8 years later

Y/n's POV

"Are we going together princess?" Tetsuro asks, he comes up behind me and wraps his arms lovingly around my waist as he breathes in my perfume.

"No, did you forget that It's my day off today?" I replied, turning around I leaned my back on the kitchen counter and faced the man who I called my fiancé, "I still have to meet up with Aiko, and you're late Tetsu, you should get going."

He chuckles before kissing my cheek and he backs away and walks out of the kitchen, "I'll see you later Y/n."

"Go slow when you're driving, Tetsuro." I warn him because of how many times he had almost crashed our car and it was many times that I could count.

Tetsuro was still the man I knew back in high school, the only difference now is that he was my fiancé, and we are living in the same roof still loving each other as if we were still our high school selves.

"Yes Mrs. Kuroo." He replies and he pops his head on the entrance of the kitchen, he then sends a wink on my way making me smile at his dumbness.

I shoo him away signaling him to hurry up which he did, while he takes all of his stuff that was work related I got out of the kitchen, walking to the living room to grab my coat which I wore.

"I'm going, princess." He says before placing a small peck on my lips and my forehead, I said my goodbye's at him and he finally leaves our house with a smile.

I sighed noticing that the house was silent again, my life has been better after we both called it official, he was the best boyfriend I could ever have, he respected my boundaries, I respected his, moments with Tetsuro was unique and different every day, and nothing can describe the feeling I always feel whenever I'm with him.

8 years, 8 years of non stop love for each other is almost too crazy to think about, and now a few weeks later he will be calling me his wife and I will be calling him my husband. Yes we have been separated when we were in collage but we still managed to communicate like we did normally, we had our busy days but we managed to understand each other.

And yes we do fight, we fight very much but our relationship is mostly filled with fluff.

I now grabbed my purse to get ready for work I looked myself in the mirror one more time before finally deciding to head out.

I locked the door of our house before finally walking myself to my car, entering after placing my purse on the passenger seat, putting on my seatbelt before finally driving my car away from my residence and now going to where Aiko and I planned to meet up at.

Time skip

Getting out of my car I instantly looked for Aiko at the café, and then I finally spot a familiar girl scrolling on her phone as she waits outside while sitting on the outside table.

"Aiko." I called out while approaching my long time best friend who I don't get to see a lot.

She looks up from her phone with glee, she stands up from her seat and opens her arms to welcome me in a hug. I chuckled as her grip tightens around me, she then backs away with a big smile.

"First of all, congrats on your engagement!" She tells me with a smile, "Thank you Aiko." I reply with a small smile as well.

"And second of all I'm so glad we could finally see each other." Aiko says with excitement as we both take our seat on the table.

"I am too, it's sad that me and Tetsu moved here in miyagi." I tell her, she then pouts before telling me that she already ordered for the both of us, she knew what I was going to order so I just let it slide.

"Well you both needed to move here since your and Tetsuro's job is in miyagi." She says in a much more sense, I nodded at her statement, "You should be thankful that I chose to have my vacation here."

"I am, that's why you're going to be my bridesmaid." I say with a very sweet smile at her which she rolls her eyes at.

"Oh please, that smile is much more faker than my students." Aiko became a professor at a private university back in tokyo, and Yamazaki well her 1 year husband has chosen to be a lawyer, the both of them have very little time for each other and I salute them for understanding each other too.

I laughed at what she just said, "So how are you and Yamazaki? Are you both expecting a baby yet?"

She chokes on her saliva before looking at me with slightly wide eyes.

"No we're not, child of satan." She replies as a joke before shaking her head, "By the way."

I raise my eyebrow at her and then at the same time the waiter comes in and brought both of our deserts and coffee on the table he then leaves with a smile.

"Doesn't Samarara live around here?" She asks in a serious tone but I can't help but take it as a joke at her mistake, again.

"It's been 8 years, Aiko. For the love of God." I tell her with a glare and she just shrugs it off before signaling me to answer her question.

"Yeah I know about that, but it's been a long time since it happened. I'm pretty sure he got over it and I got over it." I explain to her, taking a sip of my coffee before trying again, "And plus it happened a long time ago, we were still kids."

Aiko hums at my reply before taking a bite on her desert, "I'm happy for you and Tetsuro."

Time skip

After talking to Aiko, catching up on things we didn't have time to tell to at each other, telling secrets and things that happened to other people, also news to our jobs and what not. Our day goes by as us enjoying ourselves together after a long time.

