CRASH! BOOM!

THE ATMOSPHERE SHOWERED A BLUE-COLORED SHADOW that was looming from outside while thundering noises followed. All of us got out of the backdoor to find a portal plasmatic wave just floating right above. "What is that?" Vanya asked while she was blinded by the light it gave. Slowly, I tried to approach the unusual sight.

"Don't get too close!" Allison warns everyone. I took a step back taking her advice trying to make out of what was inside. "Yeah, no shit," Diego affirms.

"Looks like some sort of multiphasic orbit. A—Ugh—What did Five call it?; A temporal anomaly" I gulped while the rumbling continued harshly, making us lose our poise. Wait a minute. Speaking of Five... Can it be...?

"Or maybe a miniature black hole," Luther mentions while going upfront on the position we were making. "Pretty big difference there, Paul Bunyan." Diego remarks transfixed by the sight before him.

"Out of the way!" Klaus appears to the spot, pushing us out of the path carrying a fire extinguisher. He sprays it on the portal as if it was going to do something. Finally, he gave up after 3 seconds of nothing and threw it. The vortex just gobbling it up.

"What is that gonna do?"

"I don't know. Do you have a better idea?" Klaus shrugs. "Yeah, like throwing an extinguisher was an idea!" I facepalmed.

Electricity crackles louder within as a person from the other side attempt to enter our realm.

"Everyone get behind me." Luther orders as pulled Klaus back.

"Yeah, get behind us," Diego adds.

Klaus was sweet enough to push me gently behind his back, trying to hide me.

I gave them all a confused look. They must've forgotten what I was capable of, wherein I find kinda funny. "Move, idiots!" I squeezed myself between the two men who were battling over control.

I held up both of my hands, creating a half-round shield. I place my right foot in front and the other behind, both toes facing forward to the direction I designated them to. I positioned myself in a back stance position, preparing for the possible impact we might receive from the mysterious aura. "Well, that's a better idea, I guess. But I still vote for running. C'mon!" Klaus suggested, but no one took his proposal into action. I would've agreed to run with Klaus because I didn't like explosions and terrifying shit like this but I need to protect my family.

The frizzled sound of the charges increases and I forced myself to close my eyes a bit out of horror while keeping the position dense.

And then it stopped. I withdraw my powers. There we all see a living person who fell from the thing, he was lying flat on the floor.

Slowly, we walked towards it while I kept my guard up. The man—Or should I say, a boy stood up with a puzzled look. His face looks gentle but at the same time, his engraved features sculpted on his face almost too exquisitely. "Does anyone else see little Number Five, or is that just me?" Klaus asked. It was a genuine question since he can see ghosts. He scrutinizes himself. His clothes were baggy for him, for his skinny body.

"Shit."

It was Five. The one and the only one I know.

We all gathered downstairs in the kitchen watching Five, baffled over the recent event of him popping out of nowhere, do what he was doing. I was standing as I rest my left hand on the table which was carrying my weight. I was next to a fazed Vanya, who was sitting down.

"What's the date? The exact date." Five asked placing down a chopping board, he approaches the storage area for aliments. "The 24th" Vanya answers. "Of what?"

"Of March," I answered reluctantly.

Five pauses from his action to give me a brief deadpan look from top to bottom. I raised a brow at his sudden strange behavior, but he doesn't seem to notice it. "Good." He comments looking somewhere else.

Does he even care enough to ask why I'm young, or why I look young? Or maybe just a simple greeting from each of us? He should've stayed to wherever he was before,

Five doesn't seem to give a flying fuck he was back and the fact that he was gone half of our lives didn't seem to bother him. Oh, I just want to slam his head on the wall and say I missed him right now.

"So, are we gonna talk about what just happened?"

Five ignored Luther, we couldn't tell if it was on purpose or intentional, we weren't sure if he was in the right mind to be even asking questions, like seriously, the first thing he wanted to do after being gone was to eat a sandwich.

Klaus and I gave each other the 'Is he okay' look before proceeding to watch him lay the pair of bread.

"It's been 17 years," Luther mentions finally standing up to uphold the emotions he was feeling. I didn't feel like communicating with him right now.

"It's been a lot longer than that."

He seems to be in a foul mood and he's acting really weird. He let out a derisive breath. He ignores him and did a spatial jump coming from in front of him to the counter, reaching for the marshmallows from the hanging cabinets.

"Where d'you go?"

"The future. It's shit, by the way." My ears perked up when I heard his answer. "Called it!" Klaus comments.

"The future...?" I look at him intensely, muttering the two words under my breath. "You mean the P.B.S actually worked? Our P.B.S?" I was stupefied to find out he accomplished such an impossible outcome. I didn't seem to notice the baffled looks they gave me since I was looking at Five, waiting for his answer.

"It did, but I should've listened to the old man." He moves for the fridge to grab a peanut butter. "You know, jumping through space is one thing, jumping through time is a toss of the dice." He declared.

"Nice dress." For a moment, I thought he meant me, but he was talking to Klaus. "Oh, well, danke!"

