So... Camp Cretaceous Season 3 is out now.

And I've seen it...

It's pretty friggin awesome!! 👏🏻💯

In terms of storytelling —
they did a great job on expanding the lore (especially with some scenes being subtle references and nods to memorable scenes in the franchise!!!) By giving us new dinosaurs and locations that we've never seen before in the JW movies.

The characters (and cast) are closer than ever before, not only becoming a great time, but a family, seeing different pairings and bonds forming/growing in all the episodes that sets off unique and interesting dynamics in the group!!

— some even getting the spotlight and set on their own little adventures/quests/(quick but good) character arcs.

The stakes are a lot higher than past seasons that you understand how much it'll cost. I'd even give it to them for doing a great job for amplifying (a bit of) horror into a couple of scenes that got me screaming/flinching and (slightly) scared for my camp fam.

I'm gonna give you one more chance to walk away and watch s3 instead of reading it...

𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐒𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐋 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍!!!

Well, you've reached a point of no return in reading full my thoughts regarding major plot points, character arcs, and events that happened in Season 3.

So, let's get started!!!

The start of episode one where we see them on a boat leaving Isla Nublar got me hooked immediately (that they made for two weeks) and seeing them again on my tv screen was so just amazing, I even noticed some updated changes in the animation that was pretty good!! 👏🏻😍

Oh, but don't get me started in them making me realise how Bumpy would be left behind. And seeing Ben's reaction to her running out of the trees and calling out to him made my heart crack, I went "You seriously can't make me depressed within the first 2-3 minutes right now!!"  😨😫

And then they got some boat problems, which led to a giant wave hovering towards them, destroying their ticket out and nearly drowning. 😬

As the view changed to them back on the island from the ocean. I thought "Well... At least they got cleaned" lmao

Then returning to their fort and discuss other ways/means on getting off the island, some arguing went down (mostly between Yasmina and Brooklynn that was too obvious for me to see, with Yaz mentioning Kenji had an idea that he kept bringing up on a human catapult, and apparently he and Sammy get a weird but cute friendship that went down that I didn't see coming or working, but overall liked it lol)

Meanwhile, Ben was too focused on Bumpy to pay attention from having second thoughts on leaving and stay behind, which would be most of his character arc in this season!!

Which I understood once seeing how he had his eyes on Bumpy the whole time.

Kenji revealing how there was a hand-gliding ride had me surprised, since we never got any mention of one in the films. But it pretty cool to learn about that.

I also noticed how he started growing a goatee and it's really weird 😂😂

So, they went to get one to use the fabric for a sail for their next boat to build. Since they struggled in searching for past attempts.

Then, they have to ride a gandola up to the mountain. Sammy and Kenji immediately crash into one together, Brooklynn and Yasmina share and hope on in, and Darius was about to follow suite but decides to stay with Ben (who didn't want to go and stays with Bumpy) from noticing how his friend was feeling a little off and wanted to check up on him.

I just can't handle how well Kenji and Sammy work together, it's pretty shocking 😱😂

Brooklynn and Yasmina was awkward and petty as hell, I was encouraging them to talk and be nice 😂🤧🤣

The whole discussion between Darius and Ben was just nice. 💕

— I will say that Ben was favorite character in S2, his character growth from being a scared boy in S1 to a complete dinosaur, (George the Jungle/Tarzan) bad**s was just fantastic. 🔥🔥

But seeing how tough and defensive in the way he responded and acted was a bit weird for me to take in, considering he's usually respectful and well-mannered. (But I didn't mind how he wanted to beat Kenji up for pulling a prank on him, because that'd be me XD 😂😂)

Oh and uhm...
The shock of seeing them in new outfits, specifically swimwear/bathing suits and trunks had me screaming. My eyes cannot unsee Darius from that episode anymore lol 😍😭😂

Darius, Yasmina, and Kenji finding the original building of Jurassic Park was just as great and nostalgic as Zack and Gray found it in Jurassic World!! 😍

I was hoping they'd go to the garage and find the truck and head goggles that Tim wore, it would've been helpful and useful in their hands and epic to see them use it!! (And I still to this very day want to try them on XD) But sadly they didn't and had to retrieve their compass back from a compy taking it.

Which led to Blue coming in and made things 10x harder.

