~Pete's POV~

I could hear movement. I could hear the sounds of metal clanging against metal. I was slowly drifting back into consciousness. Soon, I was able to find the strength to actually open my eyes.

I was strapped to the same standing table as I was the last time they took me. I was in the same room, but there was no body laying across the metal table pushed off to the side. I goaned and tried to pull against my restraints to no avail. My whole body was in pain...

"What a surprise!" I heard that feminine giggle that filled me with anger. She popped into my view just then, smiling her demented smile. "Finally awake? It's only been, what, almost two days? Tisk, tisk! Patrick was worried..."

Two days!? What!?

"What did you do to him!?" I yelled. I tugged against my restraints, "What are your abilities that you can hurt him!?"

She laughed. Her red hair was down and free now, resting just by her shoulders. She whipped a strand just behind her ear and leaned into my face.

"My gift is your fear. I can bring your fears to life! Amplify them in a way. Well...Your at the moment ones at least..." Her blue eyes trailed along my face and stopped at my lips.

"Your biggest fear was hurting... But also hurting Patrick somehow..." She took one of her fingers and traced its sharp nail along my cheek, "His biggest fear was himself and seeing you, that poor colorfully inked boy, hurt..." She leaned up into my ear and whispered her closing words, "So I could kill two birds with one stone by just hurting you..."

"But why?" I asked as she pushed away from my ear, "Why are you doing this to us?"

As the words left my mouth, the sound of doors opening echoed. Doctor Walker stiffened. I heard footsteps and had a terrible feeling of who they belonged to.

Just as I feared, Doctor Lite stepped into my view. His flawless white outfit remained as sterile as ever as he stopped just in front of me.

"Because it was under my order." He said simply. He turned over to Doctor light and almost cooed to her, "Here Leslie... My precious pet..."

"Pet?" I looked at him in disgust. Is that really all we were?

"Look at her Mr. Wentz." He told me, still facing doctor Walker, "Usually they're blue, aren't they?.."

I did what he said and looked at her. Her eyes weren't blue. They where white. Solid white. Completely white without a single speck of color.

She had her head tilted as she stood perfectly still, facing the doctor with her blank eyes.

"Leslie here was one of the first successful experiments..." The doctor beckoned her forward and she went to him like an unsure puppy. He put his arm around her and began stroking her hair.

"Experiments? Is this your ultimate fucking goal!?" I raised my voice.

"Not at first Mr. Wentz..." The doctor focused more on Leslie rather than me, "It was the full intention to make those of your genome normal to society...Sadly, that ended up taking a few tries...Your friend, Andy, was a trial patient before he escaped. When we reclaimed him, he sadly didn't survive the process... And he was so promising..."

My heart sank. Andy was dead. Somehow, I already knew, but it still stung. He had become a mentor, a guide, a friend...

"But back to my point...I began to notice strange patterns in some of the DNA of those I collected...Including my dear Leslie here and your friend; Mr. Way was it?"

"Gerard?.." I asked quietly. I remembered the last time they took him very well. I didn't even know if he was back at his room yet...

"Yes! Thank you... Those with more psychic abilities. I found a way to make it work to my advantage... To make them work to my advantage. With enough tinkering and breakdown, I could be the one manipulating them other than the usual method."

"You can control them..." I looked at Leslie and her blank gaze. Reverse mind control? Or just kinda mind control?..

"Yes! And soon after Leslie here, I could begin to manipulate other abilities, non psychic abilities! With only minor casualties as well."

"Like Andy?" I asked through gritted teeth.

"I tried my best to save him, Mr. Wentz, the gift of temporary invisibility is incredibly valuable-"

"You only wanted to abuse his abilities." I shot at him, ignoring the fear that was building inside of me from his presence.

"To use his abilities." Doctor Lite corrected, "Just like Tyler and Josh. Sadly, they and Leslie are my few success stories... Or at least they were."

I think my heart stopped beating. What was that supposed to mean? And where was Patrick? What had they done with Patrick?

"Gerard!" Doctor Lite hollered into the air.

Moments later, I heard the sound of the door once again followed by footsteps. I was afraid of what I would see, and my fears were recognized when Gerard stepped into my vision.

His eyes were solid black. They were polar opposites of Leslie's eyes, but they still had the same blankness to them. He stopped at doctor Lite, who positioned him next to Leslie.

"Remarkable, isn't it?" He asked, looking between them, "Leslie is the only one with white eyes...My other pets all have black...well, not all anymore..."

"They're not pets, they're people!" I yelled. He whipped around and glared at me, "Human people! You can't just do this!"

In response to my words, the doctor stood still. It wasn't until a moment later that I felt a stabbing pain in my side from out of nowhere. I cried out and the doctor held up his hand.

