Y/n's POV

"Are two atoms of the same element identical?" The teacher asks, tapping his foot on the floor a sign of impatience.

I raised my hand.

Annoyingly, another hand raises. I shouldn't be surprised, that Rooster head.

Praying in my mind that the teacher would pick me, wanting to assert dominance in the classroom with the captain of the volleyball team.

"Ms. L/n." I proudly praised the teacher in my head, smiling as I stood up.

I felt so amused after catching kuroo rolling his eyes in annoyance before looking away.

I'll always be ahead of you.

"The answer is, No. Two atoms of the same chemical element are typically not identical. First of all, there is a range of possible states that the electrons of an atom can occupy. Two atoms of the same element can be different if their electrons are in different states. If one copper atom has an electron in an excited state and another copper atom has all of its electrons in the ground state, then the two atoms are different." I said, clearly out of breath as the teacher gave me a proud look.

Even though he gives me a proud look almost every day. My ears didn't forget to catch kuroo's scoff at the end of my answer.

I couldn't call it a day if kuroo wasn't annoyed.

This was always what I despise and like at the same time whenever it's time for chemistry, the part that I despise is kuroo being a absolute prick. Since my first day in nekoma high, he's nothing but annoyance to me. Ever since I got a higher score than him at one of our quiz, he tells me.

"Don't flatter yourself, I'll get a higher score on the next quiz."

It was immature, really. But I do find it amusing to see his defeated face whenever I get the high score. But I do hate the taste of defeat whenever he gets a higher score than me.

It motivates me to study harder, I couldn't let him beat me.

The thing that I like about this is because I can tease him to no end whenever I get a higher score, the look on his face is always priceless. The frown on his eyebrows is funnier than the whole circus. The way he clenches his jaw makes him funnier than any clown.

But I won't ignore the fact that I hate it when I get the lower score.

His ugly laugh is what I only hear at the end of the day, he won't call it a day if he hadn't rub it in my face enough that I lost to him.

In short, his ego gets bigger.

But it was easy to break, I just needed to surpass him on the second test.

"Thank you L/n, you're correct." With that being said the teacher proceeds to talk about another lesson of our chemistry.

Time skip

"Class dismiss, please don't forget the test next week." The teacher says to the class before going out.

End of class for this week. It was Friday, I can finally relax.

I sighed, another test. I needed to study again. As much as I hate studying I needed to do it, my parents would go crazy if they ever found out I had a low grade. It scares me to face the disappointment in their face.

My parents are both busy people, they barely had time to have a chat with me. Always on their laptop or in their office, I get used to it.

It gets annoying sometimes.

But I needed to understand, right?

"Oi, L/n." A voice called out.

I didn't bother to look up as I already know who it was. Gathering my books as I placed it in my bag.

"Hey, look at me when I'm talking to you." He says in a more serious tone now.

I rolled my eyes, looking up at him as he gives me a glare at my lack of response.

"I'll get a higher score in this test." He says, crossing his arms in front of his chest as he puts on a confident look.

"Feed your own ego, I'm busy." I replied before looking down and fixing my stuff again.

He scoffs.

"I thought of you today." He suddenly says, it makes me look up at him. Widening my eyes a little as I see him smirk at my reaction.

"It reminded me to take out the trash." He says before laughing hard.

You've got to be kidding me.

Once again I huff, pushing one of my last book in my bag before brushing past him.

"Hey---W..Wait! where are you going? You're face was so dumb." He laughs again.

Even after I got out I can still hear that stupid laugh of his, clenching my fist as I began to walk faster.

That little--- he's gonna pay for it, who does he think he is, Going around calling me trash?

"Oh come on princess." That stupid nickname!

He gave me that nickname ever since day one, he knows well how much I hate being called like that. Especially when he's the one calling me that! It's annoying. So damn annoying.

I felt him walking besides me as I ignore him, hoping that he'll go away.

"Don't get bitter, just get better." He says once again before laughing again.

His laugh is much more annoying than that stupid nickname, everything about him is annoying.

"I could eat a bowl of alphabet soup and poop out a smarter statement than whatever you just said." Saying that I remain looking ahead, hearing him chuckling with my words.

"That's the be----

----Kuroo." A monotone voice called out.

I stopped my tracks along with kuroo, I looked at the voice in front of us. Seeing kenma kozume with a PSP in his hand as he looks at us.

I know him, he's also a volleyball player. He seems way too nice to be with kuroo, and then I later found out that they were best friends. How? But I paid them no mind, I didn't care. And it wasn't my business.

"Karasuno is already here for the practice match with us." He says in a cold voice before going back to his gadget.

I didn't pay this a mind, brushing pass the blonde as I heard them still talking even though I was in a good distance.

Going out the building, I sighed.

Finally, resting for the whole two days. Not really, I do study in the weekends but it depends really if I have a upcoming test on Monday which I have.

Hearing heavy footsteps, I looked up ahead of me but only was met by a large chest bumping into my.

I Yelp, landing on my butt as I rub my forehead, hoping the sensation would lessen.

"Oh gosh! I'm so sorry!" A voice said, offering me a hand as I was lifted up.

Looking up to the man, I was met by a brown haired male. He doesn't go here, he doesn't look like he goes here. He doesn't even look like he lives in Tokyo.

"Are you okay?" He asks, scanning my body for any wounds.

"I'm fine... I've never seen you here before." I can't help but to ask.

I was just curious to know.

"That's good, and yeah I'm not from here. I'm way back to Miyagi." He explains with a small smile.

"Miyagi? It's like a 4-6 hours by train." I said completely surprised by the man in front of me.

He laughs at my face.

"It's all worth it." He says.

I can't help but to smile as I watch him, he was so kind and respectful, I forgot people like him still exists.

"What are you doing here anyway?" I ask again, looking around me as I was still finding some answers on why was I keeping a conversation to this guy.

I didn't have a reasonable reason to do so, but. In some say I wanted to talk to him longer.

"We're having a volleyball practice match with your team." He explains again, he was fighting against kuroo.

Well I hope this guys beats kuroo's ass, since that guy was already a pain in the ass.

"CAPTAIN!" A loud voice yelled
