making me slap him with free hand.

"Bitch don't fucking touch me! Don't you see I got my son right here!" I slightly raised my voice.

"Bitch fuck you, yo ass ugly anyways. You boujee for no reason, big fat ass." He mugged me.

"Suck my dick. And back the fuck up, stank ass breath, hoe I'll punch the fuck out you li bitch." I said and all his friends in the back laughed and instigated the argument more.

I turned back around and started to walk away before feeling a light pull on my hair then a quick breeze behind me.

I turned around AGAIN and saw Dee on top of the man beating his ass.

Sigh.. always got niggas fighting for me.

I backed up so me and Kai wouldn't get hurt and just stood there and watched until one of the guy's friend broke it up.

Dee stood up and brushed over his closed with his hands as if nothing happened.

"You good?" I chuckled.

"Fasho." He nodded.

"Wait.. ain't you supposed to be in ATL with Lando and nem.." I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Who's and em?" He made the same facial expression I had on.

"Lando,Trell, Zy.." I mugged him as if he was stupid.

He stared at me blankly before his jaw dropped.

"Ohhhhh. Yeah.." He started picking with his hair.

He finna lie.

"I was there but I had to come back because something had happened with Zarra." He said and I slowly nodded.

"I know you lying.. and tell yo bitch to pay me too or else I'm whooping her ass." I said pointing my finger at him before walking away.

I felt Kai moving around and when I looked at him he was wide awake.

"You okay?" I asked him. He looked at me and nodded. I put him down and the cart and continued walking.

As I was walking I felt a tap on my shoulder causing me to stop and turn around.

"You dropped your purse." A girl said holding it and giving me a tight smile.

"Oh thank you.." I looked her up and down and she mugged me. I mugged her right back and snatched my purse.

"Bitc-"

"Aht." I held my finger up turning around.

"I know this bitch did not.." She laughed as I walked away. Kai laughed too.

"What's funny?" I looked at him. He immediately stopped laughing.

I went into the snacks area and grabbed some fruit snacks and different kinds of chips throwing it in the cart.

Kai grabbed one of them, He bit it open and started eating them.

"Really Kai?" I rolled my eyes and snatched it from him taking some for myself.

"Maaaaa." He whined when I didn't give it back. He started crying when I handed him the wrapper.

"Okay Kaiser shush." I said grabbing another one and handing it to him.

"Tanks." He smiled biting it open and I laughed and shook my head.

I went to another aisle and saw the same girl who gave me my purse.

She eyed me and I blankly stared at her, she then mugged me and I stuck up the middle finger.

I grabbed what I needed and started walking down to aisle to get to the bread place.

"Excuse me sir.." I walked passed her.

"Your excused miss potato head. And it's China to you.." She rolled her eyes.

"It's Jayla to you.." I said.

"If you wanna be friends just say that." She stared at me nonchalantly.

"Why would I wanna be friends?" I laughed.

"Girl fuck you.. anywho.. what's this?" She looked at Kai.

"You mean who's this.. does he look like a what to you?" I chuckled.

"Shut up. Anyways what's your name.." She asked bending over the cart. Kai looked at her as he chewed a handful of fruit snacks.

"Kaiser.." He mumbled.

"How old are you?"

"...300." He said and I laughed giving him a high five.

"He looks about one.. is he?" China looked at me.

"He's 36 months.." I said.

"So he's three.. got it." She nodded grabbing a fruit snack from our box and I looked at her crazy.

"What? I'm hungry too." She shrugged ripping it open.

"Lemme see your phone real quick." She said. When I didn't give it to her she snatched it out my back pocket.

I made a face..

"Damn I look cute.." She mumbled snapping pictures of herself.

She then put my phone in my face and it unlocked, she went to my contacts and added herself before calling it then hung up, then she put my phone back in my back pocket.

"Toodles.." She walked away.

"Pidd, already making friends. Finna do that more often.." I heard her mumble as she walked to a different place. My eyes followed her until I couldn't see her anymore.

"Well that was.. weird." I shook my head..

Kai nodded in a agreement as if he understood what happened..

I was making pasta when I heard my phone ringing.. I ignored it but the person only called again.

"Kai, pass me my phone." I said.

"Where?" He looked at me.

I pointed at my phone which was right beside him and he grabbed it and slowly got off the couch then ran to me handing me my phone.

I saw that it was Nari so I answered.

"Hello?" I said.

"Jayla.." She said and I heard that she was crying.

"What happened?" I asked.

"It's Destiny.. she got in a bad car accident.." She cried.

I turned the stove off and quickly went in my room.

"How? When? And where you at?" I said grabbing some clothes from in my closet.

"At the hospital.. they won't let me see her yet. And I don't know.. she was going somewhere, then not even 30 minutes later hella people were calling me. She was only about 8 minutes away from the house." Nari explained.

"Ion understand shit you just said but okay Nari, we coming.." I said then hung up.

"KAI!" I called out.

He didn't answer.

"KAISER!" I yelled poking my head out the room.

"Ma?" He looked away from the TV and at me.

"Come." I said going back in the room and in my closet.

I packed my stuff and Kaiser's after and when I was done I got him ready. After doing all that I packed all our stuff in the car..

"Kai you okay?" I asked looking back at him. He was on his iPad.

"Yeah." He nodded.

I nodded and started the car but then turned it off and got on my phone tryna figure out how ima get a flight to ATL..

𝐀𝐭𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚, 𝐆𝐞𝗼𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐚

I walked in the waiting room with Kai sleeping on my shoulder and spotted Nari.

"They let you see her yet?" I asked standing in front of her.

She looked up at me and shook her head. I could tell she was stressed, she had eye bags and they were also puffy and red.

I sat down next to her and rubbed her back.

"She'll be good.." I tried to assure her even though I wasn't so positive myself.

She only nodded.

About 10 minutes later a doctor came out.

"Family of Destiny Brown." He said and me and Nari instantly stood up.

He nodded and walked towards us.

"So Ms.Brown is okay. She just got out of surgery. I'm Doctor Grey by the way.. but unfortunately you guys can't see her quite yet." The doctor said.

"What?!" Nari yelled.

"The fuck you mean we can't see her? She's out of surgery so why can't we?" I mugged him.

"I can't give too much information, that's just what I was told.." He said scratching his neck.

"Bro what? Aren't you the doctor? I wanna see my sister now!" I said looking at him like he was dumb.

"You will, you will. You guys can see her soon.. just not right now." He said.

I groaned loudly as I sat back down and he walked away. Nari also sat down.

"Can they even do that? That don't make no damn sense!" Nari said.

"Forreal.." I shook my head.

After a moment of silence I spoke up again.

"Where's Skyler?" I asked.

"I think she's at home.. or work." Nari said.

"Why she not here?" I said.

Nari stayed quiet before shrugging. ".. I didn't tell her Destiny was here so that's prolly why.."

I stared at her before shaking my head and getting up.

"Where you going?" She looked at me.

"There's something y'all not telling me and ion like that.. I'm just finna go clear my head." I said before walking out..
