I ended up crashing on the first couch that I managed to sit on. It was later on that night when I felt someone touch my shoulder.

Snapping away, I almost bump heads with George.

"Hey, it's just me," he says smiling, "You were asleep, we didn't want to wake you."

I look around the room, "Where is everyone?"

He sits down beside me, "They've already turned in for the night, I thought this would give us a chance to talk."

I nod, all the practicing, the rehearsing that I had done about this moment didn't have me one but prepared. I felt like every nerve in my body was on alert and I couldn't think where to begin.

"I think" he starts before I have a chance to speak, "I think I can be okay with you being on friendly terms with Malfoy."

My eyes widen in surprise.

"I was upset the other day, possibly jealous seeing him that close to you, but I don't want you to not have friends, even if they are once that I don't like."

I bite my lip, thinking how much it will hurt him when I tell him that I had been on a more than friendly basis with Draco.

"I trust you Leianna," he continues, "I may not trust him, but if you want to be friends with him, I can accept that. I just don't want to lose you."

Well damn....

"I think we really have something between us and I don't want to throw it all away because of my insecurities."

I couldn't tell him, there was no what I could bring myself to hurt him like that. I needed wait, this wasn't the time, not after everything he just said.

"Please say something," he says as he reaches out and takes my hand, "Say something, let me know that we are okay."

I muster up a smile on my face even thought my insides were churning, "We're okay George."

He lets out a breath, "Thank Merlin." He pulls me to him in a hug. I close my eyes, my mind drifting to what I would exactly tell Draco now.

Why did Umbridge have to be such a pain in the ass? I see now why so many people hate her.

We haven't been practicing self defense at all, instead she has us writing stupid papers that gave us no real knowledge about protection from the dark arts.

I had my D.A.D.A book out in front of me looking up what I needed to write the paper.

"Studying?" Draco asks catching my attention. I look up at him and then back down at my book.

"I'm trying to," I reply glancing up once again. I look around to see if anyone had noticed us talking.

Luckily there are only two other students in here at the time and they were not paying us any attention.

"So how did it go with Weasley the other night?" he asks, "Did you tell him?"

I search the pages of my book, avoiding his gaze, "I couldn't bring myself to."

"I knew you couldn't do it."

My eyes meet his, "You didn't see him, you didn't hear everything he was saying to me. I couldn't hurt him like that."

He lets out a sigh, "Is this really what you want Leianna? You were so sure breaking up is what you wanted just the other day, and now, here you are still in a relationship to protect someone else's feelings, what about your own?"

I bite my lip, it was hard to respond to him. I cared for George, deeply, but I did plan on ending things with him. I just care for him so much that I didn't want to break his heart, not when he poured it out to me in the common room last night. That would be just cruel.

"I will do it when the time is right," I finally decide to say, "Promise me you won't cause any issues till then."

A mischievous smile spreads on his face, "Me, cause issue? That doesn't sound like me."

I snort and roll my eyes, "Yeah, sure it's not. Seriously though, no funny business."

He stands straight and crosses him chest, "I promise to be a good boy."

I narrow my eyes at him and smile.

"Let's go do something," he tells me, "We could go explore the Room of Requirements again, find things, get lost."

"Wow, you are really working on being good aren't you," I say sarcastically.

"I didn't say lets go snog in there," he replies shaking his head, "Honestly Leianna, where is your mind at."

"Uh huh," I say shortly smiling, "I know you better than that."

This causes his smile to grow even wider. He walks to where he is behind me where he places a hand on my shoulder, I felt my heartbeat quicken by our proximity.

He leans in close to my ear "It is just two friends hanging out, what is the harm in that?"

I lay my book down and try to keep my nerves calm by his closeness "I think I will pass on that."

I could feel him smirking behind me, "Come on.. Lei.."

"There you are," a girl says cutting off his words, "I've been looking for you."

I turn to see Pansy Parkinson with her hand on Draco's shoulder, and a scowl on his face.

He straightens and brushes her hand away, "And maybe I was trying not to be found, what do you want?"

"I wanted to see if you would like to hang out in the common room," she answers and leans in closer it Draco, "It's empty."

"I think I will pass," Draco tells her quickly and shortly.

I stifle a laugh and look away.

"What's so funny Sweary?" she snaps at me. Her face had turned a deep crimson.

"To be honest Parkinson you and your frantic attempts to get to Draco to like you." I didn't like this girl, nothing about her set well with me. Her rudeness or her ego, she needed to be brought down to size.

"So you two are on a first name bases now huh?" she says in return ignoring my put down. The question was directed to Draco, not me.

"Yes," he replies which kind of shocked me and it apparently shocked her too.

"Since when?"

"Since she spent the entire break with me," he explains while glancing over at me.

I felt my cheeks heat up at the impression that he gave her.

"She spent the break with you?" So much shock was in her voice, " I thought you said your mother doesn't allow you to bring girls home?"

"Oh she does," he replies leaning on the back of my chair. I pretend to be lost in my book, not wanting to be part of the conversation, I knew what he was doing.

"She does when it someone I want her to."

"But..."

"Will you please just go Pansy," Draco cuts her off, "Your just embarrassing yourself now."

She lets out a frustrated breath and stomps off without another word.

