THE AMOUNT OF RELIEF all of the Pogues were feeling was unreal. Everything else that had mattered suddenly didn't matter as much right then. All they could do was think about John B and how they were going to clear his name.

"So, are we going to the Bahamas or what?" JJ asked.

"Dude, there's no way we're getting to the Bahamas," Pope said.

"John B is gonna get nabbed sooner or later, so if we're gonna clear his name then we're gonna have needed to do it, like, yesterday," Kiara said.

"We just need to figure out how to prove that Rafe was the one that did it, not John B," Carson said.

"I'll tell you how we'll do it," JJ said.

"Oh, so you have it all planned out?" Pope questioned.

"As a matter of fact, I do."

"This will be good," Carson said as he leaned back against the bench to hear what wild plan JJ concocted this time.

"We kidnap Rafe," he said.

"I'm sorry, what?" Pope said.

"We kidnap Rafe, tie him up, and stick the gun in his mouth and just wait til he starts squawking," JJ said.

"Yep, knew it would be good," Carson said.

"You know, torture's a war crime," Kiara pointed out.

"I thought it was a good idea," JJ said.

"So, how exactly do you plan on clearing John B's name from a prison cell?" Pope said. "Because that's a felony."

"Maybe he can be cellmates with Rafe," Carson said. "And then JJ can shank him in the middle of the night. Or, or, better, make him his bitch! And since Rafe can't handle that, he'll end up confessing just to get out of the same cell as JJ."

"You know, sometimes your input is just as unhelpful as JJ's," Pope said.

"I liked it," JJ said.

"Thank you."

"Okay, you two are never in charge of coming up with any sort of plan," Pope said.

"Alright, well, what do you got, Pope?" JJ asked. "I was just trying to keep it simple. You know, one stop and we're done."

"Guys, all we need is a material witness," he said. "We saw Ward's plane fly right over our heads with the gold inside of it. He didn't fly it, somebody else was flying it. They were there at the tarmac. They saw Peterkin get murdered. We just have to find whoever that was and get them to confess on record."

"How did we do that?" Kiara asked. As much as it made sense, Carson had a feeling it was not going to be as easy as it sounded. Nothing ever was.

"A little light espionage," Pope said.

"A little ghost recon," JJ said with a smile.

"Woogity-woogity?" Pope said.

"Woogity-woogity, baby!" JJ said.

"If this guy flew planes for Ward, he's gotta be pretty tight-lipped," Pope said. They were on their way to the pilot's house to see what they could find out.

"So then direct approach gets my vote," JJ said as he clicked his gun.

"JJ, no. Put the gun down, man," Pope said.

"Guys! We gotta keep this simple or we'll never get John B off," he said.

"You realize bringing a gun into this will not keep it simple, right?" Carson said. She was starting to have flashbacks to the night of the kegger. She supposed him shooting the gun into the air had been effective, but it still was not the best solution.

"Or we just tickle the wire," Pope said.

"What?" Kiara said.

"We tickle the wire."

"Damn, Pope, keep it clean," Carson joked.

"Whatever you're thinking, keep it in your head," he said before explaining what it really meant. "I plant my phone in his car, and then we listen in on your earpods." Once again, it sounded a lot easier than Carson was sure it was going to be. Plus, she wasn't so sure Shoupe would appreciate the way they were going to get the evidence if he found out about it.

"So, how's it been going, you know, with Pope and all?" JJ randomly asked Kiara as they waited for Pope to get back.

"It's good," she said simply.

"It's good, alright," he said. "In the bedroom, is he, like kinda freaky, 'cause it's Pope, you know?"

"Why are you asking?" Kiara asked.

"I don't know, just kinda curious."

"Are you jealous of Kie?" Carson teased. "Because, like, if you want Pope, all you have to do is tell me."

"Shut up," he said. "I'm just spitballing here."

"You don't need to spitball," Kiara said. "We could sit in silence." They sat in silence for a while before JJ began talking again.

"Ranking-wise-"

"Oh, you're still asking?" Kiara interrupted him.

"Yeah, I was just curious," he said.

"You're still curious."

"Is John B better?" he asked.

"What?" she exclaimed.

"Oh, please stop talking," Carson groaned. Thankfully, Pope would take them out of their misery when he got back in the car.

"Okay, phase one is complete," he said. He looked over at them, just to find them all looking a bit uncomfortable. "Everything- are we all good?"

"You don't want to know," Carson said vaguely. He furrowed his eyebrows at her in confusion. She just ignored him, not in the mood to have to explain the odd conversation that just ensued. "So, when do we start the tickling?"
