Reference of Katerina

Zaiden's POV

We pulled into the venue of the hall that was hosting the banquet and it's a private place so there wasn't paparazzi which I was thankful for because I really didn't feel like dealing with them.

I got out the car and got Auria's door open helping her out while she smiles at me. We walked along to the huge wooden doors of the hall, the doorman got the door open and we both walked in to be greeted by eyes of most person's that I know who are obviously welcomed.

Now if you think paparazzi was bad this situation was now of a paparazzi but the formal kind. I mean I know and accept that people offen want to settle deals and whatever but seriously this was not the time or place for that.

“Let's find a seat yeah?” I ask looking down at Auria and she nods. I looked around for someplace that was empty since I know Auria still gets anxiety form being around a lot of people even though she's so friendly with everyone. I don't need her panicking on me tonight so it's best to play it safe.

“Do you wanna get some food?” I ask her as we took our seat at a table on the far side of the room. “Dessert sounds better ” she say blinking at me “fine” I tell her not bothering to argue as I would probably not get my way anyways.

I waved a waitress over and she told her what she needed which I think is berries and cream crepes and I just got red wine since this was indeed a banquet and that's all people ever do is drink wine and champagne sometimes I do have to wonder if it's tradition or something. Did someone wake up one day and say ‘from now on, we'll only drink at any formal event’ and everyone just listened like you will rarely see people eating at a banquet unless it's something that was literally created around the base of food.

“Mr.Vaughn” came a voice making me snap my head up and if I was light headed I would've probably fell from my seat “damn, old man it's been a while” I say standing immediately hugging him. “Yeah, a whole ass year is a while” he says patting my back “what are guys doing here?” I ask pulling away going to hug a smiling Alex I swear this man his always smiling.

“A little birdy pinched me you know so” he says shrugging and I swear dad be doing the most  sometime. I look back to a confused Auria who awkwardly smiled at me and I gave her my hand which she took carefully standing. “Guys this is  Auria I'm assuming you've heard alot” I tell them because of course why wouldn't they. “Of course we've heard a lot are you kidding, and she's even more prettier in person” uncle Alex says making her blush she's so cute. “Baby, this is uncle Xander he is dad's best friend and unlce Alex and he is mom's best friend” I introduce them as they waved smiling at her.

“I can't believe you've grown so much and why won't you come visit us?” Alex ask and I smile down at him really I think he knows why I don't go to visit them I hardly even wanna go visit my parents. “Well actually-” I was saying trying to come up with an excuse before “Zaiden!?” came my name in an awe tone and I look to see the one and only “Katerina?” I ask stunned because there's no way she has grown this much, the last time I saw her she was just in the seventh grade and you will not believe how big she's gotten since then.

She got to me hugging me as I had to squat a bit to hug her as she was as short as uncle Alex is but yeah I'm not about to tell him that. “Look how big you've gotten you are no Bambie now are you?” I ask as that was my nickname for her since forever “obviously ” she says all sassy making me laugh “kat this is Auria and this is their daughter ” I say to her as she shook hands with the girl that was almost as tall as she was “it's nice to meet you” kat says smiling “same here” My baby says being friendly and sweet as usual.

“Alright we'll let you two be now” Xander says as he hugs me once more and they all waved at Auria before walking away and we took our seats once more. To be honest after a year it was so good to see them again and I will definitely make some effort to go to Bakersfield sometime to see everyone even though I hate it.

“They seems like nice people” Auria says pulling my attention to her as I nod “they are” I tell her sincerely and she smiles at me cutely.

“I need to go to the bathroom ” she say and I stood taking her hand in mine while she used her free hand to hold the bottom of her dress so she could walk. And yes I do have to follow her to the bathroom I'm not trying to have an historic recurrence also I don't think I can get over what happened so if she needs to go I'll just go with her for my own sake and I think she has gotten fairly used to me following her around.

After I was sure it's safe I went to stand by the door and let her go do whatever women do in the bathroom. I got a call from Asher and even though I knew exactly what he wanted I still pick because I know he'll be annoying.

“Asher?” I ask tiredly “hey man are we good for when y'all gets back it's been hours ” he says and I almost laugh at his whining , “yes we're good Asher and don't rush it this is a huge deal you know” I tell him  as I was literally dying inside “well fine just hurry yeah?” he asks “fine” I tell him before ending the call just as Auria came walking out the door. “Ready?” I ask and she nods with that beautiful smile on her face.

