I showed up at Xaviers office right on time with two cups of coffee in hand. Iced for me and hot coffee for him. I tapped the door with my elbow and after a second the door opened. "Good morning." I greeted with a smile.

"Good morning, Luna. Is that for me?"

"Yes." I nodded and passed him the coffee as I stepped into his office. "Thank you." He said as He shut the door behind me and sat down at his desk. I sat in the chair in front of the desk and pulled out my iPad. "So they told me that you'd have to sign on the check in thing when I start working." I told him as I pulled up the canvas page that had the check in.

It was really the attendance page but for them it was a means of clocking in. He would have to enter a code so that I could log the start of my work day.

"Right. The code is 7632. I don't have a whole lot for you to do today, but I'll send over my schedule so you know what I typically do in a day."

I nodded as I entered the code. "What does your schedule look like for today?" He asked.

"I have a class at 10 another at noon and then my class with you."

"Okay, and it's the same every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday right?"

"Yeah."

"Alright, so you can come here in the morning and I'll go over any tasks for the day and then come back at 12:30 for anything else. I don't want to say you'll have to meet again with me after our class time because I can just email anything that comes up then. What does your Tuesday and Thursday look like?"

"Well I have two classes. I start at nine and I'm done at eleven."

"Okay in those days i'm at my other office going over things for my clients. Can you meet with me at around one on those days to help me out with that kind of stuff?"

"Yes of course." I nodded. "I'm glad we have this all figured out. Since you'll be working pretty close with me, i do want to mention confidentiality. It is Of upmost importance. I'll have like a mini contract drawn up with details."

"Like an NDA?" I questioned. "Of sorts yes."

I just nodded in response.

"Alright now that that's out of the way, Today I have to go to a faculty meeting but it's online, I'd like you to be here for that. I would also like you to make six copies of this contract for me, then schedule a meeting with one of my clients." He instructed.

I nodded and wrote down his instructions as well as any contact information I'd need. He passed me the copy of the contract and I put it right into my book bag. "Is that all?"

"Yeah I think so...How are you doing?"

"I'm alright. Kinda tired, but good. How are you?"

"Im doing okay." He shrugged. "You sound indifferent." I commented.

"What do you mean?" He asked with a quirked eyebrow. "I don't know it just sounds like you were asking as you were answering."

"Hmm I guess I was." He replied with a soft chuckle. "How are you...really?" I decided to ask.

He sighed and clasped his hands together. "I don't really know. I'm not feeling down just not ecstatic either, y'know? So just okay I guess."

"I know exactly what you mean. I feel the same way right now."

"And I'm betting a million others too." He huffed. "It always feels like you're the only one though."

"Oh yeah that's for sure."

He went to say something else but a knock sounded at the door. "Well I guess that's my queue..." I mumbled with a small smile.

"I'll see you later, Professor."

I put my bag on my back and pull the door open. "See you later Luna." He called from behind me. As I looked up I noticed that it was that same girl from a couple weeks ago.

She was sporting a low sleeked ponytail that accentuated her jawline. She had one some plain jeans and a cropped sweater so her naval piercing was displayed.

When I spotted it, it only reminded me of how badly I wanted one. "Oh hi!" She greeted.

She had a contagious smile so as she started smiling, I couldn't help but smile back. "Hi." I greeted.

I slid passed her casually and she offered a wave as I walked away. I returned it awkwardly and made my way to class. I wonder what's up with them. I remember him mentioning her boyfriend that day I came to his office but she was like...always with him.

Sometimes I'd spot them walking together on campus. Maybe she's a TA for one of his classes.

That thought remained in my mind for the rest of the day.

The first week of working with Xavier was...Kind of tense. Mostly because I feel so awkward around him.

On Tuesday we met to talk about his schedule and some of the assignments he wanted my help looking over. But he looked so good I couldn't pay attention properly. He caught me staring and it was kind of awkward between us for two days. "You're probably just imagining it. You have a horrible tendency to overthink." Nadia said as we walked out of the lecture hall together.

"No, its mad awkward."

"Whatever you say. Are we going out tonight?" She asked. "You already know my answer to that."

"Oh come on. Could you please have some fun for once."

"I don't know how many times I have to explain this to you. I have fun. Just not in the same way you do. I don't like partying or going to clubs. It's just not fun to me." I explained.

"Well that's boring."

I sighed heavily and picked up my pace a little more. I didn't want to hear it. I was sick of hearing her complain about how boring I am because I don't want to party. It was becoming rather annoying.

"I have an exam in the morning and i have to meet with Professor Nixon. Afterwards I'm going to stay on campus studying. So I'll see you later." I told her curtly.

"Okay, what do you want for dinner?"

I shrugged softly. "Not sure. i'll eat whatever we have."

"See you at home." She waved. I returned the gesture and made my way to Mitten Hall, where Xaviers office is.

It took me no time to get there and I thankfully beat the crowd of students leaving their lectures. Getting caught in that is as bad as sitting in traffic. I found my way to his office and knocked twice while sending him a message to let him know I was here.

The door swung open no more than thirty seconds later and I was met with Xavier's charming smile as he looked down at me. "Hi." I greeted softly.

"Hey, come in."

"How were your classes?" He asked as I shut the shit the door behind me. "Long and tiring." I huffed.

He chuckled in response and rested a hand on my shoulder before giving it a comforting squeeze. "The semesters almost over. Hopefully these last four weeks go by quickly."

"Yeah I hope so. How are you? How were your meetings today?" I queried.

"Long and Tiring."

"Do you still have that last meeting tonight at 6?"

"Yes, my client has a lot to talk about so I'll probably be on the call for a while."

"Did you want me to be here for it?" I asked. "You don't have to. I'm sure you'd rather be home or somewhere else getting work done."

"Oh it's no problem. I am actually going to be out a lot longer to study." I shrugged. "You staying here to do that?" He questioned.

I pushed my glasses up on the bridge of my nose and shrugged. "I don't want to intrude."

"You wouldn't be. Stay as long as you'd like."

"Are you sure?" I asked anxiously. "Of course."

"Thank you."

"No problem...just look over the meeting agenda so you know what we'll be discussing." I nodded as he spoke and pulled out my iPad.