"If you're from the future, how did you get back?" I leaned closer, wanting answers since time traveling was a topic we were always sympathetic to.

"In the end, I had to project my consciousness forward into a suspended quantum state version of myself that exists across every possible instance of time." He was talking science and math language like he always used to when we discuss matters in relation to that when we were kids.

"That makes no sense."

"Well, it would if you were smarter." Five noted while I giggle at his crude reply while Diego was ready to bury him alive, but Luther stopped him from doing so.

"So, you're in a different timeline and you achieved enough energy to be able to hop to this particular present we are in right now but not enough to take every quantum of yourself that's why you became teen?" I scratched the back of my neck trying to get any attention from him, but he was too dedicated to making that sandwich. "Exactly." He approves nonchalantly.

Everyone gave us an astonishing expression knowing that the only one who can understand the other is us.

"How long were you there?"

"Twenty-three years. Give or take."

He inclined all of us to what he just said. "So what are you saying? That you're 36?"

"No, my consciousness is 36. Apparently, my body is now 16 again." He explains finally finishing the food and taking a bite of it.

"Wait, how does that even work?"

"Delores kept saying the equations were off. Eh. Bet she's laughing now."

"Delores?"

'Who the heck is Delores? Is he in a relationship? How could someone even get the likes of this guy?'

As he chewed on his favorite snack, he grabs a newspaper near the dinner table with Dad's photo in it. Must've been about his death. "Guess, I missed the funeral."

"How d'you know about that?"

"What part of the future do you not understand?—Heart failure, huh?" He remarked and looked at Luther like it was such an obvious question he can answer himself.

"Yeah."

"No."

Both Luther and Diego replies at the same time.

"Nice to see nothing's changed." Five clicks his tongue, stepping his way out.

"Uh, that's it? That's all you have to say?" Allison quarrels, her eyes following his direction.

"What else is there to say? The circle of life."

We were all left there speechless. It was crazy to have Five back again, but he's acting kinda off, I don't know if they can tell that he was or they just thought that he was being emotionless.

"Well... This day has been pretty crazy." Luther comments leaving us all dumbfounded trying to gather our thoughts.

"I'm gonna go talk to him." I left the room quickly, wanting to catch up on Five.

"Hey Five, wait up!" I ran towards him, giving him a slight wave from my hand. He turned his head, giving the usual 'I'm not interested in you' ambiance. "Oh, It's you. I knew you'd come." He monotonously said as he continued to walk in a stiff posture.

"Well, nothing has changed about you too," I commented. With him by my side, we shut both of our lips. It was awfully quiet it gave me a chance to examine his face.

He looks a bit contrasted with his time of disappearance wherein he was 13 years old. It delineated the soft parts he used to have, like his cheeks along with his jawline that can cut through glass. He was a few centimeters taller than me. Thankfully, he's the same age as me; Not like I had anything planned in mind.

He looks irritated. His hair was slicked with some strands leaving to remain on his forehead.

I can't believe it. This is Five. I'm walking with Five. I'm talking to Five. The boy where I always asked my question to myself, 'Where the fuck did he go?'.

We were both brought to his room. As we made our way inside, he moves forward staring at his closet giving me the silent treatment. "So..." I let out awkwardly. I didn't imagine that our reunion would be this difficult to tolerate. "I thought you were gone forever, Five," I said, finally being honest with myself. Both of us weren't the type to show any kind of cherishment towards each other especially him.

He spins himself to face me, approaches me promptly, and hurriedly puts both of his arms around, almost dragging me towards him into an embrace.

"I missed you..." He mumbles under his breath, which tickled my neck a bit.

"Ugh, finally... I missed you too." I snuggled my face on his shoulder. I literally felt my heart warm-up, this was the best hug I have received today. I could tell he needed this. We both needed this.

He tightens the pressure as if it was the first human contact he had after so many years. I caressed his back, it's like as if I felt his energy transported to me, and me already understanding his body language. We were hostile with one another, but for this moment I don't care.

Both of us gently pushed away. He takes a deep sigh before adjusting his necktie and heading to his clothes, going back to his cold-blooded persona. "If I'm not mistaken, you were on an incident that happened when you were 16, thus resulting in you in a coma that also made you unable to enter the stage of appearance to go into adulthood."

"Yeah, I just woke up earlier—How did you know, anyway?"

"I found some of dad's notes before the fire got to it." He opens his closet only to see the same old clothes we used to wear, recollecting the days he had in the academy. "Fire?" I asked, but he brushes it aside by observing everything that was hanged on the rack.

"Ah, shit." I snickered at his reaction since it was the same feedback I had when I looked at mine earlier. The sight of the uniforms disgusts him. With the hanger in his hand, he fixes his green orbs at me.

"What?"

"Are you gonna go out? It's not that I mind you to stay, anyway." He said, completely sarcastic, removing his tie and unbuttoning his top. "Ugh, as if I wanna see your grandpa peen under those pants," I said unamused as I head out, closing the door behind me. Same old aloof boy.
