(Y/N) Hargreeves

I WOKE UP WITH THE SUN RAYS BEAMING INTO MY EYE. It wasn't a good night's rest at all, but sleep is sleep. After changing into the usual umbrella academy uniform I went downstairs to eat some breakfast since I figured Five wasn't still awake following the events that happened yesterday, he's exhausted.

Down in the kitchen, I found Allison and Luther eyeing mom, studying her move when she was just cooking the entire time. "Uhm... Good morning?" I greeted sitting on one of the chairs. "What are you guys doing?"

"We think mom killed—" Luther was cut off when Allison looked daggers at him, slapping his chest with the back of her hand. "It's nothing (Y/N). Just some adult stuff."

"Allison, I'm literally the same age as you," I stated monotone as she just thought of what she said.

She and Luther exchange glances, probably thinking if they should tell me what was up with them. "We suspected that mom is responsible for dad's death." Luther lets out casually. "How so?"

Allison then explains the weird thing that happened in the tapes she saw and Luther came to the conclusion that mom was at fault for dad's death. "Why would mom do that?" I asked as both shrugged. I thought it was ridiculous that they would accuse our mom without further investigation. Poisoned would have been traced by the police.

"Mom, were you ever... I don't know, angry with dad?" She asked as she clasps her hands together with all our ears perked up. "Your father was a good man, a kind man, he was very good to me," Mom announces with the usual saying she was programmed to deliver. "Yes, but after we all left, it must have been difficult."

"Oh, there were days. You kids kept me oh so busy, and then..." Mom suddenly freezes.

"What?"

"Eggs are ready!"

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! So eat up the three of you." She says cheerfully, placing each plate down that comprises two eggs and one bacon put together to form a smiley face.

With that being done, the two grew more suspicious while I just enjoyed my food.

For me, she looks as if she's confused rather than suspicious.

It was wrong to think that our mother, who raised us, who put us to bed and took care of us would do such a cruel deed. "If you do anything to mom, I won't forgive you," I said blankly as I dipped my spoon on the yolk of the egg.

As soon as I was done eating and listening to Luther and Allison's testimonies of nonsense, I proceed to go to Five's room to see what he was up to. As I enter his place, I saw him preparing a first aid kit on his bed.

"Hey." He greets after taking a deep sigh. "Hey," I replied back, giving a short sheepish smile.

As he was going back and forth inside the room, he suddenly began to remove his top clothes. "What?" He asked while unbuttoning his shirt. "It's nothing." I looked away immediately as soon as he caught me drooling at the sight of him. "Like what you see?" He smirks, I peered at him to see him only on a white tank top. But something drew my attention. It was the huge wound he got on his right shoulder.

"Oh, my God. Five, why didn't you say anything yesterday?" I was filling with dread. Hurriedly I came towards him, sitting beside his bed.

I hold on to the needle that is linked with a thread as Five positioned his shoulder in front of my view. I put on some numbing cream before proceeding to sew his gash he got from last night's ambush. "Sorry about last night. I was just... tired."

"Don't worry about it Five, just please be more careful next time." It was these kinds of times when we get to be all touchy with one another since we're showing care and concern. Hell, the times where we'd probably share our darkest secret. "You got an injury on your cheek too." He stated.

Pulling the last thread, he grunts in pain as I successfully sealed it, putting a childish band-aid on top just to protect it from infection. As I was about to stand up, Five suddenly pulls my arm and told me to wait, so I sat back down. He grabs a cotton and hydrogen peroxide from the first aid kit. "This'll sting a bit." He warned before lightly dabbing the wet cotton on my cheek.

I squeaked quietly from the sudden bite feeling it gave. Five blows on the cut lightly to reduce the pain.

After sticking the non-woven medical adhesive on my face, out of the blue Five pauses his movement, I found him intensely beaming back at my (E/C) orbs as he gripped tightly on my wrist. He didn't say anything, not a single sound came out of his mouth.

He started to gently caress my aided cheek. He traces my jawline, barely touching it with his fingertips. His thumb suddenly slides up to my chin and then leads itself to my lips, swiping to its shape in a slow manner. I felt my heart increase its pace and my cheeks warm.

His face was so close I could see the two moles on the side of his face being separated.

"Five?" I called out. He snaps back to reality, downcast, sucking his lip in. He gave a very light double slap on my cheek as he clears his throat. "Go get ready, we'll be going to MeriTech."

'What the fuck just happened?'

"Shut up! I'm trying to find whatever... priceless crap was in that priceless box so that Pogo will get off my ASS!" Klaus yells in frustration while throwing the garbage bags everywhere searching for something.

"I'd ask what you're up to, Klaus, but then it occurred to me... I don't care." Five says going down the ladder. "

"Hey! You know there are easier ways out of the house, buddy?"

"This one involved the least amount of talking. Or so I thought." Five insisted that we should exit through the window instead of the front door to lessen the chit chat we might get. He puts Delores inside his travel backpack, he was really attached to that piece of plastic.

"Ooo, are you guys going on a date today?" Klaus asked sweetly, watching us as he rested his chin on the palm of his hands.