Once she was out of the library I twist in my seat to look at Draco, "That was harsh, even for her."

"She deserves it."

"And you just had to add in the fact I stayed with you over break, was that really necessary?"

He grins at me, "I knew that would really get under her skin."

"Vindictive much?"

"Well it's in my nature to be," he replies as he places his hand to his chest.

"I noticed."

"That hurts," he states trying to sound upset. "But I'm willing to forgive you if you will agree to meet me at midnight in the observatory."

"I don't know, I have a lot of homework to do," I reply as I reach down picking my book back up but before I could even open it, he snatches it out of my hand.

I glare at him, "Give it here."

He shakes his head, "Not until you say you will."

"You're not being funny."

"I know, I'm serious," he replies back.

"Seriously Draco, give me my book," I say as I reach for it . He pulls it back at the last second.

"Draco, give it."

"Meet me," he says, "I just want to show you something."

I reach for the book again and he back up shaking his head.

"Oh fine, there you happy?" I give up.

He smiles smugly and hold the book out to me. I snatch it away from him before he could think twice.

"Must you have everything your way?" I ask as I turn back to the page I was on.

He laughs, "Of course I do."

I see him glance up to where two of his friends walk into the library.

I knew immediately that it was Crabbe and Goyle, his followers and they seemed really out of breath.

"Well I will see you then," he states as he turns and walks away leaving me alone to finally study...

"Goyle, Crabbe, what are you two doing here?" I ask as I walk over to the two big loofs that I call friends.

"There you are, we've been looking everywhere for you," Goyle says breathlessly.

"Well what is it then?"

"Who was that girl you were talking to?" Crabbe asks.

"That would be none of your business now tell me why you were looking for me?" I ask growing impatient.

"They were told to tell you Snape was looking for you," Blaise says walking in from behind the two.

"That's it?" I ask Blaise who was looking at me with an odd curious look in his eyes.

"Draco, how are things going with the project of yours," he asks looking over my shoulder to where Leianna was reading her book.

"Good," I reply flatly.

"What project?" Goyle asks looking from me to Blaise.

"Draco betted that he could shag the girl over there before the end of the year," Blaise answers him, "Which seems to be proving harder than he thought he would be.

I glance around to make sure no one was listening in on the conversation.

"What is it Draco? Nervous she might hear?" Blaise asks tauntingly.

"No, and you better watch it Blaise."

"You do seem like you have grown rather fond of her, perhaps you have developed some feelings for her," he states.

" I would love to sit here and listen to you bullshit all day but I have to meet with Snape," I tell him as I push past with force. I didn't have time for him to try and pick a fight with me. Feelings be damned, I would finish the best just to shove it back in his face.

Leianna

I will not meet him at the observatory... I will not...

I stare at the ceiling repeating those words over and over. Every once in a while I will sneak a peek at the clock to check the time and with each time, when it came closer to midnight I repeat the words even more.

I glance back at the clock to see it was almost twelve.

With a big sigh I push back my covers.

I would go see what he wanted and then I will leave. He promised no funny business, but then again, it was Draco. Every time in the past it started out harmless but always led to something else.

I reach over to my stand and pick up my robe and slide on my shoes. I tuck my wand into the pocket of my robe, just in case I would need it.

I ever so quietly tip toe out of the girl's dorm and down the stairway.

I silently walk up to the door where it opens slowly to let me out.

I exit and before I could be completely out the fat lady stops me.

"Where are you going Ms. Sweary?" she asks.

"Hello Madam, you are looking lovely tonight," I tell her saying the first generous thing that came to my mind.

"Don't even try to be nice," she sneers.

"I have forgotten my books in the library and I need them to do homework," I explain to her.

"I will need to tell the Prefe.." she goes to say before I interrupt.

"I heard you perfected the song you had been practicing," I say knowing it would catch her attention.

"As a matter of fact I did," she says smugly, "Would you like to hear?"

"Oh no not right now, I wouldn't want yo... us to wake anyone up," I tell her, "Besides I know how you sing and it's just... heart wrenching Perhaps when I return you can give me a sample."

"Very well then, run along," she says apparently accepting my fake compliment.

I walk towards the winding staircase that led to the observation tower. I hadn't personally been up there yet but I had always been wanting to.

When I make it to the tower I see a shadowy figure leaning in the doorway.

"It's about time you made it," Draco says once I was closer to make out it was him.

"I was feeling ambivalent," I explain.

"Really about what?" he asks as he pushes off of the wall.

"About coming but more precisely about being alone with you," I explain.

He raised his eye brows, "Really, what exactly did you think we were going to do?"

"Obviously not what just crossed your mind," I state as I start up the stairs.

"You don't know what I was thinking," he says as he falls in step beside me, "Lumos," he adds causing the end of his wand to light up.

"I know what you thought," I retort causing a smile to reappear on his face.

"You better be glad it isn't Wednesday," I say to him as we walk.

"Why?"

"Because that's when the astronomy class will be using the tower," I explain.

"And you think I didn't know that," he scoffs.

"So what's up here that's so important that I needed to come at midnight to see?" I ask him once we start to get closer to the top of the tower.

"It's a surprise," he says smiling wickedly, "You'll see."