The scene where Blue got stuck underneath a truck, and the others were about to leave when Darius saw compies coming in to eat her.

I was obviously telling them to help her, because it's Blue. Ya'll don't understand how much I love her, and will be heartbroken if she died 😂🤧

They did in fact help her from being eaten (Thanks to Kenji grabbing some by the vending machine throwing some quarters at the compies, who liked shiny things XD)

Then, Sammy asks Brooklynn to assist her in investigating to (try and) learn on what Manticorp wanted from her. So they could prevent her family from going out of the business, they have a small fight because of Brooklynn getting caught up in exposing Manticorp instead of helping Sammy, but they make up and go to the area that Sammy mentioned being (possibly) secret.

I did understand and got a little annoyed at Brooklynn for doing it at first like she was filming a video in unboxing this topic or that topic. But I forgave her when she sincerely apologised to Sammy.

They got there and down into the underground tunnels, walking through to find the E750 room. The door and room messy/damaged. Going around for clues and any good use of items or resources that would help Sammy's problem. Which leads to Brooklynn finding a laptop, she hands it over to Sammy for her to go through.

Clicking on a folder that had videos, she clicks on one for it be update videos on Wu reporting updates on E750 — otherwise known as the Scorpio Rex. Discovering that it was project in a secret lab that Doctor Wu had underneath the park in the underground tunnels, where he had research on merging more dinosaur DNA with various ones of animals. It being one he presented to Masrani to be included in the park, which he rejected it.

But Doctor Wu kept it for scientific and research purposes, the other videos they played were how E750 was a failure and how bad/dangerous it was. That led to him placing the darn monstrosity into sleep in the containment we saw it in S2, so he could further investigate what went wrong and fix it. (E750 being a test failure that came before the Indominous Rex)

It was all too fascinating to say the least is all I can say about the reveal, very interesting!! 👀👀🤯

Okay, but Kenji remembering how his dad had a private dock and building on Isla Nublar got me shocked once more, he never failed to surprise this season lol 😂😱

The place was pretty cool ngl, if no dinosaurs got into the building. I would live there 😍

Darius grabbing his journal that contained notes he wrote and sketches by Yaz, going through them with a photo of him and his dad falling out got me depressed once more. I said this once and I'll say it again: Darius' relationship with his father is just so beautiful and devastating 💔🤧

He then leaves to go and do a sketch of a Gallimimus from noticing how he never added them yet, which he was hesitant on and Kenji noticed this and encouraged him, saying how he could pack up the supplies while he went out and that there was still time from Brooklynn and Sammy still out there, while Yasmina was taking a few laps. Darius eventually goes and leaves him in charge.

(Captain) Kenji doing a celebratory dance and singing a tune about how he's in charge had me dying with laughter 🤣🤣

Darius' little me-time in drawing a Gallimimus, getting close to one, and being able to feed one was all to much for me to handle!! 😍😍

— And learning how (Gallimimus) were his dad's favourite dinosaur was just sweet to learn about. ✨

(Kenji's constant interruptions through the walky-talkies when Darius was close to interacting with a Gallimimus was both frustrating and hilarious 😂🙄 that I would be him in muting his replies XD)

Speaking of Kenji, his whole arc in trying to be independent, responsible, and stepping up as a leader was okay at first. It was fine, but when he it seriously as Darius ran into Brooklynn and Sammy from them leaving the E750 lab — and how they have to get off the island now. Giving out quick, basic, and stern orders with a plan on what to do, I was proud of him. 😊

A storm sets in before they could leave and have to stay on the island to wait until it was safe for them to sail through, then it goes through an intense dark, scary, rainy sequence where the Scorpio Rex comes in and attacks the kids.

Sammy nearly dying from being stung by the Scorpio-Rex was so intense for me to watch, especially at how they showed that her skin turned yellow in getting some quills jabbed into her side. (They were poisonous)

And she's one of my favourite characters, so seeing her in pain made it worse (yes, ya'll can hate me on liking your least fav lmao 😂😂🙄 but I do understand and respect ur opinions on her) but what got me teary eyed and close to sobbing was Yasmina — the way she felt and acted, how miserable and broken in knowing that her last words to Sammy was how their friendship was temporary on the island only, even pushing herself to go halfway across the island to get the antidote for her!! 😭😭😫

The flashbacks we got as she pressed onward to the lab made me emotional on the inside. And when she returned and sobbed in pleading to Sammy to wake up got me my eyes watery, getting worse from seeing the others' reactions in thinking she died.

