"HE KILLED HIM," Matt whispered in shock as he stared at Tyler's dead body.

"He's not dead," Elena muttered, "Klaus' blood will turn him into a vampire."

"And if Bonnie's successful, he'll live through his transition," Klaus spoke up from behind them. He jumped off the bleaches where he was sitting beside Emery and Rebekah, walking up to them. He turned to the Bennett witch, "go on, then. Go and fetch your grimoires and enchantments and what-not. I'll hold on to Elenaβ€” for safe-keeping."

Bonnie stared at Elena who gave her a small nod before she finally left with Matt. Rebekah joined her brother, standing in front of Elena, "so this is the latest doppelgΓ€nger. The original one was much prettier."

"Enough, Rebekah," Klaus muttered, pointing towards Tyler, "take the wolf boy elsewhere, would you?"

Rebekah flashed Elena a sarcastic smile before she went to grab Tyler, dragging him behind her by his arm as she walked out of the door. Klaus looked at Elena, "just ignore her. Petty little thing."

Klaus then made his way back to the bleaches where Emery was still sitting, her head hurting more than it was earlier. She had her knees pulled up against her chest, her head resting against the side of a bench. He sat down next to her.

"Caroline's gonna be devastated if Tyler doesn't make it," she spoke up making him tilt his head to look at her. "What about you? Wasn't he your friend?"

"Maybe," she shrugged, "we weren't that close."

"Good," he mumbled earning a small sigh from her. Just then, Stefan entered the gym. Klaus smirked, "come to save your damsel, mate?"

"I came to ask for your forgiveness," Stefan replied with a slow shake of his head, "and pledge my loyalty."

"Well, you broke that pledge once already."

"Elena means nothing to me anymore. And whatever you ask of meβ€”" Stefan glanced at Elena, "I will do."

"Fair enough," Klaus muttered with a nod. He stood up, walking over to Chad and Dana, "let's drink on it." Then he pointed to the two teenagers, "kill them."

Emery's attention perked up at that, "wait, what?"

Stefan seemed to be hesitant. Klaus didn't bother looking at her as he said, clenching his jaw at the vanpire, "what are you waiting for? Kill them."

"No! Stefan, don't. He's not going to hurt me. He already saidβ€”" Elena was cut off when Klaus approached her and backhanded her so hard that she fell on the floor. Emery's eyes widened at the action, feeling her heartbeat pick up.

Stefan rushed over to Klaus, his fangs out but the hybrid grabbed him by the throat and tilted his head to the side as he spit, "she means nothing to you? Your lies just keep piling up."

"Let her go!" Stefan exclaimed, "I'll do whatever you want, you have my word!"

"Your word doesn't mean much. I lived by your word all summer, during which time I never had to resort to thisβ€”" Klaus paused, staring right into Stefan's eyes, compelling him, "stop fighting."

"Don't do this," Stefan pleaded, shaking his head, "don't do this."

"I didn't want to," Klaus muttered, "all I wanted was your allegiance. Now I'm going to have to take it."

"Don'tβ€”" Stefan begged, "don't."

But Klaus wasn't having any of it as he went on with his compulsion, "you will do exactly as I say when I say it. You will not run, you will not hide, you will simply just obey." He then let go of his neck and took a step away while Emery made her way down from the bleaches.

"No, Stefan!" Elena cried out as Klaus smirked, "now kill them, Ripper."

Emery grabbed the hybrid's arm, turning him to face him, "don't do this, they're innocent."

"I have to," he said simply, ignoring the look she was sending him. "I have a point to make."

"Fuck your point, they're justβ€”" the witch was cut off by him. He removed her hand from his arm and grabbed hers instead, turning her to face the teenagers, "β€” shh. Stop talking and watch the show. Don't close your eyes."

"Whatβ€”" she paused, confused by his sudden action. "You sick twisted motherfucking piece of shit," she muttered under her breath as she realised that he wanted her to really watch.

