"𝗪𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗨𝗣, 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘..." Five whispers once more as he connects his forehead with his dying best friend, (Y/N). But it was too late, too much blood gushed out her wound and there was no sign of her breathing or any kind of movement. "Please don't leave me. I need you to stay. I don't wanna be alone." It was the first time that Five became honest with what he feels. He was only a terrified 13-year-old boy embracing the person he always found comfort with.

He kisses her above her eyebrows as one more teardrop falls, landing on her cheek. He took a hold of her left hand to only see the ring attached to her fingers; she has been with it her for so many years.

(Y/N) was able to survive the apocalypse, but only to find out she was the only one alive and all her siblings dead. There was no point to continue surviving if she's going to be by herself forever. Her power performed well, but it wasn't enough to protect all 4 of her brothers and sister. It left her with a contrite heart.

She took her own life as an alternative to end the suffering and torment of what everything they had done has come to nothing. The Umbrella Academy failed their mission.

Her number symbolizes infinity because of the number '8'. Reginald never really revealed why she was Number Eight but one thing is for sure is that there is something he is hiding. Their father ought to give them secrets that they should unveil themselves.

Five didn't bother to investigate why she looked like she was still in her youth state because of the circumstances he is in. Though, he did find it strange after seeing the deceased bodies of the  Umbrella Academy all in adult form after seeing one of their tattoos.

He had second thoughts before obtaining the ring from her finger. It was the only memento he has for her. But yes, (Y/N) wanted him to wear it for the rest of his life.

And so he did. He takes out the silver and inspects it. It has 'Eight' written in fancy cursive letters. He gave the accessory a peck before gripping it tightly on a fist, shedding more tears; Mourning for his bestfriend's death.

Five founds a shovel and dug a hole to bury his best friend. It was the most painful thing he had to do but the last thing he could give her is to give her a proper burial so both of their souls will be in peace. For a 13-year-old child to experience this, this was something that would change his life forever and it is the only thing he could think of.

And I say, this feeling hurts more than a mere heartbreak.

He tried his best to search for any kind of flowers in the chaos, but sadly he only found burnt and withered ones. Some are shredded in half and a few having less than five petals. He found small amounts in vases that managed to protect the plant.

"I didn't know a time like this would come, but here we are..." Five states sitting down on a boulder while gazing on (Y/N)'s sleeping figure. She's drenched in blood, she'd be horrified to look if it weren't for her peaceful face.

"You were still here earlier. Trying to stop me from time-traveling... You know I wouldn't actually go if I knew that you were going to e-end up—" Five stutters trying to hide the grief, he hated the feeling of sorrow. "—dead..."

If it were appropriate to say, Five thought she was beautiful. She always has been. He never admits it but he always just finds himself staring into this girl's magnificent features.

Finally, he buries her along with the flowers that he had searched for. He created a cross using left out plywood from buildings and sticks it upright on the newly dug ground.

It was this memory. This moment always entered his nightmares every night he slept and the days he barely lives on. It haunted him for the rest of his life. The whole apocalypse was a nightmare.

He stared blankly at the final disposition he constructed before screaming in agony.

Forever. I will always be with you.

Fun Fact: (Y/N) thought she was already in heaven when she saw Five appear to her vision since they already assumed he was dead.

A/N: I'm sorry I had to make it so dark, it would also explain why Five's attachment and affection grew on its own because he was somewhat traumatized or still disturbed by the past. don't forget to vote and comment it would really help a lot :<
