"I guess humans like to watch a little destruction. Sand castles, houses of cards, that's where they begin. Their great skills is their capacity to escalate."

I was still trying to process the fact that I'd actually kissed Tom Riddle. That I actually had a boyfriend now.

It was the boy who grew up to kill my parents.

I have such great taste in men. Truly.

Tom was right... I was a freaking psychopath.

My heart hadn't stopped pounding since the party had restarted and the dinner had begun. I was still trying to swallow the huge lump that had formed in my throat.

"You do know you're bleeding right?" Pandora muses, hand tracing the edge of my cheek lightly. Her brown eyes were tinted in concern but the smile on her face hadn't left her face.

"I'm happy for you." She whispers, taking me to the side to heal my bleeding face. "He looks at you like you're the only one in the room." She muses.

I look at her wide eyed. "I never knew." I admit and truly I hadn't. I didn't think Tom could learnย  to care for anyone other than himself and yet he was changing.

"That's because you aren't looking at him when he's staring at you and he's not looking at you when you're staring at him."

I instantly blush at being caught. "I don't stare." I try to defend myself and she rolls her eyes.

"Valentine darling... You look at him like he's the only one in your universe."

I sat beside Tom, trying not to look at him. My blush was intensifying with every single amused glance Tom was throwing my way.

I stuff some mashed potato in my mouth to stop myself from talking to him.

"Why are you avoiding me?" Tom looked like he wanted to laugh but he was physically restraining himself from doing so.

My mouth was full and I look at him my cheeks puffed out with food.

"You look like a chipmunk." He drawls.

I swallow hard, glaring at him. "Chipmunks are adorable thank you very much."

"They are also weak."

"YOU are weak."

"Your argument is idiotic"

"Like yourself." I snap and then I smile, realizing what he was doing by the smirk on his face. "Ha. Ha. Funny."

"You can never ignore confrontation." He shrugs. "It's one of your many many bad qualities."

I give him a sour look. "I'm going to get a drink." I smile at him. "Want one?" I ask him and he shrugs.

I get up and move to get us some drinks from the students that Slughorn had hired tonight as waiters and waitresses.

I smile up at the girl coming towards me. She gave me a smile too, handing me the single glass of butterbeer left on her tray.

"Thank you." I beam up at her and move to raise it to my lips to take a sip.

Someone slaps it out of my hands. I jump back head snapping up to see Tom. He looked enraged.

I tilt my head looking at him with confused, slightly annoyed eyes.

"It was poisoned." The words were spat out of his mouth. He draws me closer to him as if proximity would keep the evil bringers away.

"How did you know?" I breathe, paling slightly. My hand was soaked with butterbeer and I blink in surprise when Tom grips my wrist and brings it towards his face. This makes me have to step closer to him so he doesn't snap my wrist in half.

"Look at that..... I'm in Hell for a couple weeks and I miss all the fun." Abaddon grumbles in my head. I instantly brighten, smiling.

"You're back!!! You were gone for longer this time around." My tone was concerned. "Is everything alright?" I ask and he goes silent.

"After this whole party is through. I must speak with you about something."

This makes me worried. "You aren't leaving me forever are you?!" I panic and he laughs, calming me down instantly.

"Nothing of the sort my little human. I love you too much to be parted from you for eternity. Plus we are much more powerful when we are together."

"Is Abaddon back?" The whisper is directly in my ear and I shiver slightly, before I nod slowly at Tom's question.

"I do not like him. He is taking all your attention away from me."

This causes me to crack a smile. "You're my favourite demon Abaddon. No one can change that."

"Damn RIGHT I am!"

"It was S.M." Tom drawls and pulls out a crumpled piece of blue paper. "It was under my plate." He looked lethal in his rage.

I gaze up at Tom in shock. "I'm the person you care most for in the world?" My voice comes as a whisper.

He grits his teeth as if admitting such a thing made him weak. He doesn't agree but he doesn't disagree either. My eyes soften slightly and I hug him tightly, arms wrapping around his neck. "Thank you." I breathe.

"For you?" He drawls. "Always."

"Copying my exact words." My voice was amused and he smirks.

"Taking inspiration from them."

"No I'm pretty sure it's still copying." I laugh, stepping back.ย  "The tense is present though." I realize reading the note again.

"It just appeared under my plate. It wasn't there before."

"So that's how they appear everywhere." I scowl. "Do you still think it's Miranda? Or is it someone Miranda is working for?"

"She tried killing you."

"But she got past the protective barriers." I point out.

"Yes. Someone here...." Tom thinks, propping himself up against the juice bar Slughorn had set up for his guests. His finger went to his chin, deep in thought.

I wipe my hand with a handkerchief, staring at the burnt marks on my hand from the poison. "Holy shite. What was in my drink!?" I demand aghast.

Tom looked thoughtful. "It had no scent." He finally says and gazes at the burns with a hard look. The burns on my hand however started to turn a dark black. I stare at them silently. I'd seen burns like this before.

But where?

I racked my mind, brows scrunching up in thought as I tried to remember where I'd seen wounds like this.

My train of thought is interrupted by the shouts and screams that erupt from the hallway outside. Everyone goes silent until the door opening was suddenly engulfed in flames.

The screams got louder.

A note suddenly appears in my line of sight, popping out of nowhere.

Tom reads it over my shoulder and then before we could even begin to think what the hell this murdering asshole meant, the wall opposing up freaking explodes and a dragon bursts into Slughorn's office.

"A sense of humour in death threats are not appreciated." Tom sneers, lip curling.

"One day." I give Tom an annoyed look. "One stupid day. That's all I wanted. Just one day where no one was trying to kill us."

He looked at me in annoyance.

"Should we kill it?"

"Do you know how rare dragons are? And how hard they are to kill?" I drawl, starting to march up to the dragon.

"What's the plan?" Abby sighs, kicking off her heels, wand in hand as she siddles to my other side.

"Plan?" A voice calls.

Grindelwald and his men stroll from behind the damn dragon, looking extremely smug. "The plan is surrender and die." He giggles, mismatched eyes and pale platinum hair making him look even more mental than he was.

"I also want my daughter back." He scowls.

"Why? So you can embrace your vampire tendencies?" I snarl, glaring at him.

"YES!!!! I'VE BEEN WANTING TO KILL SOME PEOPLE FOR SO LONG NOW!!!" Abaddon screeches in my head.

"Did you know this was going to happen?" I ask my demon dryly.

"No!!!! But this is a HELL of a welcome!! Did you see what I did there? Hell!?? Cause I'm a demon!?" He cackles in his laughter, making me chuckle.

Grindelwald looked appalled. "I have no idea what you are talking about my dear." He grins and then his voice takes on a deeper tone.

"Kill them all."

"Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love."
