"Hey!" One of them shouts and I gasp.

Shit shit shit.

"You all go. I've got this." I know straight away that it was Cole who said that and the other three stand still but nod. Cole starts moving forward and I run as fast as I can and turn the corner.

What was it I said? That I didn't want to get involved with the situation? Well looks like I'm a bit stuck now doesn't it.

When I think that I've got away, a hand grabs me and pushes me against a wall. Not aggressively, but there was no way that I could get away and run like I wanted to.

"What did you hear?" His voice is gruff and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't kinda digging it.

Seriously Andie?!

"I erm... you see... I..." I'm literally lost for words and I don't even know why it's not like I'm scared of him.

"Why are you out this early anyway?" Maybe I can actually answer this one without stuttering like an idiot.

"Could ask you the same thing." I probably would've crossed my arms if I wasn't still trapped under his hold. He gives me a flat look and I sigh.

"Fine, I went out for a run. I didn't even hear anything, I was just passing through."

"You're lying." He squints his eyes as if the answer is written on my face. I just shake my head. "You're a terrible liar."

"I can't believe I'm even saying this." He mumbles while shaking his head but hesitantly, he carries on.

"If I find out that you've told anyone I won't think twice about paying your cousin a visit. Maybe I can give him a black eye a second time around."

I know I shouldn't of but I burst out laughing. "Pay my cousin a visit really?"

I carry on laughing, even louder this time and finally, Cole lets go of me. He looks at me confused and once dialling down the laughing, I speak again.

"Who do you think you are, Brian freaking Mills? 'I will find you and I will kill you'." I say in a deep voice but then the look on Cole's face shuts me up straight away.

"Yeah... I'm just gonna go." I point to the direction I'm going, stepping sideways. He just looks at me as I walk away and I try to get home as fast as I can.

As soon as I get home I go for a shower as Mia is still asleep and hopefully this whole thing will slip my mind.

Update, It didn't. What is it they're even planning to do?

Once I'm out the shower, Mia finally wakes up and we both get ready for school. We pull up outside the school and as soon as I get out of Mia's car I see Cole walking up to me.

"I need to speak to you." I roll my eyes but nod, following behind him. With each step I take, more people look at us both and I follow him around the corner where there's no one around.

"I said I'm not going to say anything, so believe me, I won't," I say before he says anything. He just nods and starts to walk away, was that it?

"Cole!" I shout and he stops in his tracks but doesn't turn around. "I know it's none of my business but don't do it. Whatever it is you have planned, don't do it, you're going to get caught."

He finally turns around with an expression that is unreadable but then his face hardens.

"You're right, it's none of your business."

He turns back around and I stare at his figure as he disappears around the corner.

******

Schools finished and I'm now sitting in the library waiting for Cole to show and time continues to pass, yet he still hasn't shown up.

I spend another 15 minutes waiting for him until I decide I'm finished waiting around like a total idiot so I start packing up.

I really wanted to visit my mum today and I could be speaking to her right now but I'm still here wasting my time. How could he just stand me up like that? He's such a jerk!

I sling my bag over my shoulder and as I'm about to head out, guess who decides to finally show up...

Is he being serious right now? I'm pissed, so so pissed. He's strolling in, slowly might I add, with a huge smile on his face completely disregarding the fact I've been sat here waiting for him for the past half hour. Typical.

"Hey, were you about to leave?" He's got to be joking right now...

"Are you being serious! Of course, I was about to leave considering I've just spent the last 30 minutes waiting for your ass to show! We're meant to be doing our project." I sigh, continuing.

"I hope a quickie with a desperate cheerleader in the janitors closet was worth it because you can do this thing alone. I'm going because believe it or not Cole, there are other things I wanted to do today."

What I want to do is shout at him but as we're in the library, I've had to resort to whispering. I walk straight past him but before I can even make it to the door he grabs my wrist. Self-control Andie, you can't punch him in the face.

"Look, Andie, I'm sorry I just got held up." He shrugs it off as if it's nothing.

"No, don't say sorry because you're not. Now move out of my way." He frowns slightly and I don't feel even a little bit guilty.

"Actually I was convincing the rest of the guys to not go through with our plan." Oh...

Maybe I overreacted just a teeny bit. But, he still shouldn't have stood me up so I have every right to still be angry.

"Look can we just get food and reschedule the boring stuff? I'm too hungry to do school work." If I wasn't starving myself I would probably argue a little more but food does sound really good right now.

"Fine."

"Why don't I just get in my car and I'll meet you there?" I ask while we head out of the library.

