"She still hasn't come out of the shell?"

Yuji looks back to see Nanami, walk up to your bedside. Well, it wasn't really a bed, your shell had to be placed on a heavy metal base just to hold you up.

You're still stuck in the same position as you were when you three were facing Mahito. As if you were frozen in time. Your blood is still there on your lips, ears, nose, eyes, and fingernails. Your marks are still there. Yuji looks down, clenching his fists.

"What's going to happen to her?" Yuji asked, afraid.

"Since she's still claimed as deceased I can't report this to anyone but Gojo. However there is a high chance she will have an execution ahead of her." Yuji frowns, grinding his teeth together.

"She should come out soon so we can treat her," Nanami spoke. "Never saw a sorcerer seal themselves in a barrier like this before. Impressive, but it could've killed her."

"We only lived...because we went into Sukuna's domain," he whispers angrily. "Y/N is always there for me, always looking out for me. The least I could've done was save her little brother."

"You did what you could Yuji."

"She's going to hate me..."

"You? Of all people?" Nanami's voice held disbelief that Yuji came to that conclusion. "She's not going to hate you, she cares about you too much to." Yuji still has a sullen expression as he remembers the many body bags that came from this mission. B/N's, Rosa's, the cursed humans, so many lives are gone because of that patchwork asshole.

"How did Rosa die?" Yuji asked in a hushed tone.

"Reports say she was found ripped to shreds by what appears to be large claws," Nanami answers. "Sukuna's finger was found on her nightstand, if I had to say Mahito did that to frame Y/N because her go-to weapon is claws."

"If I can't save one person," Yuji whispers. "Why should I bother doing this? I always believed that everyone gets a proper death, and I would try to avoid killing someone as long as I can. What is a proper death?"

"I don't know what that is either. Even if good people dying in peace and evil people being punished with death is the proper way,  most of the people in this world are neither good nor evil.  Death is the final destination for all of us, but no one dies the same death. Trying to guide all of them to their proper end would surely be arduous. I personally wouldn't recommend it."

Nanami glances at Yuji from the corner of his eye as the poor kid stares at you.

"And you're wrong about not saving one person. You did save someone Yuji. You saved Y/N from being stolen from Mahito, who knows what he could've done to her if he got away with her? You're going to meet many people who are going to need you in the future. Because you're a jujutsu sorcerer now, Itadori-kun."

Nanami left him alone and Yuji places his palm against your shell. Your shell is almost like a thick glass, the grayish sickly color is transparent so your body is still there to see. He rests his head against the shell, feeling his eyes sting.

"I'm sorry Y/N," he mutters, tearing up. "I couldn't save them, couldn't save him..."

-

"Are you going to ignore me forever?"

Sukuna spoke, annoyance in his tone. You just sit down on the blood water and turn away from him. You did not utter a word to him which made him upset. Granted he handled all of that poorly, but he did not like being ignored.

"Tch, I did your brother a favor. If I saved him he would have suffered."

Still nothing from you.

Sukuna tried to get a reaction out of you, but instead, you shifted and turned away from him. Your face is covered by your hair and you didn't say anything to upset him. He feels well... he didn't know how he feels. He glances at your soul again. That rests in his palm, to see it's still black.

He wanted to see your soul full of life again.

This would be a rinse and repeat. He tries to talk to you and you wouldn't answer him. He even appeared beside you, but you would walk away from him and continue to ignore him. He's used to people lashing out their anger towards him, spouting hateful words in his direction but it bugs him when you're not doing that.

'Try a different approach,' he thought.

You would stare at your new look in the waters reflection and your face would crunch in hate. He wanted to comfort you that you still looked amazing until he read your mind.

'Why couldn't this happen before I lost you B/N?' your hateful thoughts echo in your mind. 'Why couldn't I get this stupid power, this strength to save you?! Failure, you're a complete, utter worthless failure Y/N!'

"Y/N-"

Sukuna reached out to touch you, making you slap his hand away and back up.

"Do not touch me," you hissed in anger.

You stomp away from him, going to a rib and lean against it, turning your back to him. Your head rests against the bone, glaring at nothing as negative thoughts infests your mind. You're numb, you cannot think straight, you lost part of your family because of you.

You made some stupid wish and that wish came true.

You hear Sukuna sigh and his footsteps move away from you. You peek behind you to see how far away he is. Of all places why are you here? Why couldn't you just finally die and everything would have been fixed.

'No wonder Gojo wants to tear me piece by piece,' you thought, scoffing. 'Would be grateful if he skipped the torture and just ripped my head off.'

No doubt people would follow in Gojo's footsteps, you're pretty sure soon enough you'll be executed just for existing. Would Yuji turn his back to you too? You don't have anyone else left...

'Am I going to die alone in this world?'

God you wished God would strike you now so you could end this pain.

-

"It's quiet without you around," Yuji mutters.

He stays by your side, not wanting to leave too long if you suddenly broke free. He pulls up a chair and has two cartons of food, one for him and one for you. It's been three days since you trapped yourself in this crystal and it's killing him.