The moment was suddenly cut off by my phone ringing, I excuse myself and Aiko nods.

I take my phone out of my bag and looked at the caller ID.

Tetsu😾

I answered, placing the phone near my ear I initiated, "Tetsu?"

"Uh, H... Hi princess." He says in a nervous tone, I can feel the energy the aura of just his tone that he did something wrong, and It immediately turned my face into a worried one.

"What crime did you do?" I ask him in a blank and monotone voice but in the inside I was really worried.

"Don't be like that princess." He says with a nervous chuckle, "You know I m... missed you and wanted to just talk to you ab— I crashed my car."

Of course he did, I immediately stand up on my seat and Aiko looks at me with a frown, "Where are you right now? Jesus Tetsu I told you to slow down."

"At the police station near work place." He says and before I can ear anything more from him I hang up, placing the phone back in my bag I look back at Aiko.

"I'm so sorry but I got to go, Tetsu has crashed our car again." I tell him in a hurry voice.

"Oh my God is he okay?" She asks with widened eyes.

"Trust me he is, couldn't call it a week without him crashing or getting a ticket." I tell her almost as if it wasn't a big deal but in the inside I was super worried about my fiancé.

Aiko just looks at me with a confused and worried voice before she finally says her good bye, but she was still too stunned to speak.

I make my way back to my car and immediately drove to the police station with no second thoughts.

At the police station

"Is there any man here named Tetsuro Kuroo?" I ask the guard who was at the front desk in a hurry, he looks up at me and looks back at his computer before looking back at me.

"And who are you to him?" He asks me with a raised eyebrow.

"Y/n L/n, his fiancé." I tell him, praying to God and asking him to have this man be much more faster at his job cause I was getting impatient.

"Wel—

—Y/n!" I hear Tetsuro's voice call my name and I immediately turn my head away from the guard and look at Tetsuro who looked really stressed, his tie wasn't tied and he had a slight bruise on his cheek bone.

This man just doesn't know when to stop bruising himself huh?

I sigh before walking to him, sighing as I bring him in a hug. He probably can tell the worry I had for him when I hugged him all so gently, burying my face on his chest as I let his arms wrap around me comfortably as well.

"I was so worried." I tell him in a low voice.

"I'm sorry, Y/n." He says to me before kissing the top of my head, his hand caressing my waist and back.

"Why can't you just slow down when you drive?" I ask him before slightly punching his chest.

He chuckles and the vibration on his chest sent shivers down my spine.

Before he can even reply, we were interrupted by a cough to get out attention, we finally back away from our hug and we turned to look at the person. Seeing what I assumed was another officer who was in charge of this kind of cases.

"Sorry to interrupt your lovely moment, but I need to borrow Mr. Tetsuro, if you don't mind miss?" He says before looking at me with a polite face.

I nod my head towards him and he smiles politely before signally Tetsuro to follow him, Tetsuro turns to me and peck my lips before leaving, the single PDA had me blushing as if I was still in high school, "I'll see you later and explain what happened."

With that being said he gives me his last smile before going with the officer.

I was still confused on what I had to do, doesn't he need to pay a really big amount of money but it really does depend on the person he crashed his car into, or maybe he crashed it on a building that will double up the payment, as the second goes by and I was just sitting on the waiting area, when...

"The files had already been reported to the chief." A familiar voice says in a very decent distance.

I can't help but look up from the my phone, turning my head to the person who I least expected to encounter.

He talks at his fellow officer before his eyes then trailed over to me, it seems like he was rather much more surprised than me on seeing me here.

"L/n?" Sawamura calls out before excusing himself and then walks his way towards.

I immediately felt nervous, standing up from my seat to greet him politely and try not to look nervous or any sign of uncomfortable around him, I wasn't. I just didn't expect to see him here, it was sudden.

"Sawamura-san." I greet him back with a small smile, he gives me the same smile as well.

He really did become a police officer as he said he was, his face became much more matured looking, I wonder if he's still with the girl he you know.

"Please call me Daichi, it's been what? 8 years." Daichi tells me and I nod at what he said, "I didn't expect to see you here at all, can I help you?"

I shake my head at his question before playing with my fingers to calm my nerves, seeing your ex boyfriend after 8 years wasn't so pleasing after all, knowing that I never talked to him after the incident of me confessing to Tetsuro, I was about to be married too.