Why did I even say that? I didn't even think. Mia took us to school so I didn't take Josh's car.

"No it's okay and I'm pretty sure you were in your friend's car this morning." I just nod, a little embarrassed.

As soon as I got into his car the smell of fresh leather hit me straight away. You can tell he definitely comes from a wealthy family. My mum and I both lived a middle-class life and I liked it that way. We never did struggle with money until my mum got ill but before that we were fine.

When Cole pulls up at the parking lot, we make our way into the diner he's taken us to. "Are you ready to try the best food you've ever tasted?" Cole's smile is infectious and he should smile more often.

We get seated at the booth furthest away from everyone else and it seems cosy. Too cosy. We look at the menus and as I lift my head slightly, I notice Cole staring at me. I shake it off and just act as if I didn't see it.

Somehow a fly managed to get near us and Cole started freaking out. It's the funniest thing I've ever watched in my life. I'm almost at the point of tears from laughing so hard, I don't know how the fly even got here because this place seems pretty clean but I'm glad it did.

That was hilarious.

I wipe a stray tear from the corner of my eye. "Aww is bad boy Cole freaking out over a fly?"

He looks at me, pouting like a two-year-old. "I didn't freak out over a fly, I thought it was a wasp."

"Sure you did." If he missed the sarcasm in my voice then this boy is more stupid than I thought but he notices, crossing his arms and slouching in his seat, and that's when I start laughing again.

"I'm s-sorry I-I'll stop." I managed to settle down and control my laughter, nearly missing Cole's lip twitching upwards like he was trying to stop a smile.

Then a male waiter walks over to us, "What can I get you?" He winks at me and Cole responds immediately.

"Cheeseburger, fries and a coke." He grumbles. What's his problem?

"What about you, beautiful?" He winks at me again and I cringe. Are they even allowed to act like this to customers?

"Burger and fries please. Oh, and an iced tea." I say with a forced smile, hopefully, this guy will go away now.

He nods, "Okay gorgeous." Cole snaps his head in his direction obviously angry.

"Hey dude, talk to my girlfriend like that again and I won't think twice about connecting my fist with your jaw. I suggest you get another waiter to give us our food because maybe then I won't punch your lights out." He growls and the waiter apologises, scurrying off.

I wasn't expecting that.

"What was the point in that? He was just being friendly." I know he wasn't but Cole doesn't need to know that.

"Too friendly. Why would you even let him speak to you like that?" I roll my eyes even though the worker did make me feel uncomfortable. However, Cole's reaction is worth it. He's totally jealous.

"What, jealous?" I ask and he shakes his head straight away.

"Me, jealous? Why would I be jealous?" He scoffs and I stand up.

"Wait, where are you going?" He asks me confused.

"I'm going to get the waiters number." I shrug nonchalantly and he grabs my wrist pulling my back to my seat. The force was the same amount as the other morning, not aggressive but enough to even pull me down.

"No, you're not. You're here with me." I laugh, I knew it.

Our food arrives with a female waitress this time and she's covered in patchy makeup. She places my plate down and then Cole's, dragging her finger across his arms afterwards.

Does this diner just employ those who are so desperate that they hit on their customers? It's as if tinder isn't working out for them.

She stares at him so I quickly grab his hands across the table. "Hey babe, how about we go to the movies after?" She rolls her eyes, walking away, and I grin smugly.

"What was the point in that?" Cole asks while I laugh.

"Karma."

******

We're on our way back from the diner and turns out Cole was right, the food was good. He made a lot, and I mean a lot, of sexual innuendos and I've come to the conclusion that his ego is the size of Europe.

"Today actually wasn't that bad, but if you think that means you're getting your seat back, you're completely wrong." He laughs louder, smirking afterwards.

"Wouldn't even dream of it." I wave goodbye as he drives off. I walk into the house and Josh bombards me with why I was with Cole.

I don't exactly lie to him, I just twist the truth a little. I tell him that I had a project with him so we went to the library to study and work on it.

I head upstairs after saying goodnight to Nadia and Mark and put my phone on my drawers. I spot the photo of my mum and I that's placed on there and I remember.

I was meant to visit her today and I forgot.

How can a daughter forget to visit her own mother?

Tomorrow is exactly one month until what would have been my mother's birthday and I'm not sure if when the time comes, I'll be able to handle it.

But altogether, I had really good fun with Cole today and he isn't as bad as I thought he was.

My phone buzzes and once I change I check it.

Asshole: I had a good time tonight. I'm sorry for acting such a dick earlier today.

A small grin creeps onto my face and as I try to get to sleep, I can only think of one thing.

His smile.