"You won't believe this, you're probably going to have an execution like me," he laughs bitterly. "Isn't that hilarious, you promised to save me from that death sentence and then you get one as well."

He opens his food box and eats a french fry. "Gojo tried to make food again, but this time I didn't eat it. I also didn't want to eat without you, I'm used to eating beside you." Yuji laughs as he can imagine what you're saying. "I can hear you now, "Yuji did Gojo make terrible food again is that why you didn't eat it? You're correct." He laughs and takes a bite out of his burger.

"I didn't trust his American food again, I just ordered this and Nanami picked it up for me. You should hurry up and eat or else I will eat your food."

No response from you.

He turns to look at the other food cartons left for you that were left untouched. He thought about smashing the shell open but he's also worried about the possibly of shattering you to pieces as well.

Yuji's bottom lip tremble and he clears his throat. He takes another bite out of his burger, trying to fight the tears. "Nanami is worried about you too, I wonder what you and him talked about that you manage to make that guy worried. You should've seen it, he and I aren't exactly clicking but I can tell he's a big ole softy."

The silence was killing him as he's used to your loud boisterous voice or even your calm voice.

"Gojo has been quiet as well, you don't really know how much you mean to us, you mean to me." Yuji frowns and looks to the floor. "I know you have your demons, but we can go through to them together. I, Itadori Yuji, will protect you with my life." He places his hand on the shell.

"I will save you from your execution."

He nods, frowning determined to save you as you promised to save him.

"Boy."

Yuji turns around and there's the Goddess again.

"You," he whispers in shock. Seeing her made him stand quickly, the action made him drop all of his food. He didn't have time to waste, she could never stick around long. "How long do you have until you're sent away?"

"A few seconds, listen to me. Seeing as how she's choosing to stay, I need everyone's help. I have temples in this world that has some seals. Find the seals and you should be able to close the tears around the world."

"How do we use these seals? And how do we find all the tears? Is it around the world right now?"

"No, no right now it's only in Japan and whatever you do keep her calm, the more she uses the curse energy the more she will become a curse. A strong one, my brother is an idiot who gave her his power just to keep you all focused on her while he causes chaos around the worlds."

"Why can't you help us, why aren't you doing any of this?!" Yuji asked, getting upset.

"Because the curses from here are already causing other worlds to go into an apocalypse because there's no sorcerers there. I'm simply trying to clean up my brother's mess. Get the seals and seal the tears, stop the curses from going to other worlds."

And with that the Goddess disappears. Yuji sighs and sits down until his eyes widen.

"She never said where the temples were!"

-

You're losing sense of time the longer you're in here.

And Sukuna will not leave you alone.

You bite your inner cheek in irritation when Sukuna tried to talk to you. "Y/N I did something terrible, maybe beyond unforgivable." You rolled your eyes thinking, 'No, really?' You're resting your head against the giant rib, hoping you can get out of here soon. You didn't want to be around anyone, you just wanted to grieve in silence. And Sukuna doesn't understand basic human needs or emotions.

You blink slowly, staring into the familiar abyss as it stares back at you.

"Sukuna," you start. "This is something I can never forgive you for."

You turn to him and face him as he sits on his throne. "Knowing me, I'll get all happy and sappy as shit around you again. Maybe I'll even enjoy your company, but what you refused to do. Refusing to save my brother, I can never ever forgive you for that."

"Y/N-"

"I even offered to be your slave! I offered to burn the world to save him! Being anything, doing anything to save him and yet you refused it! What are you just that evil that you-"

"That is exactly why I refused to do it."

"What?"

"You think I want you to be my slave? To cause world domination? I can do that one on my own, but I don't want you to change. I...care for you." Your frown deepens and you turn your back to him.

"I don't believe you, there is no way! You don't do that to someone you care about!"

"Believe me when I say you're brother wouldn't be your brother anymore. It's better off that he's dead."

Your head snaps up and turn to him pissed off. You grab a skull and your curse energy surrounds it. "Fuck you!" you scream, launching the skull at him. His eyes widen when the skull comes at him at lightning speed.

He avoids the attack and lands behind you. Okay not the reaction he expected, but he could've worded his words a lot better as well. You turn around so quickly, screaming in anger.

You manage to hit him in the jaw, making him stumble back a bit. Not in pain, but in surprise that you managed to hit him. If it was anyone else, maybe that stupid sorcerer Gojo he would've felt pain, but it still hurt that you hit him.

He jumps back and continues to dodge your hits. "Better off dead!?" you scream, throwing as many punches as you can. "You're an asshole! An asshole! Every time I think there's something more to you you just show me you're nothing more than a curse!!"

Okay, that stung a little.

Alright a lot.

"Y/N I didn't mean it like that," he spoke, frowning. "I admit I could've worded it better I-"

You surprised him when you leaped into the air with your curse energy. Your legs landed on his shoulder, trapping him, and use your body weight to hurl him frontwards. He lands on his back as you get off of him for a second and sit on his stomach. You take this chance to punch him as he's stunned.

