We got a few animals to come in and so I have been working more and Reyah was helping with the shelter and catering.

When we come home at night we fall into bed and go to sleep but tonight I am cooking a meal to surprise her.

Jerrick texted me to say she was on her way and I just got the steak on the table with a side salad and a baked potato with wine and candles.

When she walked in the door she stopped dead in her tracks. "What is all of this?"

"A romantic dinner," I said walking over to her kissing her lips.

"Let me go change I'm excited!" She said.

I poured the wine and lit the candles when she came back down.

"This is great Madden and I'm so surprised."

"I'm glad that you are. We haven't been getting a lot of time together lately and I wanted to do something nice."

"Oh, Madden!" She stood up and walked around the table and kissed me. "Now let's eat."

"How was your day?"

"It was great! Jerrick did all the lifting and tugging and this time it was a wedding party and all those older women were pinching his cheeks."

"Haha, that's great!" I laughed.

"Oh, he was eating it up, and then he talked to a couple of them about dog parties, and mom scheduled a few of them."

"So do you think that he is better for the company?"

"Oh he's helped so much and mom seems much happier and now she's not alone and really she has someone to take care of and cook for."

"Mom was worried he was annoying her but I'm glad to hear that he's helping her."

She reaches across the table squeezing my hand.

After we finished eating she helped me clean up and then we went to the living room to sit in front of the fire.

We sit down on the blanket and she sit in front of me and leaned back on me. "I love sitting in front of the fire with you."

"I love being anywhere with you Reyah."

She leans her head back and I kiss her lips a couple of times and before you know it she's straddling my lap and the kiss turns hot.

I checked the alarm and grabbed our clothes and went upstairs to find Reyah on the side of the bed petting Spooky.

"I think he likes being up here with us."

"Can't blame him Madden."

"They are having a sale on feed tomorrow so I'm going to go back and get more dog food and different things."

"Do you still have a bunch of money left from dad?"

"Oh yeah, most of it but I'm going to use some to stock up."

"Well, I don't want you to worry he left me so much money I'll never spend it all and I want to help with the animals when needed."

She grabs her phone and opens something and hands it over to me.

"What's this Reyah?"

"My bank account. I just want you to look."

I look at all the zeros and look over at her. "What the fuck?"

"Yeah, three million is what he left me."

"Well, I'm not with you for your money because I didn't even know."

"I know you didn't. But I think that's why Micah acted as he did."

"Well now I get it but I don't want your money."

"I know you don't but what if I go with you and buy exactly what you buy? Then we will have enough for a good while?"

"If that's what you want to do but I don't want you to feel you have to Reyah."

"Oh I know I don't have to but I want to Madden."

"Well, then you can go with me in the morning."

"Sounds good." She smiled laying down with Spooky on her pillow above her head.

I cut the light off and kissed her lips and put my hand around her side and we went to sleep.

When I woke up the next morning Spooky was on my chest purring.

I pet him when Reyah woke up stretching. "Morning."

"Morning beautiful. Looks like I stole your cat."

"Spooky!" She said and he meowed and jumped off me and cuddled her neck.

"Well, I guess he likes you more." I laugh.

A little bit later I went cut on the coffee pot and we drank a cup before getting ready to head to the feed store.

Reyah walked into the kitchen smiling putting her jacket and toboggan on. "It's so cold."

"I could warm you up," I smirk.

"Oh, I bet you could Madden." She laughed.
