You frantically kept you're hands out to the raptors, and moved back until your back met the cold surface of the metal fence. Eyes closed in preparation for the pain of them sinking their teeth into your skin.

But that was until the alarm stopped and white lights over the cage switched on "Hey! Come and get it!"

You raised your hand to shield your eyes from brightness, watching the raptors go after the large cuts of raw meat that were placed on the ground. Which left you sitting there against the fence in awe and relief.

The gate started to open where Darius and Kenji were, and they managed to escape which left you.

"Get out of there!!" a female voice yelled from above. One of the raptors had it's eyes on you, without wasting, quickly moved your feet along the ground towards the gate. One hot on your tail as you moved as fast as you could, as the gate went down slowly, looking back to see the carnivore still after you.

And without knowing, tripping on a rock near the gate as the Velociraptor was close and screeched with its claws out. You felt someone grab your arm, pulling you out and land backwards, this time on the outside of the enclosure.

The raptor hitting it's head on the metal fence, you were breathing heavily and looked up to discover that Dave saved you. He held out his hand for you to take and you accepted with a groan, getting back up on your feet.

"Secure the paddock! Move, move, move!" A man shouted, military like trucks pulled up with a group of staff members ran up to secure the enclosure, pressing buttons and holding rifles in their hands.

"Dave, that was... Thank you so much." Darius panting from his near death experience, trying to catch his breath.

"This is a standard procedure, Darius, I do this kind of stuff all the time—" Dave chuckled, before his stomach gurgled and laid a hand on his stomach "Give me a second," ran to a bunch of bushes, leant over and throwing up. You felt a little sick inside, cringing a little and looked away.

"That's... better." he breathed, wiping his mouth with a moan and walked back to you guys. You gave him a small pat on the back in comfort to which he waved his hand off mouthing 'I'm fine' as Brooklynn and Roxie came over.

"Are you hurt?" Roxie checking on him. To which his cheeks flushed and gave her a nervous smile and thumbs up in reassurance. (I'm probably the one who sees Dave and Roxie reminding me of Claire and Owen, and ships them hard lmao 😂💕)

"Is everyone alright?" She asks, this time looking at all of us. Kenji tried sneaking his way from the female counsellor but she grabbed him by the back of his shirt. "Oh no, you don't! You're all in big trouble!!" Roxie frowned.

"But he was the one who jumped in! Y/N and I were trying to—" your yellow jacket friend was trying to defend yourselves from the accusations.

The female counsellor groaned "Save it! We'll decide what to do with you both later. If you even get to stay at camp after a stunt like this..." A small gasp could be heard from Darius, none of you never saying a word and walked back to the jeep.

It had been 20 minutes since Dave and Roxie went to talk with Brooklynn, telling you to stay put in the main room, scolding her separately from you three — meaning a bigger lecture was coming your way.

Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop,

He better stop doing that...

Pop,

I swear if he does it one more—

Pop,

Okay, that's it!

Pop—

"Ugh, how are you so calm about his?! And why would you do something so stupid!?" Darius asked, clearly annoyed of the noise he was making that bugged you as well.

"I do a lot of stupid things, so you'll have to be a little more specific than that..." Kenji shrugs while leaning into the couch, how dull can this boy even get?!

"Girls love a grand gesture, junior. You'll understand when you're older." He laughed, this only made your frustration burst.

"Yeah, I don't think that works from grabbing Brooklynn's phone when she was capable of doing it herself..." you scoffed coldly.

"Oh, and then your gonna mention how smart it was of you saving us earlier? Real mature..." the raven haired boy

You know it's true, just admit it! You were prepared to respond when Darius interrupted you.

"Hey, will you just stop! Because of you, we're probably going to get sent home! And what Y/N did was risky but she tried to save us from those raptors because of your genius idea! If anything, you should be thankful for her grand gesture especially when it costed her life!!" He called out and breathing heavily from releasing all that anger. You were flattered by his statement and at the same time, flustered by how he defended you from Kenji, unaware of a brief warmth rushing to your cheeks and stayed silent in amazement.

"Okay, maybe it wasn't my best idea..." He started with a huff of breath leaving his lips. The young brown boy gave him a look while your face said 'are you serious?'

"Look, you're not the only ones getting kicked out, I can't either, not when my dad..." He paused as his fingers were laced together, the tone of his voice changing to one of sadness. "My whole life, I've been trying to make him proud... A-and if he finds out that I messed up again, he might... finally give up on me for good." his eyes gazing at the wooden floor, not meeting yours or Darius' gaze.

You weren't sure on to believe Kenji or not, sure he wasn't someone you were fond of at the moment. But a feeling of sympathy for him was deep inside of you underneath that hatred towards him. Interrupting your response was Dave and Roxie entering the room, oh boy, here we go...