"No." We said in unison

"You need some third wheel today? I could, uh... clear my schedules."

"Looks like you're kinda busy, Klaus," I responded.

"Oh, this? No, no. I can do this whenever. I just misplaced something, that's all. Oh! I found it! Thank God!" He picks up a bagel from the bottom and forced himself to chew on it while Five and I grimaced at the sight.

"I'm done funding your drug habit."

"Oh, come on!—Maybe I just wanna hang out with brother and sister—(Y/N) you know we used to hang out all the time what happened now?"

"Yeah, come back to me when you're sober, Klaus. Good luck finding worth in the trash." I gave a salutation to the drunk man as Five and I walked away.

Klaus pushes his lips forward. "I love you guys. Even if you can't love yourself!" Klaus declares as we didn't take notice of whatever he said because we were busy carnapping a plumbing emergency service van.

While in the queue, Five and I had a conversation about the attackers the previous night; It was actually his co-workers, Hazel and Cha-Cha.

"Five, we've been here for 2 hours! Nothing strange has been happening. Earthquakes or rumbling and all that shit aren't happening." I complained while Five continues to monitor the entrance of the MeriTech building while scribbling physics formulas and trajectory sketches. There he watches a walking Lance, a normal day at his work with some coffee in his possession.

"This is the place where the eye is made... Or will be made. We just have to wait so quit your whining. I shouldn't have brought you along."

I raised a brow at his statement; I was not fazed by his offensive comebacks. He wasn't aware that my eyes didn't look away until he gave me a brief look before transferring his attention to our surroundings again. "What now?" He snarls, placing the palm of his hand on his steering wheel.

I gave a playful grin. "Well, what about the thing that happened earlier?"

"I-I don't know what you're talking about." He stammers, his lips parting while he crosses his arms in denial.

"AHA! you hesitated, Number Five," I smirked. Five Hargreeves is flustered, and it's such a rare sight to see him this way, I'm blessed.

He just groaned in response, clearly infuriated by my teasing. "See, you're so adorable when you get all shy!" I squeal skittishly while poking his cheek. "Awe, c'mon Five, you were literally going in for a kiss." I snapped my fingers, trying to get him to look at me.

"See? You admit it. Actions speak louder than words."

From the earlier moment that happened between us, I personally thought that Five was clearly manifesting signs of him just going insane. The last thing he would do was to kiss me and it goes both ways.

"C'mon admit it, lover boy." I jabbed on his cheekbones, trying to get him out with a reaction.

"ALRIGHT FINE! YES, I WAS GONNA KISS YOU!" He blurted out raucously as he swayed both his arms up. "Happy?" He sneers, shooting me a scowled face right after.

I didn't realize I was holding my breath until a few seconds passed. "Wait, are you for real...?"

"Of course not, you idiot. I'd rather make out with a cheese grater than with you." He says gesticulating and emphasizing every word.

"Oh shut up, making out with a mannequin is not something to brag about."

"I-I never did that!" He yells, his muscles getting tense as he avoided eye contact. "Kissing you would be the last thing I'd ever do in my life."

"Same here. But you were about to though." I pursed my lips as I went back to the back sit finding a spot for me to lie down.

"I wasn't."

"Yes, you wer—"

"Dadadada—I don't wanna hear it." He nagged as he took out Delores from his bag, lifting her figure up then talking to her as if she was an actual person.

After another passing hour, I went to the back to tailgate to take a nap. It was boring being watchdogs. Each person who passed by was a suspect to Five's eyes and he continued to stroll his iris all over the place.

"Five?—Five.—Hey Five!"

"Ugh, who's owns that annoying ass voice." I jolted half of my body, squinting my eyes from the rays that lasered my eye. Blinking a few times, I saw Klaus beside me doing the salsa dance with Delores. "Hey, baby..." He whispers to it.

"Hey, a little privacy, guys. We're really hitting it off back here!—AH!" Klaus guffawed when Five angrily throws his empty coffee cup at him. "Get out! You can't be here! We're in the middle of something!" Five yells, molten anger rolling through him. I yawned and tried to understand what the hell was happening.

"Soooo, what have you been up to, did you guys take my advice?" Klaus making a circle with his fingers and inserting his index in it with his other hand. I threw the previous cup that Five tossed, smacking his head.

"Hey ouch! Anyway, any luck finding your one-eyed man?" He asks launching forward the middle. Luther didn't know what it was about and asked what it was. "It doesn't matter this is Klaus." No one believes anything that comes out of his mouth, even when he was being honest.

After rubbing my eyes and regaining my clear field of vision, I plunged between the two, with Klaus below me. "Why are you here, Luther?"

"Um... So, Grace may have had something to do with Dad's death." He declares.

I narrowed my eye's in fury. "This shit about dad's death again?" I scoffed, sinking back into the junk at the back. Growing up, I realized that this guy is just getting more and more aggravating. He's literally trying to test me. And the fact that he is still subservient to our father despite being a fully grown man.

"I need you both to come back to the academy, all right? It's important."

"You have no concept of what's important."

