STUPID THINGS have good outcomes all the time. JJ's philosophy wasn't exactly the best to follow, but it was the one they were going to follow that night. If they only had around 12 hours to do whatever the hell they wanted before they had to face reality again, then they would take advantage of it.

Carson let out a laugh as John B screamed and JJ shotgunned a beer. While the hot tub had once been an object that represented sadness and despair, it was now being used for fun. Part of her could never forget the events that took place involving the hot tub, but she would push past that for now so she could have fun with her friends.

"Don't hurt him, he's fragile," Carson joked as Pope took JJ down in a wrestling match.

"When did you start wrestling?" John B asked.

"I don't know," Pope laughed. "I'm done. I'm out of here." He threw his arms into the air and began walking away. Kiara seemed to have her own ideas in mind because she casually stood from where she was sitting to follow after Pope.

"Get it, girl!" Carson yelled. "Shoot your shot!"

"Way to be discreet!" JJ added. Carson laughed and went to the cooler to get more beers, tossing one to the rest of them as Kiara and Pope went off. As she walked past JJ, he wrapped his arm around her waist from behind and pulled her towards him until she was sitting across his lap. She smiled before turning her head to press her lips against his, feeling happier than ever to be with him and their friends again.

"What ever happened to no Pogue-on-Pogue macking?" Sarah said.

"I blame JJ," Carson said.

"How is this my fault? You kissed me first, remember?" he said.

"You got arrested," she said.

"So, if this thing ends up going south and John B gets arrested, are you gonna go and kiss him?" JJ joked.

"Don't tempt me. Maybe criminals are my type," Carson played along.

"You heard it here first. Watch your man, Sarah," JJ said. Sarah let out a laugh, not taking any of it seriously as it was obviously a joke.

At the mention of John B, Carson glanced over to find him standing at the tree that they engraved his name into when they thought he was dead. She sighed and gave JJ another kiss before gently pulling out of his grip to walk over to her friend. When she got to him, she weaved her arm through his and rested her head on his shoulder. He started tearing up the second her head hit his shoulder so he reached over and let his hand rest on top of hers that was gripping his bicep.

"You're not allowed to die on us again," she told him.

"I'm so sorry, Car," he said. She nodded her head and reached her hand up to wipe away the tears that rolled down her cheek. JJ must have seen what was happening because he walked over to stand with his best friends. "It's a cute art project." JJ nodded his head solemnly, clearly getting emotional from the thought of John B's death too. "Killed the tree though." They let out a laugh.

"Probably, yeah," JJ said. They looked over at each other and got serious again before JJ walked closer to them. "I freaking missed you, man." He wrapped his arms around John B and Carson. The three of them stood there with tears in their eyes as they embraced one another for the first time since being all back together.

They had continued their partying when suddenly John B turned his head and cut JJ off.

"Wait, wait, wait," he said.

"What?"

"What was that?" John B said.

"Your chicken?" JJ offered.

"I heard a car door," he said. It was possibly his paranoia kicking in to make him think that but they couldn't take any chances. If someone knew that they were there then they didn't want to know what trouble could come. JJ started clucking to imitate the chicken but John B was quick to throw his hand over his mouth. It wasn't the time to joke around when John B's life was at risk.

"He's right, someone's here. We need to hide," Carson said. They quickly put out the fire and began climbing the tree to get a higher vantage point. They didn't have much time to try finding a spot in the house either. When they realized it was Rafe and Barry, they all looked over at each other with concern in their eyes. If Rafe was there, his intentions were not good. He had killed Peterkin so they wouldn't hold it against him to do the same to them, especially when they could testify the truth.

Clearly their decision to hide up in the tree was the best one because Rafe and Barry seemed to have no idea they were up there. Just as Carson thought, Rafe seemed to be extremely on edge and irritated that they were no longer there. They started making fun of the P4L with John B's "grave" marked in the tree which made Carson want to throw something down onto their heads but she just gripped the tree bark to restrain herself from losing her temper.

"So, your sister's a Pogue for life, huh, Rafe? Now who would've thought?" Barry teased. It was clear that this just set Rafe off because he lost it.

"Shit!" he screamed. He began shooting the gun at the tree, so they all ducked closer in attempt not to get shot. He had already shot Sarah once so they couldn't afford anything else to happen. Carson tried not to let out a gasp when a bullet hit the branch that JJ was hiding behind. In a twist of events, Barry was the one who began calming Rafe down too, which for once, Carson was grateful for. They all let out breaths of relief when they finally left, but the truth was that their presence in the Outer Banks was known.
