A girl walked through the infernal road, carefully watching her steps as to not step on the cinders scattered over streets.

"Seriously, does she really have to make such a messy call?" She muttered, as she let out a dry cough thanks to inhaled smoke.

Taking a look around her, she could only feel a little bad for the citizens who fell victim to this... massacre. And by victims, she could tell there were a lot. During her little walk to the city centre, she had seen enough corpses that were either mangled to disfigured meat, or were charred to a cracking crisp. With literally every skyscraper in the city destroyed to mere rocks of concrete, and every vehicle now in a position they shouldn't be, she was certain there were no survivors.

Squinting her black eyes, she spotted a figure at a distance, sitting naked atop the piled up cars.

"There she is" she said to herself, as she continued walking closer while tieing her burnette hair to a bun. As she was finally close enough, spoke-

"Chara"

"Greetings, Maya" Chara responded, though she didn't look half as elegant as her words sounded. Despite the fact that she was stark naked, she was sitting cross legged while resting her cheek on her hand, like her lack of clothing didn't really bother her, since there was no one alive around to her see.

Even with Chara's large bosoms dangling in front of her eyes, Maya decided to stay vigilant. From what she could see, Chara's eyes were glowing like pools of hot metal, indicating that she was still in an excited state.

"Good thing I brought you some cloths" Maya sighed, as she handed the paper bag she was holding.

"Aww, that's sweet" Chara grinned, as she got off the pile. Though the clothes were considerably plain, consisting of red checkered T-shirt and blue shorts, she wore it without any complaint, except for-

"Why aren't the words Best Girl printed in my shirt?"

"Because you are, on the contrary, the worst" Maya made a scowl, as she said the annoyed words.

"That maybe true, but ouch" Chara replied as she finished dressing up.
"I'm still a young girl with a pure heart, you know".

"Really, pure? You?" Maya asked, trying to sound even more skeptic than she already was.

"That's right, my heart is pure. Pure. Unadulterated. Badass!"

"More like pure, unadulterated ego".

"Well, that too, yes" Chara chuckled, as she stood close to Maya, facing her.

"Anyway, how are you?" Chara asked with fondness in her tone.

"Why do you care?"

"I don't, that was courtesy" Chara chuckled again.

"Why did you call me here?" Maya questioned, looking around at the apocalypse brought forth by Chara.

Chara knew that Maya could recognize the nature of destruction produced by her, thus it acted as her exaggerated summon... though, Chara could have just given her a call.

"Well, I kiiinda need your help" Chara winked, as she grinned shamelessly.

"Right, I know that. Tell me what I should do".

"Speeding up, are we? Alright then, I want you to look into a guy called (Y/N) (L/N), he's an inmate in my 'prison'."

"Okay... do you, like, have a picture of him?" Maya asked, looking more attentive towards Chara.

"Nope!"

"Really, now?"

"Well, I tried to sneak into the office and take the picture from his file, but..."

"But?"

"There was nothing on him."

"Maybe you didn't check thoroughly?"

"Maybe. But that is unnecessary."

"And why is that?" Maya raised a brow in question, oddly getting interested.

"Well, you know the type of place my so called 'prison' is, right?" Chara asked, while making emphasis on the word.

"Um... yeah?" Maya answered, remembering what Chara had told her about her current 'home'.

"Well, I wanna know how the dude ended up there... even with a body count of literally 1, which was done in the most normal fashion, mind you."

"Okay... that doesn't really make sense." Maya furrowed her brows, going into deep thinking.

"If what you say is accurate, then the chances are, somebody wanted him there." Maya concluded, placing a finger over her chin.

"I thought so too. That's why, I want you to look into his history, see if anything seems off." Chara said, as she started climbing up the pile.

"Why do you care so much about him?" Maya asked.

"Well" Chara spoke, as she got on top of the scrap metal hill.

"I don't. I just think I'll get to have a lot of fun soon enough if I stick with him." Chara said with a shrug.

"Of course" Maya sighed, having used to Chara's cynical nature.

"Well, I hope you find something interesting. No pressure though, take your time. And take care!" Chara announced, as she squatted down. With an explosive burst, she leapt off toward the cloudy sky, disappearing into a dot, and then nothing.

"Right." Maya sighed to herself.

*****

"Ugh..." you grunt, as you creak your eyelids open.

You slightly hiss, as you feel a sharp pain in your head. Rubbing your forehead, you sit up straight. You literally feel your pulse around your thumb, as the pounding headache refuses to calm down.

"Tch, Dammit!" You curse, as your supporting hand starts feeling wobbly.

"Hah..." you breathe out, waiting for your senses to return back to normal. After all, the hazy state they were in didn't really help with the headache.

"Wow... never felt this weak before..." you mutter. Indeed, your fingers and toes felt very numb.

"Well, it's just a ssshort term anemia".

Following the voice, you look up, and just then notice that you aren't alone. A girl sits in front of you on a chair, which sat next to a desk that had a pale white light resting on it. With the light being the only source of illumination in the room, you could still make out her features.

She wore a wrinkly white pajamas, her white hairs tied in two large twin tails, and was wearing a facemask.

