After an hour passed I'd fully checked out of studying. I honestly could only study for about 45 minutes to an hour straight and I always needed breaks before starting the next 45 minutes. I placed my laptop on the couch beside me and stood.

I had a horrible crick in my neck from sitting slouched over staring at the screen for an hour straight. I rubbed my neck softly and rolled my shoulders.

While I'm taking a break I'll just organize some of Xaviers paperwork.

I walked around the large desk and stared down at all the stacks of paper. A lot of it looked like miscellaneous items with details printed on them that I didn't feel right reading. Once I got the Gist of what was in each pile I organized the stuff in order of level of importance, purpose, and then alphabetized it. I got everything into folders and sat them on top of each other neatly.

Afterwards I cleaned up all the stray blank papers from his desk and straightened out the very few Knick knacks that he had. By the time I had finished and was pushing his desk chair back in he was stepping into his office.

"Hey." He greeted softly. "Hi. I finished up."

"This looks great." He smiled. He stepped around the desk standing very close to me so he could take a look at the way i organized his files. "Alphabetical order too? You're efficient."

"Thanks." I smiled as I took a step over to get around him. "Were you able to get some work done?"

"Oh yeah, a lot actually."

"Are you leaving?" He asked when he looked over at me. I had begun putting away the few things I'd had out. "Oh yeah, aren't you?"

"No i wish." He sighed. "Whats on your agenda now?" I asked curiously. "It's getting late."

"My other job." He replied. I raised an eyebrow, silently asking him to elaborate. "I am a personal cooperate attorney as well as a professor."

"Right, right. I forgot that you mentioned you were a lawyer. I guess I just thought you didn't really practice."

"Not really a particularly traditional sense anymore. I work for a family with all of their legal needs. I hardly ever have to go to court, I'm usually just reviewing contracts for them."

"Were you always a cooperate attorney?" I questioned. "No, i started off as a criminal defense attorney. The last case I worked as a defense attorney was defending someone from the family i work for now. They heard I was looking for a different path and the rest is history." He shrugged Cooly.

"That is really cool. What made you go into law?"

"My father actually. He's a lawyer and when I was little I used to think it was so cool. Bring your kid to work day was like a temporary heaven when I was younger." He chuckled. I smiled and mumbled, "that's adorable".

"Those were your parents i saw you with right...at Agava I mean."

"Yep my parents and my sister."

"You have a nice family. If I didn't know any better I'd assume your whole family was just a bunch of models, I swear." I slightly rambled absentmindedly. A tinge of a blush tinted his cheeks before a smirk brewed. "So what I'm hearing is...you think that I'm handsome."

I giggled softly and shook my head. "I mean it's open for interpretation." I shrugged.

"Right, right." He smirked. Was he flirting? Were we flirting right now??

I let out a real laugh and pulled my bag up onto my shoulder. "I should get going. I don't want to keep distracting you from your work."

"Trust me, you're a nice distraction. Can I walk you out?"

"Oh you don't hav..." I trailed off when I watched him start to walk towards the door. "Alright then." I whispered.

He opened the door for me and allowed me to lead the way out. "What are your plans for the night?" He asked as he walked beside me. His hands were tucked into his pockets and he glanced over at me just as I did him.

"It'll be a long night of binging Greys Anatomy for me." I shared. "You know...I've never seen that show."

"What?!"

He chuckled at my reaction and nodded whilst pushing lobby button for the elevator. "I'm more of a law and order kind of guy."

"Which one though?" I asked cryptically. "SVU, of course."

"I think I've seen every season of SVU like twice now. I keep seasons 9-13 on repeat though."

"Me too, season 12 is my favorite." He shared. "Mine too. My roommate hates it because I play it so much." I laughed.

"My father can't stand how much inaccuracy there is so he can't stand it either. But I watch it anyway because it's a pure form of entertainment."

I nodded in agreement as we stepped onto the elevator. "You should really watch Greys Anatomy though. Season 6 is the best, but there's 15 all together. Season 16 is supposed to be out soon."

"Damn. 15 seasons?"

"It's not too bad." I cushioned. "You Can watch it while you grade papers. It's something that everyone should do at least once."

"Really?" He laughed. "Yes." I insisted with a dopey smile.

"Usually people say sky diving or snorkeling are things everyone should do once. Never heard anyone say that about Grey's Anatomy."

I laughed at my own silliness and sighed. "Well it's true. It's right up there with sky diving."

"Oh wow. I'm going to assume it takes precedence over learning a new language or something like that."

"Maybe." I hummed. "But I already speak two, three really, and I'm learning another, so thats not on my list anymore."

He offered me an impressed expression as I walked past him while he held the door open for me. "Really? What languages?"

"Cape Verdean Creole, Portuguese, English of course, and a little Spanish. I would like to learn French though."

"That's cool. Where'd you learn them?"

"My dad is from Cape Verde, I visit there a lot, and Cape Verdean Creole and occasionally Portuguese is spoken there but it's not as common. My grandparents studied in Portugal so I think that's why my and my dads Portuguese is pretty fluent. I'm currently learning Spanish. Do you speak any other languages?"

"Just Spanish." He answered. "Oh nice, did you learn it through school?" I asked fully expecting him to say yes.

"No, from home actually. My dad is Spaniard and my mom is Mexican."

"Ohh that's cool." I replied genuinely. "Yeah, my accent isn't great though according to my dad. I think he just says that because I don't sound like I have a lisp and I don't use Spain grammar rules. I grew up in the Bronx not Spain so I don't know what he expected." He chuckled.

"Oh wow." I laughed. "The kids would make fun of how I spoke Spanish and after a while of being around them I kind of just adapted a little of their accent."

"All other Spanish speakers are forever going to bully Spaniards for their accents. I remember I had to take Spanish my first year here and I swear I was going through serious trauma trying to learn the Vosotros form. The professor would aggressively press that 'th' sound every time she spoke too. It was horrid. They would make fun of her in our class group chat." I shared.

"That poor lady." He laughed.

"It was mean now that I think about it but it was also kind of hilarious."

He walked me all the way over to my car and once we got there he and I stopped and stood by the passenger side door on the side walk for a second. "Well this is me. Thank you for walking me."

"Oh yeah no problem. Payment for organizing my stuff." He smirked.

"But that was payment from me for letting me study in your office."

"Hmm it seems like you owe me one then." He said mischievously. "That it does." I replied slowly.

"How about a coffee?" He offered.

"Coffee? Okay. I'll bring you one tomorrow morning."

"I mean, how about you get coffee with me."

"I—you..with you?" I stuttered. "Mhm."

"And that wouldn't be...inappropriate?" I questioned. Truth be told, I didn't care if it was or not. "No, just a professor grabbing coffee with a student. We do have to meet one on one to discuss your paper anyway." He shrugged.

"Okay, sounds good to me then. Where and what time?"

"Meet me at my office at 10 on Friday."
