Y/n's Dad POV

Y/n angrily stands up from her seat leaving her barely touched food on the table as she walks out.

I sighed in my mind, blaming myself for not stopping their disagreement sooner, I looked towards my wife who had her eyes closed trying to keep herself as calm as possible.

"You should really trust her more often." I said before munching the steak.

She looks at me with those cold eyes, as if it was judging my whole existence.

"Whose side are you basically on?" She asks in a annoyed tone, crossing her arms she doesn't bare touch her food.

"I'm not taking sides, I'm just letting you know that Y/n is old enough to know her limits." I said to her, keeping my voice calm.

Knowing that if a single hint of attitude was shown on my voice I knew she was going to act like I was basically against her.

"You're not takings sides but you're against me." She scoffs.

See? But it's okay to me, I love my wife but she's really just overprotective to Y/n. Knowing that her sister's situation really traumatized her, she just needed to understand that Y/n was big now.

"I'm not and you know that, I'm just saying things that are right, which is letting you understand that your daughter is big enough to know her limits." I tried to tell my wife, earning a straight annoyed sigh from her as she looks away from me.

She's stubborn when it comes to Y/n, she's protective when it comes to Y/n. Even if my wife is like this towards Y/n I knew well that she loves Y/n with all her heart, she's just over protective and you can tell.

"I'm just worried." She finally surrenders, the tough act she puts up disappearing as she looks down in guilt.

"I know that, stop being so hard on yourself." I said, standing up from my seat I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her from the back as I feel her relaxing.

"Am I a bad mother? I love her and you know that don't you?" She asks, looking at me as I nodded.

"You're not a bad mother, and I do know that you love her." I said to her wanting to say the sweetest words possible.

"Tell me... How do I make it up to her?" She asks and looks at me with a soft expression on her face, "You know that I'm not good with apologizing."

I smiled at her wanting to make it up to Y/n, As far as I know she's the woman who tries her best for her daughter, but she's not very good at it.

"Spend some time with her." I suggested.

She looks ahead of her.

"I have work and you know that." She says before having a frown on her face.

"I can cover for you." I suggested again, wanting nothing but to have her spend some time with her daughter.

She turns and looks at me as if I was crazy.

"Are you crazy? Work will be five times harder for you." She says with a surprised tone.

"I can do it, just have a good time with your daughter."

Y/n's POV

I widened my eyes, literally like a plate.

"A... Are you sure mom?" I asked again, wanting nothing but to hear what she said again and again.

"You know I don't like repeating myself Y/n..." She says, wanting so hard not to sound mean which I found unusual.

This whole 'mom being nice' thing was still weird let along her wanting to meet daichi? I felt sweat all over my palms, what if she judges too quickly?

"Don't worry Y/n, I just want to talk to him." She says, giving me another rare small smile that I swear she only gives dad.

I only managed to nod, letting this rare thing to ever happen slip was like me making a miracle slip away from my fingers.

"Let's continue cooking, your dad will be home soon." She says, the professional tone in her voice was slightly there but I didn't bother to give it my attention knowing she's really trying her best.

I nodded at her before continuing to cook with my mom.

Time skip

My dad came home a lot earlier than expected, we all finished dinner with a calm conversation. Asking how was our day, but now that we're now cleaning the table my mom walks out to take the phone call she received.

As I was washing the dishes my dad walked up next to me.

"Thank you." He suddenly says.

I stopped all of my movements and awkwardly looked at him seeing as he had a small smile on his face.

"For what?" I ask him who has now leaned his back on the counter.

"For letting your mom make it up to you." He says.

I sighed, cleaning my hands as I now fully faced my dad with a soft expression on my face.

"I was at fault too, you know I don't go against mom." I tell him, "But her wanting to meet the guy I like is the most surprising."

"She said that?" He asks with widened eyes.

I hummed in response, only earning a chuckle from my father.

"She just cares for you and Y/n, you're too young to worry about love, be careful okay?" He says making me nod in response.

I answered him with a nod.

Of course I know that, the day that I had sense when I was a child I always see my mom looking at me with a worried look whenever I'm at the playground.

"Why did she took a day off?" I ask the question that was on my mind the whole time.

"I told her to spend some time with you, I also told her that I was going to cover for her at work." He says, I look at him in disbelief.

The work they had required hard work from the workers. And having dad taking care of my mom's part of work is unbelievable. That's like five times of trouble he will have.

"She can just spend some time with me when she's done with work, why would you take cover for her?" I ask my dad who was out of his mind, I knew well how hard their work is.

"Don't be like that Y/n, you and your mom need time for each other." He says.

I was even surprised he came home early, taking cover for my mom's work is harder than it looks. He shouldn't be careless about this.

"I know that, you should take care of yourself more often dad." I said scolding him once more.

"I will, just have a good time with your mom okay? I'll bare this hell for two days, besides I'm stronger than you think." He says with a shrug of his shoulders and proceeds to walk out.

I sighed, my parents are crazy. But I'm not complaining, not realizing a smile creeping up to my face, I wonder if I'll ever be a crazy parent.

There's only one thing left to do.

Tell daichi that mom wants to meet him, the only problem is when and how, knowing that he lives in Miyagi.

We'll find a way with this, right?
