BOTH KLAUS AND STEFAN ended up sitting next to Emery as they waited for Ray to wake up while everyone was looking down at them.

"It's fascinating, actually," Klaus began, "a werewolf who isn't beholden to the moon, a vampire who doesn't burn in the sun. A true hybrid." Just then, Ray let out a couch and woke up making Klaus smirk, "excellent timing, Ray. Very dramatic."

"What's happening to me?" Ray asked as Klaus looked at the ripper, "Stefan?"

Stefan sighed and stood up, "aare any of you human? Your friend here needs human blood to complete his transition to vampire. If he doesn't get it, he will die."

"Doesn't take much, just a sip." Klaus added, "Anyone? A boyfriend, a girlfriend, along for the ride?"

"The girl is human," a woman pointed out, her eyes on Emery who visibly stiffen at the suggestion. Klaus bit his lip, smirking at the woman before pointing to a man, "but so is he."

He vamp-sped over to him and bit his forearm. Stefan grabbed him, threw him on the ground in front of Ray, ignoring the protestations of the woman.

"If you don't drink it, Ray," Stefan turned to the man, "I will. Problem is I don't know how to stop."

Klaus looked at the girl, "it's the new order, sweetheart. You join us, or you die."

"I'd rather die than be a vampire." The girl retorted which made Klaus sigh, "wrong choice." He then fed her his blood while Ray drank the blood from the man. "She'll thank me for that later." Klaus muttered, referring to the girl as he snapped her neck, killing her. "Okay, who's next?"

Emery sat on the log and watched Klaus kill the werewolves after feeding them his blood. She couldn't help but think that something wrong was going to happen.

Klaus fed his blood to the human and compelled him, "there. Good as new. Now you relax, okay, mate? We're gonna need you when the rest of them wake up."

Ray was sitting on a rock nearby, grabbing his body and shivering, "They're dead. They're all dead."

"Ah, he's through his transition," Klaus informed, smiling at his great plan, "he should be feeling better soon."

"So is this your master plan?" Sfefan asked, "build an army of hybrid slaves?"

"No, not slaves. Soldiers, comrades."

"For what war?" Emery asked which had Klaus turning to look at her. His lips twitched up, "oh, you don't arm yourself after war has been declared, love. You build your army so big that no one ever dares pick a fight."

"What makes you so sure that they'll be loyal?" Stefan asked, his brows furrowing in curiosity.

"Well, it's not difficult to be loyal when you're on the winning team," Klaus mutteted, "that's something you'll learn once you shake that horribly depressive chip off your shoulder."

Stefan let out a humourless laugh,ย  "that's why you're, uh...you're keeping me around? To witness my attitude adjustment?"

"You'll know why I'm keeping you around when I've decided that I want you to know."

"What about Emery then?" Stefan asked, looking at the witch who was playing mindlessly with the bracelets on her wrist. Klaus followed his line of sight and slowly exhaled, "like I said, she's a witch."

"Cut me the bullshit, Klaus." Stefan clenched his jaw, making sure to keep his voice down, "you're a thousand years old vampire. I'm sure you know a lot of witches and you certainly don't need Emery so why is she here, huh?"

"I don't know," Klaus replied, turning his head to look at Stefan, "I guess I like having her around."

Emery's eyes fell on Ray who was shivering and whimpering in pain. She stood up and walked towards him, "hi."

"What..." He cleared his throat, looking up at her with confusion, his eyes holding visible pain, "what do you want?"

"Iโ€”," she shot him an apologetic look, "I just wanted to say that I'm sorry this is happening to you."

"You're helping him," Ray scoffed, "why would you be sorry?"

"I'm not helping him," she defended, "I'm just... tagging along with him."

"Isโ€” is tโ€“this suppโ€“osed tโ€“to haโ€“ppen?" Ray questioned, his voice cracking and shaking when he felt pain in his entire body. His eyes beginning to bleed which had Emery's lips part in shock as she called out, "Klaus? I think something's wrong."

The hybrid was quick to rush towards her. He stared at Ray's pale self and bleeding eyes and clenched his jaw.

"That shouldn't be happening, should it?" Stefan asked, also looking at Ray. Klaus refrained himself from rolling his eyes, "well, obviously."
