I can't believe that Russ left me his truck and more money for the shelter.

I really don't want to accept the truck and money when Libby could maybe use it.

Reyah walked over and sit beside me. "What's going on in that head of yours?"

"I just feel like I shouldn't accept any of this. What if your mom can use it?"

"Believe me mom has enough money to last her the rest of her life and she doesn't use the truck she has her own car. He bought us both new cars last year and this is probably why."

"Your dad was such a good man Reyah. I wish I had met you before now and he could have seen us together."

"I bet he does see us and is happy for us Madden."

I pulled her into my arms and kiss her lips as Libby walks in with hot chocolate.

"Don't stop on my account kids. I love to see two people in love."

"And we admitted it to each other tonight mom." Reyah smiled.

"Oh goodness! Thats, wonderful news and Madden I know you will take care of my girl and I don't want you to feel bad about that truck. It needs drove and I want you to have it." Libby smiled.

"Thanks, Libby. I will only take it if you are sure that you don't need it."

"I promise you I don't need it. It makes more sense now that I think of it why Russ got us both new vehicles last Christmas and then he got the truck maybe six months ago and paid it off quickly." She said.

"He was sneaky wasn't he?" I laughed.

"Oh he was but he had such a good heart. He would help anyone out." She smiled.

I linked my fingers with Reyah's. "Do you guys want to put the lights on the tree how Russ said?"

"Please! Thank would be so nice of you Madden. I don't think I have the heart to do it." Libby smiled.

Reyah helped me to get the lights on the tree and Libby did help us with the ornaments.

It didn't take too long until we had the tree lit up and it looked beautiful. I wrapped my arm around Reyah and kissed the side of her head.

"Now you need a tree Madden." She smiled up at me.

"Yeah, there may be one in the attic." I shrug.

"No, we are going to take your new truck and get a real tree and all new decorations." She smiled.

"Sounds like a plan. We can do that tomorrow after work." I said.

"Mom do we have anything coming up?"

"No, I don't have anything until this weekend, and it's small. Another dog birthday party." She laughed.

We stayed a while and admired the tree and then decided to go check on Spooky.

"Reyah you myswell just give up your apartment. If your not with Madden you are here and you are just wasting your money."

"Yeah you are right I could just move my stuff in here. I would be closer. I hate that thirty-minute drive." She said.

"It's settled then." Libby smiled.

Reyah hugged her and we slipped on our coats and headed for her Range Rover.

"Are you not going to drive the truck Madden?"

"I'll get it tomorrow before we go get a tree if that's ok."

"It's fine with me." She said pulling out of the driveway.

When we made it back to the house Spooky was meowing and wanting to be picked up.

Reyah picked him up and snuggled his little face and I couldn't help but smile.

"Do you want to go cuddle by the fire?"

"That sounds good Madden. I'm going to feed Spooky and I'll join you."

I walked to the living room and started the fireplace and sit down on the rug and watch the flames when Reyah walks in with Spooky in her arms.

"I'm guessing his tummy is full now?"

"Oh yeah, he ate half a can. Here can you hold him while I go pee?"

"Yeah give me the spooky boy." I smile holding him in my arms.

He loves chin rubs and then he meows and licks my chin.

When Reyah comes back and sits down Spooky wants her. "Look you have already spoiled him so much."

"I can't help it he's so cute."

"I know I am." I grinned.

"Well, you are too." She smiled.

I pulled her in and kissed her lips. "I hope I can live up to the romantic that your dad was."

"My dad was always surprising mom with things and always bringing her flowers." She smiled.

"So are you going to move out of your apartment and put all your stuff at your mom's?"

"I am seriously thinking about it. I mean if  I'm not here I am with her and there is no need in wasting my money when I don't stay there."

"You can always move it here if you want but I understand why you might want to stay with your mom."

"Thanks, I appreciate it but I think I'll take it back home, and that doesn't mean I can't continue to stay with you Madden."

"It better not. I will even take you to go get your stuff if you wish."

"Oh yeah since you have a new truck." She smiles over at me

"I really can't believe your dad left that to me and more money for the shelter. I am just speechless."

"He wanted you to have it Madden and I promise you that mom and I don't feel any way about it."

"I really hope not. I've never had a new truck and it's just weird that I didn't work for it."

"It's what my dad wanted and it's good." She smiled as Spooky curled up in front of the fire.

I pulled her close to me and kissed her lips. "I love you Reyah."

"God that sounds good coming out of your mouth. I love you too Madden."
