A month later...

"I think this would fit nicely together" I said. My client nodded "you're right! Thank you so much". I smiled "you're welcome. It's what I'm here for". She grabbed the items and left my office. Man I'm tired. A nap sounds good right about now. Luckily Elijah's so called case got dropped. We never found out who planted that drug in his car.

Or maybe I didn't do my investigate as lengthy as if it was Alexis but I didn't care enough to find out. And I can't fight either so there's no point.

My work was done for today. I left my office and on my way home. My phone went off alerting me I have a message. How my phone was set up it wouldn't let me check it until my car was in park anyway.

Once I got home I looked at my phone and saw I had an email. Probably a client scheduling a day to come by. I opened the emailed to see a picture.

(He's making me seem like a lair. When he's the liar. This is where we met).

Puckering my lips and just looking at the photo. The fact it looks like Elijah approached her. And the way he's staring at her. Counting to ten slowly before I went inside. He didn't cheat on me? Why would he even dare do that?.

So caught up in my own thoughts I didn't even realize I was inside the house. Elijah was standing there waving his hand infront of my face "hello?". Mean mugging him "what?!. And why are you in my face?".

"Well hello to you too. I see we have an attitude already" he joked. I walked past him as I remember that picture I just saw. "What's wrong with you?" He asked following me. I didn't answer I just kept getting myself something to eat. Opening the fridge I scanned through what I can put together. He slammed the fridge door shut "what happened? That you're ignoring me now".

Rolling my eyes "you're so annoying you know that". He nodded "I've been told that before. Now tell me what happened?.

"Listen I'm trying my best not to get aggravated. I know I can't beat anyone up. So I'm not going to even go into what I saw".  He raised his brow "and what would that be?". He won't stop so might as well show him right?. Pulled out my phone and showed him the email I got. He just stood there staring at the picture.

"Where did you get this from?" He asked.

"An anonymous person. Now I asked you twice if you cheated on me. You know giving you and open chance to come out and tell me. You said no! And I believed you. But now I get this picture and I feel like you lied to me".

He didn't say anything.

"So I'm going to take that as you did cheat on me. When did this happen?" I asked. I was very calm for an odd reason. Maybe cause I knew I couldn't really get upset. Didn't need my blood pressure going out of control.

Again nothing was said. I was slowly getting a little angry. Cause I'm trying to understand why and when this happened. And he's not helping by not answering me.

"Elijah?" I said.

He cleared his throat. We didn't do anything. All that happened I went to a club by myself. I had a couple of drinks and my eye wandered. I saw her there and she must've felt what I did. And all we did was dance and kiss that's it".

"When did this take place?" I asked.

"Right after your miscarriage" he said not looking at me.

"You hated me that much. After I lost the baby, that you went out and just said fuck it".

"It wasn't like that. Trying to be strong for you I just broke down and I needed to distract myself".

"Like you couldn't talk to Renzo or someone. No! You went to see if you could get ass" . I don't know why I haven't slapped the shit out of him yet?.

"All we did was kiss. That's it!. Nothing else she said happened" he said.

"I want to believe you but you lied to me twice. Who knows what truly happened. And if I find out you slept with this girl on more than one occasion it's over! I can't do this with you if you just go out and get ass from strangers. How would you feel if I did that?".

He didn't say anything.

"You would probably whoop my ass!. Knowing you put our family on the line. I understand you was grieving but there's other ways to do it". He stood there just listening to me. Who knows if he's taking any of this in.

"I told you already you're not leaving me. Children are involved now. It wouldn't be fair for them" he said.

"And it wouldn't be fair for them to be around someone who will cheat on their mother on a drop of a dime. If it comes out you slept with this hoe. Zahrie and I are going to my condo. I'm so happy I never sold that place. Knew it would come in handy".

"You. are. not. leaving. me" he said close to my face. He don't scare me. I think he forgot who's he's messing with.

I have no idea what I just wrote. Lol I'm in pain. 😩 monthly friend.