"Hey! Did I ever tell you guys about the time I waxed my ass with chocolate pudding?" Klaus laughs hysterically, as all three of us didn't have time for jokes. "It was so painful."

"Klaus. That's just disgusting." I winced in revulsion. "Just get out of the van." Five insists as I opened the door for him, gesturing him to exit the van. "I—Why? Do I need an excuse to hang out with my family? Am I incapable of being serious? Is that what you're saying?" Klaus asked, actually sounding offended as he touches a part of his chest close to the heart.

"Sorry, Klaus." I activated a semi-big energy ball to push him out of the van lightly. "Agh, fine!" He mouths finally walking away as I shut the door.

"What the hell are you two up to?" Luther asked. "You wouldn't understand." Five informs. "Try me. Last I checked, I'm still the leader of this family." Spaceboy declares.

"Well, last time I checked, I'm older than you."

"You know what your problem is? You think you're better than us. You always have. Even when we were kids. But the truth is, you're just as messed up as the rest of us. We're all you have. And you know it." Luther suddenly looks at me too. "You both know it."

"I don't think I'm better than you, Number One. I know I am." Five replies with full confidence. I hate to admit it, but yeah, he was the most clever one of all. If he was present in the times that he was gone, dad would have finally had a favorite child.

"I've done unimaginable things, things you couldn't even comprehend. Just to get back here and save you all."

"HEY, BITCHES!" Our serious talk was suddenly disturbed with a man running away holding various items he stole from a local store. The three of us watched him almost get ran over, dumbfounded. "Out of the way, asshole!"

"I really don't think letting out Klaus into the 'wilderness' was a great idea,"

˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚✧ ☂️ ✧˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚

"You know, you don't have to tell me that. I know there are only six days left." Five suddenly speak in the midst of silence.

"You seriously transferred me here to the back just to talk to your (literally) plastic friend?" I butted in between seats to face Five with a raised brow.

"You talk and she doesn't. Big difference." He stated.

Luther left with Klaus after Five refused to go back to the house. I was going to join my other two brothers but reminded he me that we have important business to attend to. It was already dawn, there was no progress. Suddenly his gaze strengthens from someone outside.

It was Lance going home carrying a bag. "And there's our guy." We watched intently as he moves closer to the car parked in front of the building. "What the hell is he up to?"

The car left, and he walks as if nothing happened.

Five pulls my head in with his arms in an assertive manner, making me squirm a bit. He did a spatial jumped with me without warning. "Fuck you, Five."

"I'd like to see you try." He retorts as both of us crouched down to follow our suspect.

˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚✧ ☂️ ✧˚✧˳✧˚✧˳✧˚

"One chance. That's all you've got. ONE CHANCE to tell me exactly what's going on in that lab." Five ordered as he presses the knife into Lance who was clueless, I've already picked the lock before so I came inside with no problem. "I-I manufacture prosthetic devices for fake patients. I bill the insurance companies and then sell them for cash on the black market."

"Including eyeballs?" I leaned closer from the back seat holding his barking dog and placing it on my lap, trying to calm it down.

"Yeah, they're my biggest seller. I-I mean, they sell like hotcakes. I-I-I've got a list, a waiting list, probably 20 buyers."

"So, the serial number I told you..."

"Uh, could've already been bought. Yes, off-off the books."

"I needed that list, Lance. Names and numbers and I need it now!"

"I don't have it. I mean, not on me." The only copy's in my safe at the lab."

"Then what are you waiting for? Shut up and drive." I demanded while Five lowers the knife in his hands. Lance act accordingly, scared that his life is being threatened.

We arrived there after a few minutes only to discover that flames were dispersing through the interior of the building as the sky clouded with smoke. Five sprinted out of desperation to see the copies.

"FIVE!" I called out, trying to outrun his speed, but he was too fast.

He reaches the front only to find that it wasn't possible to even enter the danger zone. Hearing a glass shatter, I knew immediately what was going to happen next. I put a halt to my rushing feet in front of Five. He loses his balance and flumps to the ground. Slightly bent I created a round shield, bubble-like bioelectric charges surround us, protecting both of us from the explosive.

Stone and glass particles were blocked, and we were safe.

I deactivated my power.

"Are you crazy Five?! You could've gotten yourself killed!" I scolded, but he seems to be diverted into the erupted structure.

"Shit!" His temper sparked as he stood up to walk away. It was hopeless.

"Wait, so you're just gonna give up? That's it?!" I didn't wanna quarrel after all that explosion. With everything happening, Five grew despondent and continued to his way into the van, completely ignoring my sermon. "I didn't say anything about giving up." He remarked annoyed going inside and grabbing Delores before stomping away.

"Where are you going?" I followed him from behind. "I need some books and a drink for myself."

"You wanna get drunk and screw Delores after we just lost a chance of saving the world?"

"I'm going to try to time travel back. I'll make sure to not bring you along this time."

I sighed at his sudden change of moods. His fury always gets to him. I decided to just stay in the van alone, not knowing what to do next. Grabbing the vandalized book of Vanya, I wrote and studied the equations he noted.

"Oh boy, I wonder what's gonna happen
