ELIJAH POV

I fucked up. I'm admitting it. Wasn't the smartest thing to do because I lost the one thing I cherished and that was my family. Sitting in my car I was parked in Jaelynn condo complex. I really miss my family like crazy. Guilt ate me up when I had to say bye to zahrie. She's very young and probably confused on why she's not home with me.

Making my way to her condo. Should I knock? Or just let myself in?. Knocking on the door I waited for Jaelynn to answer. She opened the door but she was on the phone.

"Yes ma! God what the hell you think?" She said. Now she's talking to her mom again. She better not have her father around zahrie!. "No he's here let me call you back" she said rolling her eyes.

"So you and your mom are cool again?" I asked.

"Not really. She heard what happened and wanted to see if I was handling everything okay" she said. I nodded "oh.. where's zahrie?". She looked around "she's probably in her room". Walking to her room I just took a look of the place. Our house is way better.

"Princess?" Her eyes lit up and she jumped off the bed and ran over to me "daddy!". We hugged each other. I didn't want to let her go. "I miss you princess!". She smiled "daddy!".

Walking her out with me "I'm going to take her out for a bit Okay?". Jaelynn nodded "okay have fun". Zahrie was so happy to be out with me. We ended up at a outdoor burger shake joint. "Don't tell mommy I got you ice cream okay?". She smiled "okay!".

The one thing I don't want to miss and seeing zahrie grow up every day. You know before I know it she'll be grown. Not my little girl anymore. "Having fun, princess?" She nodded as she sipped her milkshake.

JAELYNN POV

"Listen he left. Now what were you saying?" I said to my mom who came out of nowhere.

"I said you shouldn't forgive him so easily. He cheated on you! Make him suffer" she said.

"I'm just curious on why you are just now calling me when I haven't spoken to you in months" she sighed loudly on the phone "because he wouldn't let me near you or talk to you. He was very controlling when it came to you Jaelynn".

"Ma, please okay. Elijah is far from controlling. He was protecting me from your husband. You know the child rapist". Just reminding her just Incase she forgot.

"He's no longer with me. He violated parole and was sent back to jail".

"What did he do?" I asked.

"He was creeping around a school. And he's not suppose to be near a school or park. Or anywhere children are".

"Told you! You never listen! I don't know what that man has over you".

"Jaelynn listen just make him suffer. He doesn't deserve someone like you" she said.

"How did you hear about what happened anyway?" I asked.

"A friend of a friend told me. I was in shock. Thinking he loved you all this time and he just cheats like that... he's not a good man Jaelynn. Wake up! You're better than him".

Rolling my eyes "alright mom. I'm going to go and rest a little before he brings zahrie back". I didn't wait for her to answer I just hung up the phone. Looking at my feet they were starting to swell. Taking a seat on the couch and elevating my feet on the ottoman.

ELIJAH POV

Renzo met up with us. "Hey man" he dapped me. Ever since Jaelynn left there's this sadness in the house. "What's up?" I said.

"Damn man you sound depressed" he said.

"I am! I just lost the one thing I wanted. And it's my fault this time" Renzo shook his head "can't believe you cheated on her".

"Wasn't intentional it just happened. Afterwards I felt guilty. That's why I never told her about it. Thinking I could keep it on the down low. But of course the woman had to stalk me and tell her."

We watched zahrie play at the park. She was having so much fun. "I miss this the most". Renzo smiled "I know she misses you, you two are the same person".

I laughed "True. But I have to fix this. But right now I don't know how. Since Jaelynn is pregnant her emotions are all over the place. And then I walk in there to pick her up and she's talking to her mom".

Renzo wise eyed me "what?!. Nah something is up. Her mom coming out of nowhere for what?".

"Apparently she heard what happened and wanted to be there for her". Her mom is the phoniest people. Something about her I don't trust. I'm telling you if she has her mom around zahrie I'm going to flip.

"Just watch out for her mother. Because I can almost  guarantee she's bad mouthing about you to her. Making her hate you more".

Sitting there just looking at zahrie play. So many thoughts was roaming through my mind. I have to find a way to fix this before she either gives birth or moves on.

LISTEN LAST CHAPTER WAS HARD ENOUGH. BUT KNOW THERES ALWAYS A TWIST SOMEWHERE CIRCLING AROUND!