"Tetsuro has crashed our car, it's nothing big." I assure him with a nervous smile and he smiles back at me.

He nods his head at my answer before avoiding eye contact with me, I can see the way he tenses at the mention of Tetsuro.

Daichi's POV

I feel my body somehow getting pulled back when I see her, sitting as she scrolls on her phone. Her slick H/c hair was still there, it's almost illegal to say this but, she was beautiful as the day I met her.

I was awfully missing and hoping to just have her talk to me, wanting to know if she's having trouble in life.

After some years, I thought I had gotten over her, but as soon as I saw her. It's almost like I was my high school self again, I really don't have the rights to miss her, I cheated.

After she had mention Tetsuro I immediately knew that they were still together, I completely backed down from my fantasies, what did I expect? I scoff at myself mentally, moving my eyes back at her again I noticed that she was getting awkward, I don't blame her at all.

"Is he okay?" I ask her, trying to act very much as if we were friends.

She nods immediately, "Yes, he just drives really fast."

I nod with a chuckle, trying to take in her whole self after 8 years, I noticed the shiny thing perfectly wrapped around on her ring finger, it was as if it was meant to be there.

"Engaged?" I tell her, I was forcing myself not to crack my voice and cry right now, It took almost every fiber on my body not to walk out and just slam my head against a wall.

She smiled before taking her hand and looks at the ring ever so gently, who knew I was still hopelessly in love with her?

"Yes, I was just about to tell you." She says before taking out something from her purse, "I carry these around in case I meet someone I know and forgot to invite them."

She hands me a very neatly card, in a very fancy font it read.

You're invited to the wedding!

I feel my chest area somehow clench under my uniform, I guess she's happy now. Why did she have to invite me in person? I was almost too out of energy to give her a smile, but I did, just for her.

I accepted the car with a fake smile, "I'll be there, congratulations Y/n."

She smiles at me again, the smile that I wish was still for me, I didn't know what to do really, it was all my fault all along.

I don't see it anymore, the light in her eyes whenever she talks to me back then, it's obvious. But I still can't help myself but to ask.

"I have something to ask." I tell her and she hums in reply, "What if I—

Didn't mess up, would it still be us?

I wanted to ask that to her, want to scream it just to get an answer out of her but I stop myself to make another conflict.

—What if Tetsuro doesn't want me to be there? Would it be okay for him?" I ask her a different question, she frowns at what I just said.

"Oh don't be silly, Tetsu will be okay with it." She says before giving me a smile that really made me trust her.

Tetsu... Great nickname.

"By the way—

Do I ever cross your mind?

Once again another alternative question pops in my head, the more honest question that I wanted to have her answer, but I knew better.

—When's the wedding?" I ask her.

"It's on the invitation, Daichi-san." She says with a more forced out chuckle, I almost felt too dumb to even ask her what I just asked.

"Oh." I only reply before scratching the back of my neck.

Y/n then looks away from me and she looks at whoever was behind me, I looked behind me too, seeing Tetsuro coming out from an office, I frowned, I had one more thing to tell Y/n.

Seeing Tetsuro here, I can't help but feel myself getting envious over him.

I turned to Y/n to tell her something, one last time.

"One more thing Y/n—

I love you.

—Take care."

She nods her head before giving me one last smile, "You too."

And with that being said she then walks away, going to the man she was always meant to be with.

I turn my body to look at them, seeing Tetsuro smile at the woman who I once called the love of my life, he wraps his hands around her in a secure yet very gentle way.

My heart was too numb to feel anything at this point, it's my fault.

Y/n smiles so happily before kissing his cheek, and then now taking Tetsuro's ruined tie in her hands and tying it properly, I can't help but imagine myself as Tetsuro at the moment, That should be me.

As if Tetsuro didn't notice me, he has one arm around Y/n's shoulder as they both made their way out of the police station, both having a perfect happy smile on there face as there arms were around each other.

I should stop, I messed up and I should deal with that from now on. And why do I even bother? She has someone, someone that wouldn't hurt her, someone that loves her more than I can ever have back then. She looks like she was meant to be with him.

The way she smiles around him, she looks more happy than she can ever have around me back then, the way she looks so comfortable and very happy around him, was obvious that she was in love.

And the more I look at her with him, I can't help but to think.

She looks so much safer in his arms.