"I hate you!" you scream, throwing punch after punch. He lets you hit his face, his neck, his chest, anywhere. No matter where you hit though, it seems like you're not damaging him. He stares at you, unmoving.

"You could've saved him! Y-You could have! I could have..."  You stop hitting him entirely and cover your face with your hands, trying to stop your sobs. "I could have saved him! I should've stopped Mahito!" Your chest feels heavy, no everything in you, feels like you're drowning.

"So what could you have done differently?"

You take your hands away from your face, and his eyes narrow as he watches you. "I don't know I could've- if I would've just gotten stronger I could've saved everyone! I could have-"

"What could you have done differently?" he questions again, his eyes narrowing. "You were thrust into a world that is entirely different from yours."

"But I saw the future, I heard- I should've-!"

"Kid, it was supposed to be some brat name Junpei, right?" Sukuna argues. "No one could have thought your brother would take his place. So what makes you think the future is on a set path?"

"Well, I should have! I knew who Mahito was! A-And what he was capable of! I was weak! I was going to save him and Rosa but stupid Gojo picked the wrong time to interrogate me!"

"So do you blame Yuji? He failed to save your brother too."

"What? No! I could never blame him for this."

"But you deserve the blame?" He sits up, making you shift back onto his lap. Tears did not stop running down your face and Sukuna wipes them away.

"Kid, you only know part of our story," Sukuna said, frowning. "There's probably a lot of things you don't know about Mahito."

"If I just read the stupid books I could've done something!" you argued. "If I didn't waste my time being an alcoholic."

"But did you think you would've been taken here?"

"N-No but I should've prepared!"

"Kid, no one ever thinks they will be ripped away from their homes and taken to another world and for it to happen. Even if you read the books, you were not a curse user, you would be underprepared no matter what. You were living a normal life, what kind of normal person would have been prepared to take on a shapeshifting asshole?"

His reasons ring true to your ears, but you couldn't accept them. It was your fault. "B-But I could've fixed everything! I could have a better chance to save B/N, White demon dog, I-I could've been better-!"

"Fix what?" he questions, his voice hard. "From what I have seen things will always be out of your control. Even gypsies, and fortune tellers, are wrong and they claim to see the future. And even the small population that did see the future, is not always accurate. Even though our worlds are different there is the same thing, Y/N no matter what happens, no matter what you do... you can't save everyone."

Tears pour out of your eyes until you break down into a sob. Your body shakes as you let out the loudest sob you ever had in your life. All the nights you cried to yourself, were quiet tears hoping no one would hear you.

But it became too much, everything you were bottling up, everything you hid exploded and you could do nothing to stay quiet any longer. You didn't even care if you were sobbing in front of him, but what did surprise you is how his hand runs through your hair. Your forehead rests against his chest as you cry.

Sukuna lets you cry in his lap, as his hands continue to play with your hair. Your sobs die down and it's still silent between you two. You're grateful he didn't say anything else and that he let you cry your heart out.

But you're still pissed at him.

You'll most likely be angry at him for a long time for not trying. But right now you'll put it aside and plan to kill Mahito and Chaos.

"I'm a failure..." you whisper with a shaky breath.

"No Y/n, you're not a failure," he spoke, playing with the ends of your hair. "I didn't mean what I said."

"Then why did you say it?" you asked in a hushed tone.

"That worm was there, if he knew what you mean to me, you would've been taken away from me. It wasn't the right thing to do, but it was all I could think of and you were killed right in front of me. You were taken away from me anyways, well until you came back to life again."

"But B/N could you have-?"

"No, healing souls are completely different. I could have made him look "normal" but he wouldn't be normal. I tried before, souls go through tremendous amount of pain from turning that they lose who they were. Your brother would be impaired for the rest of his life. He would be lost."

He grabs your chin and makes you look up at him. You let out a shaky sigh, trying to process this information.

"I still think you should've tried. Even if it was a one-in-a-trillion chance."

"Should anything like that happen again, I will try," he said. "I can't promise a good outcome, but I'll try next time." You nod, giving a weak smile. "Thank you," you mumble. He reaches up and taps your nose. "You're welcome, sweetheart."

You sit in his lap, his body slowly swaying from side to side as he holds you. Resting your eyes, you feel his fingers, or specifically his nails, combing through your hair. Exhausted, tired you fell asleep in his arms and lap.

Sukuna sighs and holds out your soul. The color did brighten up a bit into a gray color. He can't expect you to be fine for a while, but that doesn't mean it it doesn't hurt.

'How long do humans grieve? Days, weeks, months, years? Hm should really work on choosing my words as well. Can't do much while I'm stuck here, I'll need to talk to the idiot and change our pact.'

He glances down, cupping your face. The marks has spread to your neck, moving up to your head. He peers through your mind again, searching for any answers he's missing from this whole mess. The biggest question though is how you were missing for eleven hours, he couldn't talk to you or even see through your mind.

First he started with the night he could not get in touch with you at all.

'Entered her room, dust...I'll kill that blind