"Um... who?" You ask, wondering if it was Alice playing a prank on you. You look around the room, only to find nothing other than a large window with a wind chime attached to it, and the fact that it was night time outside.

"Weird way to thank sssomeone..." she complains.

"Thank... you for what?" You question, realizating this wasn't Alice, as her voice and way of speaking seemed too different. Too stern.

"Huh..." she sighed, as if she expected you to say that.

"Well, a gal tried to chug your b... blood, and I sssaved you... your welcome."

You are about to question her about her weird way of speaking, when a realization hits you on the back of the head. With accelerating panic, you feel around your neck, hoping to find a patched up wound. Instead, you find nothing. There isn't any sort of injury that you can spot.

"Wha... I'm not... hurt?" You wonder loudly.

"Was that just a dream?" You ask yourself.

Even though the image of her predatory eye that shined blue while staring down at you is still vivid in your head, you still consider the possiblity of it just being a nightmare.

"Yeah... about that." The girl says as she walks closer to you, and sits down face to face.

"I r... remember the ssstate I s... saw you were in when I entered your cell." She says, as her golden irises shift their focus onto yours.

"You were... terrible. Bleeding sso much... cut in ssso many places-" she pauses to rub her throat, and then continues.

"But, when we kicked her off you, and b-brought you here... your wounds were gone."

In a deeper voice, she then asks-

"What are you?"

"Ah..." you are taken back by the question, and find yourself unable to speak.

'What does she even mean by that?' You think, trying to comprehend her question. But a part of you also tries to come up with an explanation for what she said.

'Maybe Alice healed me...? No, I don't know if she can even do that... maybe she can?' Other than Alice, you can't really think of any other possiblity, at least not that you know of.

"Just... leave it for now" you sigh, and look back at her. Whatever it was, you were sure Alice had answers for it.

"Anyway, um... thanks. You know, for saving me and all..." you tell her.

"Hmm..." is all she responds, before standing up and walking away.

"He ssshould be fine" she says, as she walks toward the door.

At first, you wonder how come you missed the door, and then a silhouette of a person leaning on the doorframe catches your attention.

"Thanks" the woman responds, as the girl walks past her.

Before the girl disappears behind the walls, you catch a glimpse of her removing her mask. Even though you can't really see her face, you are still able to register a line of stitches dragged across her cheek.

And then she was gone, leaving you alone with the newcomer.

"Good grief" you hear the woman sigh, as she walks into light.

"You go missing for three days, and then I find you again... this time being made into a midnight drink by your girlfriend" Elena says, as she leans down and offers you a hand.

Feeling a bit relieved and happy to see her again, you accept her hand and get up to your feet.

"Ah-"

"Careful"

Thanks to the numbness still in effect, your legs felt unsteady and weak, causing you to almost trip. You were glad that Elena caught you in her strong arms before you got to kiss the floor.

"Thanks..." you say, as Elena holds your arm over her shoulder for support.

Elena didn't really respond to your thanks. As she brought you to her cell, the walk along the way was a bit awkward, as there weren't any words exchanged.

Her cell looked pretty plain, plainer than yours. The only thing that even remotely stood out, were the dumbbells underneath her bed. The lack of a window making it more foreign.

"Come on" she lightly pushed you into her room, as she led you inside. By now, the numbness in your body was almost gone.

"Try getting some sleep, I'll wake you up after sunrise, which is 2 hours from now." She informs you, as you lie down on her bed.

"Um... thanks" you say, facing the ceiling. In no time, your eyes start feeling heavier.

"By the way, you sure have a way of making people interested in you, huh" Elena says, as she lies down next to you.

'Damn... this kinda feels intimidating...' you think to yourself. Maybe it was her chiseled body.

"Well?" Elena asks, as she rolls to your side and rests her head on her hand.

"Are you talking about that weird spoken nurse?" You ask.

"She's not a nurse. She's an inmate, actually."

"What?" You ask, a bit surprised.

"Yup, her name is Ashley."

"Huh..." you mutter, as you think -

'Deja vu, I've just been in this place befo-'

"Besides" the song comes to an abrupt halt, as Elena continues saying- "the nurses here are infamous for their absence... Heh." She gave a very sheepish grin, like she was dead inside.

"Yeah... um" you fidget around a bit, not knowing how to react. After all, from the way that girl behaved, you were convinced that she was just a nurse in the prison, and Elena was the one that brought you to her.

And then you roll over to face her, and ask- "Then why did she help me?"

"Well, I will admit that she is indeed very kind natured, but she wasn't really planning on helping you." Elena admitted as she inched closer to you. You could feel her breaths hitting you neck, but you couldn't really focus on it, as she continued speaking.

"She just wanted to talk things out with you, and thus asked me to accompany her." She finished with a sudden British accent.

"Talk things out?"

"Yeah... maybe she wanted to apologize, I guess."

"Uh... for what?" You ask, feeling more and more lost. But also on the back of your head, you try to remember if she's an inmate you missed, as the name indeed sounded familiar.

"Well~" Elena cooed as she got uncomfortably close to you. And then with an uncharacteristic grin, she said-

"She did try to eat you up, right?"
