WHILE THE OTHERS WERE busy explaining things to Jenna and dealing with it, Emery was sitting in the Mystic grill in a corner with her copybook and books spreaded in front of her on the table. She had a lot of homeworks to do and she didn't want to go home.

The witch was writing down some answers when Damon walked in the bar, and Alaric followed by shortly after. She ignored them.

She figured that something must have gone wrong considering that they both looked broody as hell but then again, that was none of her problem. With narrowed eyes, she returned her full attention to her homeworks.

"The answer is actually 1980's." An unfamiliar voice spoke up, the British accent could clearly be heard. Emery looked up, realising that a man had been standing by her tableβ€”she didn't know for how longβ€” but she hasn't noticed for she was too focused on her work.

She allowed herself to stare at him because why not? she thought. Emery thought he was pretty with his dirty blonde hair and a face that would scream innocence but really, he wasn't. No, not really.

"For which one?" She asked once she had snapped out of her daze.

"Chernobyl Disaster, love."

"Well, what did I putβ€”" Emery cut herself off when she looked down at her work only to see that she had written 1970, "I knew the answer. I just wrote it wrong."

"Yes, of course." He nodded, smirking in amusement. Emery shook her head, correcting the answer, "no, I'm serious. Who are you, anyway?"

"Klaus." He said with a proud grin and watched as realisation crossed her features, "pleasure to meet you."

"You're the Klaus who wants to kill Elena or am I wrong?"

"What? Noβ€”" Klaus shook his head, faking a look of horror, "β€” this Klaus guy sounds bad. Why does he want to kill this Elena person? Did you try calling the police?"

She let out a sarcastic laugh, "you're very funny."

He smirked at her, biting his lower lip to prevent a smile from breaking onto his face. He was amused. "I know right."

"Why are you here?" She asked to which Klaus pointed in the direction of Damon and Alaric who were both unaware of his presence, "need to exchange a few words with them."

"Have fun doing that," she gathered her things and placed them into her bag as she stood up, "you would have needed an aspirin later if you were human."

"Where are you going?"

"Why do you want to know?" She raised her brows, "so you could follow me and kill me?"

"Just curious," he replied with a small grin lingering on his lips. The girl did amuse him, she really did. He was not going to deny that.

"I'm just going for a walk around the wickery bridge," she replied, not seeing why she shouldn't tell him. Granted, he was supposedly the bad guy but if Emery had to be honest, she didn't really feel threatened by him.

He narrowed his eyes at her, giving her a curt nod, "have fun doing that."

"Of course," she flashed him a small smile in an attempt to be nice, "I'll see you around, bye." With that, she walked out of the grill.

Klaus's lips twitched up as he stared at the girl's retreating figure. He then turned his attention to Damon and Alaric before making his way towards them, "gentlemen, why so glum?"

"Ughβ€”" Damon groaned, placing his glass on the table, "Klaus, I presume."

"In the flesh," Klaus smirked, looking at Alaric, "thanks for the loaner, mate."

Damon stood up angrily but he kept his tone down, "any reason you stopped by to say hi?"

"I'm told you and your brother fancy my doppelgΓ€nger," Klaus spoke, "Just thought I'd remind you to not do anything you'll regret."

Damon broke into a smile at the comment, "ha. Thanks for the advice. I don't suppose I could talk you into a postponement, by any chance, huh?"

"You're kidding," Klaus glanced at Alaric, "he is kidding, right?"

Alaric clicked his tongue and shook his head, "no, not really."

"I mean, come on," Damon said, "what's one month in the whole grand scheme of things?"

"Let me be clearβ€”" Klaus began, starting to get annoyed at the older Salvatore, "β€” I have my vampire. I have my werewolf. I have everything I need. The ritual will happen tonight. So if you want to live to see tomorrow, don't screw it up." He turned to leave but stopped and turned back around to look at them, "oh, and if you're planning on doing anything despite my words, think about pretty little Emery. Wouldn't want anything to happen to her, would we?"

Damon clenched his jaw at his last words but did not get the time to say anything as Klaus was already out of the door by then.

"That was fun," Damon mumbled as Alaric gave him a knowing look, "you're going to screw it up, aren't you?"

"You think if I took his werewolf out of the equation, she mightβ€”" Damon paused, "β€” get over the fact that I tried to turn her into a vampire?"

"I think she'll be pissed because Klaus said if you mess it up, he'll go after Emery," Alaric spoke, not exactly wanting to do anything that could put the girl in danger, "but really, I think it won't matter, because you'll be dead."

Damon shot Alaric a smile, dismissing his words, "are you gonna help me or not?"