"That's quite enough, Tyler." He said. The pain stopped and I saw someone appear next to doctor Lite. He wore a ski mask over his face, and held a sharp instrument in his hand. "Good boy." He told the ski masked man.

I was breathing heavily. Looking at Tyler's eyes, I could only see more black with no sign of any other color. The pain in my side that he had caused stung.

"They're people that follow my instruction." Doctor Lite continued his speech, "The process to get there is just a bit painful... And hard."

"That could fit the description of a few things..." I muttered lowly under my breath.

"Let's discuss Gerard, shall we?" He continued, either ignoring or not hearing my comment, "Because he was an extremely difficult one to crack. That link with his boy toy of his had to be broken. That was the main thing holding us back."

"Why?" I questioned.

"With that link, it meant that he could find strength from his partner." The doctor said simply, "Break the link, loose the strength. The more he forgot, the easier it was. Just yesterday we were able to erase that electrical marvel completely from his memories, finally granting us full access."

"When they don't remember..."

"We take more than just their day, Mr. Wentz..." Doctor Lite had a small, sadistic grin spreading along his face, "We take other memories as well...but not that they'll ever know! They've simply... Forgotten."

"But the way they act!" I couldn't wrap my head around this. I had never seen doctor Walker with eyes other than her normal blue. I couldn't be sure for the Josh or Tyler guy, but I was certain for her. "The way their eyes..."

"Part of the cover!" Doctor lite raised his hand and snapped his fingers. Immediately, the eyes of his self deemed 'pets' were normal colors for eyes. Gerard's were their hazel, Leslie's were her blue, and Tyler had a dark brown color.

"They can act freely, but for the most part, they are mine. There are certain words and phrases that they will not be allowed to discuss because of the mental block that I have put in place, but most of what they do is on my order."

I looked at doctor Lite. He was a fucking mad man. He literally killed to bring this, of all things, to life? A cure to cancer, a way to find peace, and he was focused on bending the minds of those with abilities to his whim?

"Tell me, Mr. Wentz," He suddenly spoke up, "it was you that came in with Mr. Urie?"

I nodded, slightly unsure where he was going to lead his next spurt of words.

"So you know of the psychic that was attached to him."

"Ryan?.." I blurted out quietly. I couldn't help it.

"Was that his name? What a pity case...He was going to be so helpful." Doctor Lite sighed, "He was powerful, yet so fragile that a single bullet was able to leave him lifeless."

"Shut up about him." I felt my fists clentch at my side. By taking Ryan away, he had taken part of Brendon with him. A spark that would never come back.

"Fine. How about we move on to Mr. Stump, shall we?"

I stiffened. Patrick. I didn't want to think about what they may have done to him.

"He's still alive, so you can calm down." Doctor Lite instructed, "He's just viewing the world differently now."

"No, please." I felt tears building in my eyes, "Not him, please not him. Why didn't you take me, no not him!"

"You have something preventing me from access!" The doctor said loudly, "I have tried! Why do you think you remembered?" He asked, "Because I couldn't make you forget."

He turned to Tyler and whispered something in his cloth covered ear. Tyler nodded and his eyes flashed black, once again. He had vanished in the blink of an eye, leaving only empty air where he was previously standing.

"I know you have no psychic ability..." The doctor mumbled, "So what's keeping me out?.." He looked between Gerard and Leslie, but did nothing. The two continued to stand obediently where they had been placed, staring blankly at nothing.

"They're so empty..." I said quietly. Gerard always had so much behind his eye, but now it was just a cold, desolate wasteland of emptiness.

"Yes." Doctor Lite replied shortly, "As it must be."

I heard the door again, followed by multiple footsteps. I felt tears trailing down my cheek, but I remained quiet. I watched as Tyler walked back into my sight, lining up next to Gerard with his black eyes. Next came someone in a similar ski mask I could only assume to be Josh. He followed Tyler's lead and stood next to him.

The last set of footsteps were slow, as if deliberately creating anticipation. I tried to blink away fresh tears from falling. Doctor Lite was looking just beyond my field of vision, smiling proudly.

"He was honestly fun to play with...I could have converted him sooner, but his connection to others after so long of being alone..." Doctor Lite snickered.

"Please..." I chocked on the word. The footsteps were almost to where my field of vision around me started.

I didn't want to see it. I didn't want to see him like that.

"Letting him build a connection with you was such a fantastic thing." Doctor Lite laughed, "It just made it that much more fun..."

The footsteps continued and I looked down. I heard them beside me...Then in front of me...Then they stopped. I almost couldn't bring myself to do it. I lifted my head to look at the person in front of me. I couldn't hold back my tears now.

Patrick stood in front of me with a blank expression and yellow, glazed over eyes.
