The moist smile that Julius gave Ramona made her almost drop onto her knees for the wave of affection she immediately felt for the boy, and the joy too for finally getting to see her favorite boy. And when he called her "mama", squeaking at her, happiness and surprise in the infants voice, in his every little movement and the way he looked at her. And then he kept mumbling just that one word while bouncing on her crib, trying to as if leap off and reach her.

It took less than a moment for Ramona to cross the distance to the crib in Julius nursery, pick him up and smother him with kisses.

"I missed you so much..." She was sobbing by now while smiling at the same time. Inhaling Julius's baby smell warmed her heart.

Julius tangled his little fists into her hair as the boy tried to grab her hair or any piece of her clothing in a haste, as if he was afraid she would leave again. Her injured ribs got jabbed by Julius's tiny feet making her wince. She was in pain but that was so small against the desire to hold him tighter, so she hugged the boy closer to her and closed her eyes for a moment. She didn't want to separate from him, not when she knew she had almost lost the chance to see this lovely kid ever again.

"Give him to me, Ramona, you're hurting." Evan said worriedly putting a hand lightly on Ramona's lower back and the other gently holding Julius's tiny knee to save her ribs from another attack.

Ramona smiled up at Evan, her lips quivering a little. "No. I'm fine. I just want to hold him a little more."

Sighing at the sight of love that Ramona possessed for his boy, Evan rubbed her lower back and then kissed on her forehead. His hand still holding lightly Julius's tiny legs, preventing the over-excited boy from kicking into her wounds again.

"Ehhhh..."

Julius screamed instantly seeing what Evan was doing, and it seemed like the tiny kid didn't like Evan holding him back, neither how he kissed Ramona. And Evan smiled. "Are you jealous, boy?" He said pressing his cheek on Ramona's head. Their height difference just made these small gestures look even more lovelier.

"Well, are you?" Evan cooed from his position when Julius poked his stubbly cheek with a drool covered finger.

"Ahhh..."

Julius screamed again in reply, making Evan chuckle in his deep husky voice. That just did terrible things to Ramona. How can someone get so turned from just a smile, or a laugh!

"Stop teasing my little man!" Ramona reprimanded Evan playfully.

"Oh, I was just pointing things out." Evan said while secretly a cord struck a pleasurable tone in his heart listening her say Julius 'my little man'.

Evan didn't know when he began leaning in to steal a kiss from her, and Ramona met him halfway, savoring each moment of affection she was getting from this man.

A throat clearing.

Evan and Ramona turned around to the open door startled. Their little bubble of reunion bursting from the interruption.

Oliver. Again, and for the last time barging into one of their sweet moments.

"Uh huh, showing Julius how to kiss properly? I expected just that from you guys." Oliver had a teasing smirk as he approached them.

While Evan just narrowed his eyes warningly, Ramona blushed.

"What? Aren't you guys going to shed some tears? I'm leaving!" Oliver explained feigning hurt.

Evan rolled his eyes at that. "Trust me, Oliver, everyone will be smiling in relief."

"Not him." Oliver pointed at Julius and then went to take him from Ramona. "We had bonded as best buddies. I'll be thoroughly missed."

Julius kept whining and still had an unwavering grip on Ramona's tshirt. This made everyone smile fondly. Ramona kissed soundly on Julius's cheek.

"Yeah, maybe that's why he was crying when you gifted him that little fluffy toy." Evan stated.

Oliver's tone was defensive. "Hey! Not my fault. How was I supposed to know your son would get scared of that innocent doggy for no reason."

Circling a hand around Ramona's waist Evan kind of latched her to his side. He was definitely getting sappier and cheesier as he spent more and more time around this addictive wonderful woman. "Julius's scared of backflips, and that toy was doing some terrible backflips, Oliver."

Utterly confused, Oliver looked at Julius. "Why didn't you tell me?" He asked Evan. "And why would someone be scared of backflips! Isn't it ridiculous? I mean, you can get scared of ghosts, or clowns, or spiders, or cockroaches..."

Evan kind of zoned out after that as Oliver kept going on and on with the list and then about how much weird kids were getting recently. He smiled sensing Ramona laughing silently while pressing her face into her chest.

They bid farewell to Oliver after that. Harry and Billy carried all his packed bags to Evan's waiting car as the guy refused to lift anything while blaming his injured leg. About his injured leg, Evan believed that it was better than before, and the crutch was just an excuse now to gain sympathy, a trophy and a mean of easy weapon. Or maybe Oliver had gotten too much fond of that crutch after his memorable encounter with Lucas - the psycho.

"Confusions can be destructive." Oliver had said before leaving. "Just see me as an example while I chase that idiot girl of mine. Think about Brandan, about how he had to go through hell and back to win your sister's heart. Women can be pain in the ass when you let them go. So take my suggestion, Evan, don't let yours go. Hold her when you still can."

Evan stood staring at Oliver's retreating back.