"We're going to give Brooklynn a warning for sneaking out, but what you and Y/N did—" Dave's voice rose, clearly upset over the stunt that went down as he walked over to us with his head female counsellor. (When Dave's upset you know it's really bad, he is usually the positive one and seeing him like that made me feel guilty XD)

"Especially you, Kenji!" Roxie yelled with a stern look "Your recklessness put yours, Darius, Y/N, and Dave's lives in danger!" You all just stayed silent as they made fair points "Oh, we should call your parents—"

Your eyes widen in worry, you didn't want your time in Jurassic World to be over!

"I-It was my fault!" Both you and Darius exclaimed, the two of you causing Kenji, and the counselors to stare in shock and confusion.

"Who's fault was it?" Roxie questioned with a quirked eyebrow.

Darius glanced at you with wide eyes and sighed "I-I dropped Brooklynn's phone into the pit! Then I was stupid enough to jump in to get it, Kenji jumped in after me and—"

"I tried helping him get back up and climb over the fence after Darius got the phone, but it was too late for him to climb back and I used myself as distraction so he could get away and... Kenji was... trying to save me." You finished simply, you were screaming on the inside for saying that.

"Yeah, that's it. I... I was just saving the poor things from sudden death!" Kenji snapped his fingers and slid closer you both, putting one arm around you and Darius' shoulders.

"Wait... I'm sorry, so. Darius, the shy dino-genius stole Brooklynn's phone, dropped it, jumped into the pit and then Y/N, who's got the maturity and brains tried to rescue you but failed and got saved by Kenji, the one person she hates. Who thinks the dinosaurs went extinct by stating and I quote 'their farts made the air trashy'?" Roxie emphasised in disbelief, crossing her arms with an eyebrow raised.

"Prove me wrong, yo," Kenji smirked briefly, you face palmed in irritation.

"It's true..." you gritted your teeth, and shrugged sadly.

Dave was pretty convinced, but Roxie wasn't having it "Yeah, it's just that Brooklynn's account is quite different from yours."

Kenji scoffed "Brooklynn... Look, it was dark, she was confused, she needs glasses! While Y/N and I? We're cool... After all, she told me how her and Darius are dating right now." Kenji chuckled, this caused your cheeks to flush in embarrassment and frustration. Darius also blushing at this statement. Oh, he is so getting beat tomorrow... This further proving his point to Roxie. "But, what's important is that I'll keep looking out for these two here. You're welcome." flashing a small grin her way.

And still, Roxie wasn't believing the information she got from you guys.

"Well, no harm, no foul. Let's chalk the whole thing up to experience. Lessons, friendships, now this is what camps about!! Who's with me!" Dave beamed in his normal cheerful tone.

"Fine. But one, more, misstep..." Roxie warned in a low tone.

"I... We won't let you down," Darius reassured, glancing at you to see a small smile on your lips and one flashed on his. Kenji grinning from ear to ear with his hand on your shoulder.

Roxie kept a skeptical look on her face, eyebrows furrowed at the trio. Dave just smiled in seeing the three (especially you and Kenji) getting along in a way.

Darius smiles "So! What are we doin' tomorrow?"

You stood in between Darius and Kenji whilst staring at a mountain of dinosaur poop...

Well, that is one big pile of sh—

"Enjoy cleaning this up, you three." Roxie tossing you, Darius, and Kenji shovels. Using the tool from not only swatting the flies and mosquitoes from your face. But the smell never left your nostrils "We will be going to the genetics lab..." she finished and made her way over to the jeep.

Your friends were in the back of the vehicle, ready to go, had disgusted looks on their faces and covering their noses from the smell. Well, Ben covered his mouth from preventing the urge to vomit — and Brooklynn, of course, took a photo of you guys to document.

Oh, how you wished on grabbing that phone from her hands...

Then your eyes catch Dave throwing Darius a small bottle, eyebrow rose in confusion "Cologne. That'll help with the smell. And the ladiesss~!!" He cat called, slightly gesturing to you being with them to which you rolled your eyes in annoyance.

The blonde laughed awkwardly "But mostly for the smell, the stench of dinosaur poo can really linger..." and slides into the driver's seat with closing the door, starting the engine and watched as they left you there.

The three of you stood there, before you broke the silence with a huff of breath "Well, what are we waiting for." gripping onto your shovel and walk to the pile of poop, sighing softly and began to do your part...

Big props to those who got the reference I put for the poop scene before seeing this gif lmao 👏🏻😂🤣

When writing for the poop scene, my mind immediately went to that moment in particular and I could've sworn hearing Jeff in my head when thinking of that line HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

I was struggling as to whether or not the reader would either go with Darius and Kenji or the others to the lab, since I wanted her to get closer to some specific characters in my story. (Fun fact — The way I ranked the characters in the Cast section, is a peek into who the reader will grow great bonds with!! 👀👀😉)

But, logically I think it wouldn't make sense for the reader to get in trouble like the two boys and not be with them. So I ultimately went with her staying and cleaning the poop, which means you know what you can expect what happens next!! 😏😍

Your welcome for updating this in a matter of two days, I risked my sleep to try and finish this and did just that for you all!! (And it's currently 5AM here huhuhuhuhuhu 😭😭😴)

Imma take a break from updating this since I have lots of stuff to do — which includes Season 3 comes out this Friday!!
