"How are you Jungkook?"

"Pretty well. What about you?"

"So good after seeing you."

"Why so sudden, huh? What if I was with my boyfriend?" Jungkook asked, breaking through the hug and the comfortable hands ran through his ravenette messy hair.

"It's been long to see you."

"We literally met a week ago."

"For me it's hard to stay away even for a day but guess I have to live like that, my baby."

"Dad... can you stop sounding like that though? And stop calling me baby. It sounds so odd."

"Why? Fathers can't call their sons baby? Only your boyfriend can call you?"

"He doesn't call me baby, he calls me da-" Jungkook shut his mouth instantly, realising that he was with his father.

He dropped on the single couch, his father sitting on the huge couch now.

"Now seriously tell me what brought you here?" Jungkook asked, his gaze fixed on his father's face who now pulled out his coat and sat comfortably.

"Was passing by so came here but you seemed out so I waited. And also luggages? Where have you been? Paris again?" His father asked, chuckling.

"Ah no... hiking this time."

"Oh really? With that little vanila boy." His father teased and Jungkook rolled his eyes.

"I gotta meet him one day. Too tired watching him through pics. He seems amazing and very influential." His father raised his brows while saying and smiling hard.

"So you were passing by my building?" Jungkook changed the question, not wanting to blush in front of his father.

"Ah yes."

"Why though?"

"Why? Can't I?"

"A busy business man passing by a residential area of not too rich people all alone?" Jungkook asked suspiciously.

"Ah... you clever kid." Mr. Jeon chuckled.

"Coffee, Dad? We'll talk."

Jungkook's father gave a nod, watching his son heading to the kitchen, washing his hands and wiping them clean before bringing mugs and making coffee through a coffee machine.

"I actually... I bought this building." His father blurted out and Jungkook's eyes widened, hands stopping quickly in doing what he was doing as he laid his full focus on his father with a questioning gaze.

"Dad? What for? I told you I love living here why did you-"

"Let me complete."

Jungkook passed him a questioning gaze, waiting for him to say something.

"Namjoon's cousin owned the total six blocks of Atlers and now he is selling me all and who was I to deny? At least it will be your home, your 'own home'."

Jungkook walked to his father with mugs in his hands.

"Why are you so obsessed with making me stay in 'own home'? Already told you, this feels like home to me."

"It's not like that son. What's wrong with that though? You don't have to pay rent nor your beloved neighbour." His father smiled, sipping on his coffee leisurely.

"We don't need separate houses too... just doing it for the sake of his parents."

"No problem though. He doesn't have to pay anymore."

Jungkook smiled and then started zoning out, thinking about having Taehyung around both the houses, in both different types of moods.

"I missed this so much, even luxurious cafes fail in delivering this taste." His father blurted out, sipping Jungkook's coffee with enthusiasm.

"Cheesy..." Jungkook chuckled softly.

Well, we know from where he got his traits.

"I miss having a strong young guy making his father coffee in the morning."

"Dad, stop please. Why does your every conversation end with me coming home?" Jungkook snapped now, so done with the same burdensome question again.

Mr. Jeon licked his lip, placing the cup down before focusing on his son.

"Because home doesn't feel like home without you. It's been like nine months Jungkook." His father confessed in a serious note.

"As if you were there with me. You were always at the work anyway-" Jungkook retorted unintentionally and his father's expressions turned to downcasted ones, head hanging low.

Jungkook panicked, internally suing himself for always treating his father rudely.
He put his cup down and sat next to his father.

"Dad, I didn't mean it." Jungkook whispered softly, worries filled eyes landing on his father.

"No Jungkook. You're exactly right. Ever since you're gone, I realised how foolish I was to always spend my time on earning money instead of enjoying the love and family I always had. I wish I could spend more time with your mother too, look after her and-" Jungkook's father tore up with the memories of his late beloved wife.

Jungkook's hands instantly rubbed his father's back, pitiful eyes reading expressions of his father.

"Y-you know what? You're exactly like her." Jungkook's father now faced him, staring at Jungkook's face with his teary eyes.

"She was just the way you are. Very beautiful, charismatic and of course an all rounder. She always took care of me, made me coffee in the morning a-and... and one day I lost it." His father started crying, breaking Jungkook's heart.

"Having you around was like having her around. And now I miss her even more."

Watching his father break down into tears had tears in Jungkook's eyes as well. He never saw his father like that before. The tough mature rich business man was now old, grey haired and weakened by the time, both physically and mentally.

Jungkook leaned in his embrace, laying his head on his father's shoulder for a tight hug, that's all he could do at the moment.

"I... I'm sorry dad. I just c-can't."

"Tell me one reason at least. I will only try to do something for you." His father requested.

"I just can't..."

"Why? Is she the problem?" His father broke the hug and Jungkook looked away at her mention, giving his father a clue of it.

"You saw us together? Is this why?" His father asked and now Jungkook turned around.

"Dad please... can you just not?"

"Is she really the reason?" He asked again and Jungkook took a deep breath.

"I don't want to interfere in your life. I don't care who you are with."

"But why not? You're my son and if someone is the reason behind any mishappening then as a father I need to make sure my son is okay."

"Dad, I'm completely okay. I just don't want to interfere in your relationships." Jungkook stood up now.

"Why not?" His father asked again and Jungkook literally lost his temper.

"Because I was the reason you lost mom, I was the reason your last girlfriend left you and now that you're happy with her, I don't wanna be the reason anymore." Jungkook shouted frustratedly and his father stood up too, face showing disappointment by his words.