And once she did indeed wake up, I was relieved and happy to see her alive. Wiping the tears from eyes before they fell out 😂🤧

They were about to head out and resume their plan on leaving the island on their boat, until Ben left to follow footprints Bumpy he found when packing supplies. (She ran away before Scorpio-Rex came in with the storm scaring her away)

Then, Darius goes to look for Ben while having Brooklynn, Kenji, Yasmina, and Sammy going to boat and leave by sunrise if they weren't there.

I gotta comment on how cute and hilarious it was to see Yasmina act like Sammy to cheer her up, Brooklynn and Kenji's reaction to it especially made things funnier. And Sammy overhearing the whole thing was the icing on the cake and how she also felt weirded out by Yaz's encouraging and kindhearted personality change lol 😂😂

Okay... But the whole sequence in seeing the opening scene of Fallen Kingdom being recreated in animation form had me freaking out and was so cool!! 😍

And when I went to rewatch the movie afterwards, I kept thinking about Darius and the others being in the background when the camera was on the intense T-Rex chasing the helicopter in a storm and a mosasaurus pops up to munch on the dude on the rope ladder. ‼️

Then they spot another helicopter and follow it assuming it might be the one, Kenji, Sammy, and Ben are on. But instead it was Doctor Wu and a group of soldiers, they were back to help the scientist get his research (laptop)

She pulled a freaking Black Widow and gave Darius the laptop, telling them to go by saying "Whatever It Takes" and Brooklynn getting captured by Wu and his group. That made appreciate her character a bit more after doing that, a bonus in how she annoyed the hell out of Doctor Wu 🤣😂

I was a lil' frustrated on Kenji being paranoid on the plan not working, that he takes the laptop to hand over to Wu. That was annoying. 😒

(Like I get that he's worried and all, but his friends had it all planned out so he should trust them at least ✌🏻)

But luckily, they managed to destroy the laptop (thanks to Ben recruiting Bumpy and her herd) and get Brooklynn without getting hurt!! Wu and his captain leaving, I nearly freaked out in seeing that they were left behind and remembered a minute later the boat XD 😂😂

Kenji still being mad at Darius after successfully getting Brooklynn back was sad and shocking, I really hope they get to be friends again!! ❤️

I think my only critique is that I couldn't tell what the ending of the final episode meant, or should I say — annoyed and confused more accurately to describe what I felt. Like is our camp fam finally going home to the mainland on their ship or get eaten by a bunch of carnivores onboard??

It just bugged me that they ended it like that...

LIKE WHY NETFLIX, WHYYYY?!? 😡🤯😭

I'm not even sure if they'll continue the show and give us a S4, as much as I'd love for that to happen 💔

But that's probably just me!! XD

Since the kids were able to accomplish their goal in leaving the island after six months!!

And they've been through so much already that I want them to be safe!! 🥺

But if they were to continue the show, I'd imagine them getting back to the mainland, reuniting with their families and all that good stuff. A few weeks passed and their still in touch despite being apart from each other, then some members (like Darius, Brooklynn, or Ben mostly) encounter some dinosaurs in their country. Coming in line with the ending of Fallen Kingdom??

Where the dinosaurs are starting to adapt in living within our world, where both humans and dinosaurs coexist??

Maybe even some scenes showing the characters learning about the protest on people wanting to save the dinosaurs that Claire was helping, them talking about it in their group chat/calls and discovering Isla Nublar blowing up. That would be a gut punch to the face to Ben if he found out and knowing how Bumpy (most likely) died from it. It would break my heart!! 💔🤧🥺

Or they get stranded on the other islands like from Jurassic Park II or III from learning that some dinosaurs were onboard? (But this one sounds repetitive to me with what they went through)

But I don't know, you guys can comment down below ideas for a possible S4 storyline if it were to happen!! 😍🤔

But in summary — Season 3 was awesome and I loved it so much, I'd say it is the best season out of all the ones we got. 💯

You best believe, I'll be working on the next chapter after working on this review!! ✌🏻👀
