I made sure everyone knew that Spooky was mine and not up for adoption.

I find myself thinking of Reyah more than I probably should. For fuck sake she even has me getting a cat when I don't have any at home.

Looking over finances I looked up and there stood my mom.

"Hey, mom what brings you by?"

"Your brother told me about this cute girl that's been helping out here and I came to get a look."

"Mom really? Jerrick and his big mouth."

"So I hear she's Russ's daughter."

"She is and she came to volunteer and bring me a check from her dad as his last donation."

"Oh really? That was sweet Madden."

"It was and her mom donated as well and she brought me a hundred thousand dollars."

"Wow really? That's a big amount sweetheart."

"I know and I appreciate all of it. Reyah is going to help me have a two-weekend thing where I lower adoption fees and have her mom cater."

"That sounds great! So when do I get to meet her?"

I looked down at my watch. "She should be here any time. She helps her mom with her catering business."

"I think I remember Russ talking about it before but I can't remember the name."

"Umm, I'm not sure she's not told me yet," I said.

I looked down at my ledger and when I looked back up Reyah was standing in the door and I couldn't help but smile.

She was beautiful standing there with her toboggan covering her wavy hair but blue eyes were so bright under that white Pom Pom.

"Sorry to interrupt." She smiled.

"No, bother. Reyah this is my mom Cheryl.  Mom this is Reyah Granger."

Mom jumps up and shakes Reyah's hand. "It's so nice to meet you Reyah. Your father always talked about you and I'm really sorry to hear about him."

"Thank you, Mrs. Berlin. My dad loved coming here and helping out."

"Oh please call me Cheryl but I'm glad that you are here."

"I'm happy to be here." She smiled.

"Dear, what is the name of your mom's catering company? I asked Madden but he didn't know.

"Oh, it's Lib's catering. Her name is Libby."

"Madden said she will be catering so I want to make sure to come and try some of her deliciousness." Mom said.

"I want to try some of those sweet potato casserole muffins." I laughed.

"I will ask her to make some." She smiled.

"Well, I'm going to leave you two alone, and I'm going to go check on the new puppies." Mom said.

"Thanks, mom!"

"Nice meeting you Cheryl."

"Nice meeting you too Reyah!"

"Sorry about my mom Jerrick told her about you and she came here just to meet you."

"Really? That's kinda sweet Madden. So I tried to come early because I want to get a look at that webpage and your Facebook page so I can work on it and get things up and going."

"Well here take my seat by all means and show me what you have in mind," I said getting up.

She stood up and walked around the desk and I couldn't help but watch her ass. She is something else.

She took my seat and I pulled another chair over to see what she was doing.

"If you have animals or something to take care of I will be fine Madden."

"No not really I wanted to see you work your magic." I smiled over at her.

She laid her phone down and I watched as she worked on the webpage. "Umm can you get me some pictures of the dogs? That way I can add them to the page."

"I can do that! I have some on my phone already and some of the cats."

"Ok text them all to me please." She said.

"I will be back I'm going to get more photos."

I went and took a bunch of pictures and sent them to her phone as I went and then when I came back I grabbed two bottles of water and sit one in front of her.

"How did the pictures look?"

"Great Madden and I can make them work look at what I've done so far." She said moving over so I could get a good look.

When my knee brushed against hers it was so warm and I just wanted more. I wanted to touch her face and I really wanted to kiss her lips.

"Madden did you hear me?"

"Sorry, what did you say?"

"I said that my mom made some of those muffins if you want to go over to my house later?"

"Oh I would love to Reyah but I really do appreciate all that you doing for these animals.

"I need to see Spooky before I go but I will have flyers printed out as well that we can hang around town about our weekend event." She said.

"I think Spooky needs a cuddle and I could use one as well."

"I'm sure your mom could give you a hug Madden."

"Ouch, a shot to the heart Reyah," I said grabbing my chest.

"You're easy to joke with you know that?" She smiles over at me.

"Yeah, I've heard that a few times. Let's go see Spooky he wants his momma."

"Oh, I'm his momma now?" She laughs.

I follow her out of the room just so I could stare at her ass. Damn, she looks good in those jeans.

I watched her walk over and sit on the floor and get all four kittens out to cuddle them but she was kissing Spooky's head.

"See he missed you."

"I missed him too actually. I have always wanted a cat but just cant where I live but I'm glad that you can at your house. You do have a house right Madden?"

"Of course I do! A big house my uncle left me in his will and it's too much for just me so Spooky will make a nice addition."

My own Spooky but his name is Jelly Bean. 💚 🐈‍⬛
