THE DAY THAT WASN'T

(Y/N) Hargreeves

"𝗚𝗢𝗗, 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗟𝗔𝗗𝗬! Five she's touching you way too much!" I finally complained after going a few distances away from the weirdo's office.

"I have bigger things to think about." Five reprimanded.

"And I don't know what's weirder; Is it the Handler flirting with a 36-year-old guy or her flirting with a 36-year-old in a 16-year-old body?" I ranted, flaring my arms around.

"Bro, we should literally call the cops on her and you're so chill with it!—" I added, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"And you're so jealous." He interrupted with a sarcastic smirk crawling to his lips.

"I'm not jealous."

"You are." He dismissed.

"W-Wha—Why would I be jealous the lady is just straight-up creepy I'm just saying..." I darted my look, pretending I was examining something when it was just the wall. I couldn't show him my blushing cheeks.

Suddenly Five streaks his arms onto my chest before we could turn to the other direction as he peeks onto the edges waiting for a man with a cart to pass by our way. Finally, we proceeded with our tracks attempting to look inconspicuous.

Before entering the room we found an alarmed Dot who was warning Gloria about something. As soon as she left Five spatial jumped from behind the cranky lady hitting her with a stapler and immediately collapsed.

"Five, she's an old lady!" I scolded, my humanity only reclaims when it's about old people. Like if I see an old dude eating alone, it just makes me wanna cry.

"Just a stapler."

"One badass stapler." I teased, giving a short laugh as I recall the time of a bank heist when we were kids. Five rolls his eyes as he grabs the container from Gloria's hands as he sits on the chair and puts the paper in the typewriter.

"Hide that body for me, will ya'?" Five commanded while I followed and pulled the woman's unconscious body behind the table, taking a glimpse of what Five just witness with wide eyes.

'REASSIGNMENT: PROTECT HAROLD JENKINS.'

"Shit," I muttered as Five rolls the paper and keeps it in one of his pockets. "You know this guy?"

"No, but one thing's for sure. He'll be the reason to cause the apocalypse." He states shifting his eyes from time to time towards the door to ensure our safety.

Five puts on a new paper and changes the caption.

'And I'll just say, he's such a clever little boy.'

He wrote to them to exterminate one another.

Five hands me the other tube promptly going to our way on the tubes to send it to Hazel and Cha-Cha.

"You know that's not how we do things here." Our muscles tense up as our body hair rises to hear the Handler's voice. "Where's Gloria?"

"Don't know. Couldn't find her anywhere." Five jested shrugging his shoulder. The Handler's gaze shifted towards a groaning Gloria who was sore from the hit Five gave her.  "Obviously she's not under the table." I clucked preparing to use my power just in case she pulls one of her attacks on us. "You kids are a great disappointment to me." The Handler sighed.

'As if she didn't see it coming.'

"You can't change what's to come, Five. I truly find it so odd that you can't shed this fantasy. You're a first-rate pragmatist. You belong here with us!"

"I don't belong anywhere, thanks to you. You made me a killer!" Five hisses, sounding regretful of the past things he has done. It was hard to believe that little old Number Five could do such things. But oh well, it's the reality.

"You were always a killer... I just pointed you in a direction." The Handler suddenly unzips a part of her dress and pulls out a gun and shoots instantly. Before I even have the chance to activate my abilities, Five teleports us to a corner where she can't see us. "Let's use this to kill her." Five whispers handing me a grenade she showed off to us earlier in her office.

"Security breach in tube room. Security to tube room." A monotoned voice of a woman echoes to the P.A.

From the spaces between the rows, I pushed up a cart to let her use the bullets of her gun. She shoots instantly without even taking a small peek.

"What's the rush, Five? We're just getting started." She barked as I took the chance to take my entry towards the desk's area, still handling the explosive item and waiting for Five to go out. "Is this how you want the last line of your report to read?"

"When I'm done, I'm done, I guess."

"You can't keep this up, Five. We both know that even you have a limit. I saved you from a lifetime of being alone. You owe me." She pulls the trigger, but it only recoils indicating that she shot all of her bullets.

"I do owe a debt." Finally, Five appears to my side as I came out from the corner of the room wherein the Handler can take a sight of me. "But not to you."