Not wanting Elena to see her as a weakness or someone he's grown to care about, he ignored her words and reluctantly held her still, forcing her to watch as Stefan vamp-sped over to Dana and bit into her neck, draining her of her blood.

"Stop," Emery whispered to Klaus as she tried to turn around to look at him but he held her still, "what's gotten into you?"

He didn't want Elena to suspect anything, he realised that she was when he caught her staring at them earlier and he was not going to make the same mistake.

Again, he ignored Emery, pretending like he didn't hear. Stefan moved on to Chad, he began feeding into him as well. Klaus held Emery still, "it's always nice to see a vampire in his true element. The species has become such a broody lot."

"Let go of me."

"No," Elena turned to him, anger filled in her eyes, "you did this to him."

"I invited him to the party, love," Klaus smiled, "he's the one dancing on the table."

Emery gritted her teeth in annoyance and she finally regained enough strength to shrug Klaus's hand off her, getting away from his hold. "What the hell is wrong with you?" She frowned at him, holding frustration in her stare. Before Klaus could reply, she stepped closer, "you know what? I don't care but don't ever touch me again."

Before Klaus could say anything, Rebekah barged in the place, rushing over to Elena, "where is it? Where's my necklace?"

"What are you talking about?"

"She has my necklace," Rebekah informed, showing him the picture of Elena with her necklace around her neck on a phone, "look."

"Well, well," Klaus muttered, glancing at Emery briefly, "more lies."

"Where is it?" Rebekah asked to which Elena reply, "I don't have it anymore."

"You're lying!" Rebekah exclaimed before vamping out and biting Elena's neck. Before she could get any further, Klaus stopped her, "knock it off!"

"Make her tell me where it is, Nik!" Rebekah shouted as Emery rushed over to Elena who was holding her neck with tears in her eyes.

"Where's the necklace, sweetheart?" Klaus asked, bending down to their level. He pretended to be unbothered by the glare the witch was sending him as he stared at the doppleganger, "be honest."

"I'm telling the truth," Elena responded, "Katherine stole it."

"Katerina," Klaus sighed, "of course. Well, that's unfortunate. If we had the necklace it would make things a whole lot easier for your witch, but since we're doing this the hard way, let's put a clock on it, shall we?"

He walked over and put on the clock, a buzzer sound echoed in the room when the clock appeared on the board. He walked towards Stefan and began compelling him, "Twenty minutes. If Bonnie hasn't found a solution by then, I want you to feed again. Only this time, I want you to feed on Elena. You know you want to."

"No, Klaus!" Elena begged, "don't do this to him!"

'You mean, don't do this to you,' Emery was going to say but she held herself back, knowing it wasn't a good time.

"No one leaves," Klaus added, "if she tries to run, fracture her spine."

"Wait," Elena furrowed her brows, grabbing her sister's hand, "what about Emery?"

"What do you mean?" Rebekah approached the two girls. She bent down slightly and grabbed Emery's hand, lifting her back on her feet, the witch didn't say anything. She had nothing against Rebekah, if anything, she liked her. "She's coming with us, of course."

"Emery, what?" Elena stared at the witch in shock, "you're not going to stay here and help?"

"Sorry, I'm going to be useless in here," she repeated Elena's words, "this is more of a couple thing. I don't wanna third wheel or anything."

"Jenna would be so disappointed in you," Elena let out which earned her a scoff from her. "You're the reason she's even dead in the first place and now you're hanging out with her murderer. Just wow, Emery. I knew you were crazy but not that much."

Emery clenched her jaw as she bent down to Elena's level, her hands going around the doppleganger's throat but she wasn't squeezing. Her hand was burning Elena's skin making her shut her eyes and hiss in pain as the witch began to speak, "she would've been alive if not for your stupid little crush on Stefan so don't even try to pin this on me, understood? Everything that's happening? It's all your fucking fault."

She then harshly pushed her away and stood up before walking out of the door, ignoring the looks she was receiving.