Ramona waved at her mother laughing. "Mom, I'll be fine, don't worry. You just take care of yourself. Besides you are not leaving the town, and it's a really small town. We can see each other any time we want to."

Paul and Maria was leaving for their own home at the other side of the town, their little old home with a view of the mountains at north. That part of the town was quieter than usual, but Paul and Maria liked it that way.

Maria rested a palm lovingly on Ramona's cheek. With a motherly smile she embraced her daughter into a soft hug. "I like that new boyfriend of yours, dear. Though your father have some other colorful ideas."

Ramona blushed and chuckled at the same time when Maria pulled away. She muttered a silent thanks. Maria's approval meant a lot to her. Now Ramona was more assured that she was making the right choice. It was worth risking all her emotions to be shown bare. She was more than ready now to put her heart out there in front of Evan.

She watched her parents' car getting out of the drive way. Turning she watched at the direction of Evan's house. She didn't realize when he had to slip off inside his house after talking with Paul and saying goodbye to her parents.

After dropping Oliver off at the airport, Evan had been unusually quiet. Ramona couldn't help but worry about what's been wrong with him.

Wrapping the scarf more snugly around her throat still slightly sore throat she walked down the distance towards Evan's. His front door was unlocked and she stepped into the warmth of his house without hesitating, following the noises she came into the kitchen only to come to a standstill watching the drool worthy sight before her.

Evan was there stirring what seemed like chicken in the pot, and he was shirtless. The smell in the air of what he was cooking, was absolutely drool worthy too along with the visual of his sculpted, perfect frame. The oven beeped behind him and Ramona watched him turning around to bring out a tray. The muscles on his back flexed deliciously with his every movement.

And then he turned around, his abs. She concentrated on his abs, her hands itching to touch them, the memories of touching them in their last night of passion made her tingle all over. Those biceps, yes, she had damn tightly clutched them when they rode themselves to the throne of...

He cleared his throat. His voice, rough and husky and seductive, all at once, she remembered him groaning and yeah he did scream once too after making her...

She trailed off yet again after registering something. He had been looking at her amused! She's been caught.

"How did you get in?" He asked slowly giving her a lopsided smile.

Embarrassed and all red, she looked down. "You kept the door unlocked."

"Maybe I knew you would come."

Looking up, Ramona gave him somewhat of a stern look. "With a kid in house you should avoid this kind of carelessness."

"I dropped Julius off to Nora's for the afternoon. She came by earlier to invite him to the toddler play date... or something like that in her house, apparently the moms around have gathered just for that." Evan said going back to stirring the chicken, he added some wine in it. "Come here." He added nodding at Ramona.

"Woww, nice recipe. But why didn't you go then?" Ramona asked walking over to him.

Evan shrugged. "Too much female population and I'm a loner daddy, it kinda gets awkward."

When Ramona went around the counter, Evan in two hurried movement gripped her hips avoiding smartly the wounds and after picking her up he sat her on the counter. "And about the recipe, it's Oliver's. The guy can cook. Don't ever tell him that I praised him though."

"I might, just to see..." Ramona smiled innocently when he narrowed his eyes at her playfully.

She kept watching as he cooked, and came to the conclusion that there was nothing sexier than watching a man cooking. Add to that, that man was shirtless. She made a mental note to buy him an apron that read 'kiss the cook' or something like that.

While staring at him intently, Ramona noticed how his eyebrows were now pulled together. It almost seemed like he was thinking hard about something, like he was worried, upset.

"Evan."

When he didn't respond, just kept absentmindedly cooking, Ramona's suspicion deepened. She put a hand on his bare shoulder trying to think less about the way her palm burned with heat.

Evan looked up at her, startled.

"Has something happened?" She asked with worry. "Are you alright? You've been cooking more than you should."

For a brief moment she thought she saw a lot of worries and pain swirl into his eyes, but that dissolved to nothingness the next moment.

Turning off the stove and putting a lid on the pot, Evan moved so that he stood at the spot between her legs and placed his large hands onto her hips. His thumbs began swirling on her skin, slightly under her shirt. Ramona nearly had her eyes rolled to the back of her head.

"It's you who's hurt, and you're asking me if I'm alright, Ramona?"

He didn't press too much close to her, though she craved at the moment for him to press his growing erection to her aroused core. She went as far to circle her legs around his knees and tried bringing him to press just there, sooth the aching need that he created. But the man wouldn't budge! Seriously? It was easier to move a mountain.

A frustrated whimper might have escaped her lips that sounded really funny through her sore throat. She reminded herself to gurgle often.

Smiling slyly and shaking his head, Evan pecked her lips. "We have to avoid doing such strenuous activities, lets give your ribs a couple more days to heal."

"Then you should stop turning me on. You're not making it easy." She gulped and licked her dry lips, trying to clear the haze of arousal from her mind.

The moment her tongue came out of her mouth to lick those luscious lips, Evan felt the tent in his sweats twitch and come undone, almost. He held himself back at the last moment. This woman!

"You think it's easy for me?"