Once we got back we took our seat for a moment until I was getting into my own head space a bit too much but fortunately for me a live band started playing jazz music and officially I just now feel like it's time.

“Care to dance?” I ask and her eyes came in contact with mine as her cheeks went to a deep shade of red “yes, I'd love to” she says as I stood taking her hand in mine once more walking us over to the dance floor.

Her hand settled on my shoulders while mine found their way around her waist as our bodies started swaying in sync I didn't even know she was this good of a dancer.“Jazz is so much better when it's live I had no idea” she says and I had to agree I've had my fair share, “it is, so much better ” I say smiling at her.

“You know your eyes are so beautiful, I want our baby to have them so girls will fall head over heels when they look into them just as I did with you” I tell her truthfully, “your so sweet it's weird sometimes ” she says smiling even this warms my heart. “You have no idea how much I love you like I just never want to see you sad ever, I want to make sure you're always happy and smiling just like you are now”I say sincerely “I'm always happy when I'm with you” she says in the most soft and cute way.

“I found the reason for my smile, the day I found you and you deserve the world and all the good things it has to offer and I wanna give you everything even if you think it's too much ” I tell her “why are saying all these things?” she asks with a shaky voice and I smile down at her as we weren't even moving anymore.

“Because you're literally the mother of my child and I don't just want that Auria I want all of you and I want forever with you, do you remember the day I got you this?” I asked her lifting her hand that held the promise ring and she looks at it and nods. “Well I know that since that day not everything has been perfect but look at us now we're here together and in one piece” I say sighing “what I'm trying to say is I wanna be with you beyond forever, I wanna always be there so I can protect you, I want our son to grow to using us as role models and just as we're dancing here today this is how I want it to be on our wedding day” I finish as she stares at me confused “W-what are you t-talking about?” she asks as a stray tear found it's way down her cheek and I got down on one knee in front of her as she started crying.

“it's been a long time coming my love and I'm so happy my eternity will be with you, now I want to change one thing about our life and that's this” I tell her taking the ring from it's place on her finger. “I would love for you to grow old with me, and of course I want a new beginning and that will be the moment you say yes” I say grabbing the the ring from my jacket pocket.

“So...Auria Nailey Perez, will you make me the happiest man in the world by marrying me?” I ask and if I say I'm nervous at this moment that would be a total lie because I am fucking neurological.

“Yes, yes I'll marry you” she says and I stood immediately connecting our lips in a kiss full of love and warmth we parted some time after “I love you so much” she says cutely “I love you even more” I tell her placing my lips on hers once more and as we parted for the second time I place the ring on her finger and a mob of congratulations came and Auria turned around looking at everyone in shocked.

Yes I did plan all of this and yes I flew everyone over here which was one of her unexpected surprises of the night I mean I couldn't just not have everyone to celebrate with, did I mention that I like attention, yes? Okay.

“Oh my god, Ari I swear if I'm not your maid of honor ” Zalia says hugging her “congrats man” Asher and Noah both said at the same time and I pull my brows together looking at them “y'all are spending too much time together ” I tell them as they hug me and went on to Auria “hey Z, I'm stealing her for  a while ” Zalia says pulling Auria away along with her and Jace, I swear this girl won't let me be.

“So when's the wedding?” someone ask from behind me and I turn to see it's mom “maybe not in two months time” I say as she laughs hugging me “I swear you were only this big the other day now you're almost married” she says almost in a sad tone and I pull away to look at her “it's okay, I'm still your baby right? ” I ask and she smiled at me “of course you are” she says and I hug her once more kissing her cheek.

The night went on with us getting best wishes from everyone and I can't begin to explain how happy I am that I was only one step away from calling Auria mine forever. I want nothing more than what I've got here and now, This was absolutely perfect I feel so confounded I've got everything that I wanted out of life and even more. Now there's two important things to look forward to in the future and I couldn't be more overwhelmed that those will both include the most wonderful person in the world and of course in my life.

“What are you thinking about?” came her beautiful voice gracing my ears and I blink to focus my vision on her gorgeous face were her make up was once more perfect. “You, and this little guy” I say placing my palm against her baby bump just as I felt like he moved “did you feel that!?” I ask her all happy and smiles and she nods “someone wants to acknowledge his dad I see” she says and I can't with how much happiness I was feeling in just this moment. I went to kiss her belly and them her straight on the lips “ I love you two so so much” I tell her pecking all over her face while she giggles cutely “we love you too” she say as I place my lips on hers once more.