"Oh, how much I've waited for this," I muttered, pulling out the ring and rolling it to her way.

Five brings me out of the room and hugs me into his chest hastily to protect me from the flame that immediately burst as soon as we got out.

Glass shatters and screams were surrounding the whole area as Five and I began working our feet towards the briefcase room. From bad luck, four securities reached us and started shooting their weapons carelessly and proceed to block our way.

Both Five and I curse under our breath as I went ahead of him to activate my force field. Some bullets relocated their projectile motions as they hit my shield, which causes two of their men to get hit by the reordered bullets that they shot themselves.

As soon as we were a few feet distance from the remaining two, Five and I separated to go and do a wall kick. To our surprise we did it simultaneously well; As a result, the flying head of the other from the opposites side causes them to hit one another's head.

As we were back on the ground, Five and I gave a brief look at each other to appreciate the work. "That was cool." I laughed before we advanced our way and continue with our last plan.

Finally, we reached our destination "Stay here." Five orders as he teleports inside the room. He chooses a briefcase of his liking before adjusting to what I assumed the date we are going to enter soon and pulls out what seems like a grenade before rushing towards me and hitting in the process rather harshly. But before I could hit the ground, the briefcase sent us back to where we came from.

Our home.

WEDNESDAY. 8:15 AM (again)

"Agh!" I exclaimed as I landed on the briefcase thenceforward Five was below as my chest pressed against it where I struggled to get off. Five's right, the briefcase really does send me sky-high. This feeling is terrible I'm feeling dizzy, much worse than Five's jumps. Adding up the events that just happened earlier, I'm tired too.

"J-Jesus!" Allison blurted out of shock.

"You guys, am I still high, or do you see them sandwich a briefcase too?" Klaus questions.

"Where have you two been?" Luther asked.

"G-Get off me." Five breaths out, sounding raspy from the small amount of air he was receiving because of the compression. I was careless enough to just roll out of the table that I didn't know we were at the top of. Luckily, Luther manages to catch me while Five removes the briefcase on top of him. He went down of the counter all wobbly as Allison helps me stand as my legs remained to quiver.

"Are you alright?" She asks worryingly, putting a strand of my hair behind my ear to get a clear view of my face like I was some sort of daughter to her.

"Who did this?" Luther asks pertaining to the bruises, scratches, and dirt we had all over our bodies and clothes. "Irrelevant." Five states sternly as he snatches Allison's coffee.

I was too exhausted to go back to his tail and instead I leaned on one of the counters with my flimsy arms resting on the back as we watched Five walked a few feet away with his unsteady steps.

"So, the apocalypse is in three days." Five finally went back to his senses after slurping his favorite drink and ignoring everything else. "The only chance we have to save our world is, well, us."

"The Umbrella Academy," Luther comments smoldering as if we were in some dumb hero movie. "No shit, Luther. You forgot to pay your brain bill again..." I seethed, looking rather annoyed with his face and everything else as they gave me a disbelief look for my unusual behavior.

"Yeah, but with me, obviously." Five derided looking at the gigantic man as if he was the inverse of Einstein. "So if ya'll don't get your sideshow acts together and get over yourselves, we're screwed."

"Who cares if Dad messed us up? Are we gonna let that define us? Let's stop being a bunch of pussies, we're literally the youngest in the group and you guys act like you still want that bibbidy-bobbidy childhood bulllshit!" I burst off irritated because I was fatigued and wasn't thinking straight.

"You guys are like the same person now..." Luther remarks, giving a brief look at both of us.

"And to give us a fighting chance to see next week, I've come back with a lead. I know who's responsible for the apocalypse." Five pulls out a paper from his pockets. Stretching my back a bit, I precariously walked towards Five as he hands out the item to Allison.

"This is who we have to stop." He added, sounding distressed.

"Harold Jenkins?"

"Who the hell is Harold Jenkins?"

Five takes another long gulp with the coffee before throwing it off on the back. "We don't know... Yet. But I do know that he's responsible for the Apocalypse. So, we have to find him. And we have to do it now."

Fun Fact: Allison was happy that (Y/N) and Five's relationship was working out and couldn't help but think about the times when they were all kids.