Suddenly, but lightly he pressed himself to her center. Ramona gasped immediately, it sounded like a gasp of pain, but the both of them knew it was the complete opposite in real.

"Damn!" He swore under his breath. It's getting difficult by second. His length pulsed when his body decided to have a mind of it's own and his hips rolled, she responded by grinding herself against him.

"But..." He breathed heavily. "...we can do other things, and carefully."

"I like the sound of that." Ramona rasped through heavy panting.

Evan knew they wouldn't be able to make it to the bedroom. His kitchen was going to get christened. God bless the chicken he just cooked!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

That night, they were cuddling in the couch in his living room, after completing yet another round of those other things that included tongues and hands, and a lots of screams - not blood curdling but the toe curling ones. At first Evan had decided to keep their clothes on, just in case. But then, they didn't know when all of it just came off and were now splattered all over the living room. Evan smirked at the bra that was hanging off the door knob behind them, but then that smirk slipped off and a goofy smile appeared when Ramona pointed out his boxers unceremoniously thrown on top of the TV.

What they shared was mind blasting, that was for sure. And that was not just sexual, no. It was more than that, nothing could get so wonderful without at least a little bit of some hearts involved.

Ramona's eyes were almost drooping close, a satisfied little smile played on her lips as she traced the light hairs on his chest with the tip of her fingers.

"Will you be my date to my sister's wedding?"

He had asked so suddenly, that it took her by surprise. Her fingers paused dancing on his skin.

"We'll first have to be in Boston though, then leave for Hawaii for the wedding. Two private jets would take all the guests over there from Boston. Emma wants you to be there." He added.

"And you don't?" She couldn't help but ask. The way he asked her, he seemed hesitant.

"Why would you ask that? I want you to be there too. So, will you?"

Ramona resisted the frown that fought to appear on her forehead. Once again, he was speaking so fast, he had his eyes closed too as if not wanting her to see what he was really feeling, she noticed it all.

"I would like to."

Saying no to the person she loved, she couldn't do that at the moment. This wedding, it would be like a vacation too, and she felt like it would be the appropriate time and place to tell him how much she loved him.

She couldn't help but feel small inside though. Evan seemed a little different. But then she thwarted the feeling away, he might be just tired, that was all.

----------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Confusion, slight fear, nervousness... feeling all these different emotions wrecking his heart and mind Evan tried sleeping in his empty bed. A week had passed and tomorrow was the day he was going to head back to Boston, this time taking Ramona with him too.

He was feeling nervous thinking about how returning there would affect his relationship with Ramona. That city and every single thing about it, his marital home where he used to live in with Zess, the restaurants where he used to take her, the church where he married her, the park where he used to stroll with her in the evenings... it was all going to be a travel back to his past.

He felt like he was going back to Zess.

And he was going back there, with Ramona.

Would that hurt Zess? Would that taint her memories?

Would the evident of Zess and his once love filled life hurt Ramona in any way? What would she feel about the whole situation?

"Damn!"

Cursing, Evan sat back up on the bed. It felt like he was cheating on both Zess and Ramona.

To top it all, Paul and Maria, and also Harry absolutely refused to tell Ramona that she was never going to have her own children again. And Evan knew it was wrong to hide it from her, for she will be deeply hurt if she knew later that something like that was being hidden from her. If he was in her place, he knew he would.

So he felt like, it was now his responsibility to tell her something that would possibly break her. Again.

But he would surely make her understand that it didn't matter, she had Julius already.

Running a hand through his disheveled hair Evan slumped back into the plush pillows again. This time sleep did come, but also came weird and frustrating nightmares of falling into a deep pit from where he could see the moment when Lucas had almost killed Ramona, then he was seeing Zess all over again in her death bed. Her last breath animatedly clear and heart wrenching. Both of the separate incidents, losing Zess and almost losing Ramona, mashed together, making it seem like they were one.

Evan might have screamed himself back out of sleep, because he found himself sweating badly and panting for breath. Julius was crying in the next room. Great! He might have woken Julius up too.

Springing out of bed Evan glanced at the alarm clock before storming towards the nursery. It was just five in the morning. He had barely slept for about two hours.

He settled in the armchair next to Julius's crib after that as his kid slept peacefully on his chest. He rubbed slowly on Julius's back and just kept staring out the window.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

As Ramona packed the stuffs she was going to need for the wedding, she couldn't help but look back at the past week after Evan had asked her to be his date in his sister's wedding. At the moment, when he asked her, she thought he was tired or his mood was off for no reason. But throughout the last whole week, he had not changed from his absentminded, grumpy self. Yes, Evan had been this insane guy from the beginning when she met him, but recently, he had been absolutely unpredictable. One moment, he was making out with her then the next he was avoiding any kind of eye contact with her. Sometimes he would just shower her with attention and make her his center of all affection but then he would just dismiss her without a proper reason.

Closing one suitcase, Ramona kept it upright beside her bed and plopped down on the vacant place. She recalled what happened two days ago, when she accidentally had grabbed a little