"Stop it Jungkook! Stop talking nonsense. What made you think like this huh? What?" His father demanded and Jungkook ran his hands through his hair frustratedly.

"Dad... leave me alone." He didn't know what to say anymore.

"If she is the reason then she will be gone out of our lives by now. That's it."

"Dad, please leave me alone." Jungkook whispered weakly again, making his father walk to his side to watch his face.

Jungkook had tears in his eyes.

"You know if someone's the reason a son is running away from his father then I don't want such a reason in the house again. I only loved your mom and after her it's you. I was such a foolish man to not look after you when it was required but I can't repeat the same mistake anymore." His father said and Jungkook squeezed his eyes shut.

"You were so small... so small when you lost your mom, raised by your granny and you lost her too. I was so stupid to not be around you but I can't turn back time. I need you to know your father is here. And always will be."

Jungkook couldn't help but only shed silent tears, seriously not every life is too perfect.

His father couldn't see him crying anymore and now pulled Jungkook for a tight hug, letting his pain wash away with his embrace. Jungkook too gave in completely, feeling so vulnerable today.

He never felt like this before. He never saw his mother but he missed her and most importantly, he missed her motherly affection and love that no one could give him after his grandmother passed away too.

This is why his father tried to become his friend so he would never lack love and always feel free to share his thoughts but he couldn't help this time.

Jungkook was now standing at the balcony, smoking cigarette after cigarette when his father was gone.

He said he would come back but not too soon and his father gave him as much time as he needed, even though it was hard for him.

His father decided to leave her in hope of having his son back home who was feeling so lost now.

Jungkook felt so down and alone. Taehyung wasn't around too, making him feel even more alone.

He chugged down alcohol before helping him fall asleep because he just couldn't close his eyes peacefully, not without Taehyung's heavenly comforting embrace.

~♡~

The next morning was too spent in lonesome. Taehyung texted he would reach his college directly with Jimin and so there was no way of watching his pretty face on the day either.

Jungkook couldn't bring himself out today, not even feeling to pretend to be okay outside.

Sometimes we are just too down, we have so many reasons yet we still wonder why we are so low and at that moment we just need something or someone that makes us relieved.

And that time Jungkook could only think of Taehyung.

He just watched boring movies, eyes fixed on the clock the whole day. He would regret not going to college, at least he would see his friends but then again he just didn't want to go outside.

All he could think of was smoking cigarettes. He hesitated before pulling out the cigarette box from his drawer with a lighter before making his way to the balcony.

The house was dark and he didn't bother to light it up too. He just smoked, burning his lungs. He actually did it after a long time because having Taehyung would make him forget about nicotine.

But now he had to relieve himself anyway.
(Author nim doesn't support smoking. It's a big no no, okay? Chew chewing gums to relieve stress instead.)

He had no idea how time skipped as he was busy burning his lungs but now he heard shuffling against the door. He didn't even pay much attention to the sound as he was busy spacing out but now a pair of arms was wrapped around his torso, suddenly sending him on cloud nine.

"Didn't know I would miss you this much in a single day. How's my boyfie?" Taehyung asked with his sweetest voice, chin resting on Jungkook's shoulder who turned around now, lips tugging up in a smile.

"Baby..." Jungkook whispered, glistening eyes staring at Taehyung's pretty face.

Only Taehyung held the power, the indescribable magic to blow all his pain away. Not every life is perfect but at least Jungkook has Taehyung.

The blonde male now noticed the burnt cigarettes on the ground and one between Jungkook's fingers.

"Kookie? What's wrong?" He instantly asked, worries laced in his eyes.

"Ah no baby, nothing." Jungkook threw his cigarette, fusing it.

"Kookie..." before Taehyung could say anything Jungkook hugged him so tightly, the petite male also hugged him back, sending him vibes of comfort.

His embrace was all that Jungkook longed for. He was loved and cherished by Taehyung like he always wanted to, the pretty neighbour now completed his longed wish.

"Bad day?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook hummed, eyes closed as he felt his warmth.

"Plus you weren't around." Jungkook whispered.

Taehyung broke the hug now, cupping Jungkook's face.

"Wanna talk about it?" He asked with concern and Jungkook simply shook his head.

"Nothing to worry about."

"But it doesn't seem like." Taehyung said, pointing to the ground full of ashes.

"I...ah.. can I kiss you first?"

"No, I don't kiss people who smell like nicotine." Taehyung said sassily.

"People? Huh?" Jungkook chuckled bitterly.

"Did dad come?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook was suddenly quiet at his question, Taehyung would realise things easily.

"Yes he did... same question again."

"He must be sad too." Taehyung whispered, soft hands palm Jungkook's cheeks.

"So you want me to hear him and leave this place?" Jungkook asked with frustration and Taehyung instantly shook his head, now playing with strands of Jungkook's hoodie with pouty lips.

"He's your dad but I'm your boyfriend too."

"Oh... is that so?" Jungkook asked and encircled his arms around Taehyung's waist, pulling him closer.

"Um hmm... I'm so used to having you around."

"Really baby?"

"Hmm."

"I'm not going anywhere."

"I won't let you go either."

"You know, I fucking love you so much. Let me just kiss the life out of you." Jungkook requested but Taehyung put his index finger on his lips, resisting him to do so.

"Why don't we take a shower together? Why just kiss only? Fuck the life out of me."

And Jungkook swore if words and gestures could murder, he could've died right then and there.
