"Heaven never makes mistakes"

Adaline almost threw her phone away as she scrambled for the TV remote on the table. She didn't want to miss even a second of Tobiah's interview with Fallon. It was funny how a few weeks ago, she didn't even feel an inch of care for him but here she was, almost begging the TV to load faster.

Finally, she got to the E! channel where The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was on and she was thankful that they had just started. Adaline couldn't believe Tobiah had missed telling her something as big as this. But then again, since the day she had sent him to sleep, their conversations had been brief and even though Adaline kept an open mind on how busy Tobiah could be, she wished she could talk to him all day.

As cheesy as it sounded, Tobiah was the only boy that she felt she could talk to. Even though their meeting was purely accidental and they were never supposed to meet, Adaline felt like they were meant to be and not meant to be as in love but as friends. There are so many other beautiful celebs that Tobiah could be with. Why would he be with someone who can't even make friends? Plus, Adaline couldn't stand being in the public eye.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, tonight we're here with Academy Award winner Tobiah Wilks" Adaline watched intently as Jimmy Fallon introduced him. The audience clapped and shouted as Tobiah waved at them, a huge smile on his face.

Jimmy continued. "So Tobiah, this is your first time on the show. How does it feel?

"Well." Tobiah sighed. "It feels surreal. So many other celebrities have sat in this exact seat. It really does feel like I'm adding to their legacy"

The audience clapped again and a voice yelled "I love you, Tobiah". Adaline could see why his fans adored him. He carried an aura that oozed calmness. He had a way of making people comfortable. His personality too was another thing to love. He was funny, and humble and gave his fans even more love than they gave him.

Plus, his face and body were swoon-worthy. Tobiah had medium-length, curly, chocolate locks with emerald green eyes to go hand in hand with his hair. Pink plump lips in addition to straight pearly white teeth were enough to make any girl faint. It didn't help that he had dimples too.

Adaline didn't even want to think about his body. It was enough to say that it was obvious that Tobiah liked to keep in shape. A lot. It was safe to say that Adaline had been stalking his Instagram and searching for him on Google. That was just for research purposes, to see who she was dealing with.

"So let's talk about your Academy Award, how did it feel when you were nominated and when you won it?"

"I didn't expect it at all. It was a massive shock. To think people thought me worthy of an Academy Award was shocking and winning it was another surprise on its own"

Adaline remembered watching the Oscars in March. She remembered the moment when Tobiah had won Best Actor. She had no idea why she didn't like Tobiah at first but now, it was undeniable that she did.

Jimmy laughed. "I remember seeing that video of some fans at home screaming when they found out you won"

"That's why I love them so much. They mean a lot to me because they're why I'm acting. If it weren't for their continuous support, I would've given up a while ago" Tobiah said.

"Why's that?" Jimmy asked him.

"Fame at a young age can stress you out. I landed my first big role at 18 and it was chaos after that. That's why I'm waiting a few years for uni. I can't imagine going back to school now when I don't even know how to handle the fame"

"Did becoming famous affect your friendships?"

Tobiah laughed. "It did. I had random people that I went to high school with claiming to be best friends with me. So I just cut them off. Bennett Anders is the only one I talk to now"

"Bennett Anders? Your co-star? How close are you two?" Jimmy asked again.

"Judging by how much he comes over to my house and my name saved on his phone as 'Big Bad Bestie For Life', I'd say we're pretty close"

The audience laughed at Bennett's nickname for Tobiah and so did Adaline. It was adorable. Even Jimmy couldn't control his laughter.

"That's adorable" Jimmy chuckled. "So do you have any ordinary friends? Friends that aren't famous?"

Adaline held her breath as Tobiah thought about it. He wouldn't mention her, would he?

"I wasn't going to talk about her but to hell with it, why not? I do have a friend that isn't famous but I won't mention her name for privacy reasons "

Adaline almost passed out. Tobiah was talking about her on live TV. She had always wanted to be on TV but not like this.

"Her?" Jimmy said with a wink and Tobiah laughed. "How'd you meet?"

"It's quite funny actually. One day, she decided to type in a random number and prank text it with a pickup line. We've been talking ever since"

"So she just typed in a number and it just happened to be yours?" Jimmy asked him, trying to confirm if he had heard Tobiah correctly.

"Yeah. I found it hard to believe too"

Jimmy clapped his hands and smiled at Tobiah. "That right there Tobiah is fate"

Tobiah grinned. "I guess it is"

I am so sorry for the wait, I had my first final exam on Wednesday and I was so stressed. I also apologize if this chapter isn't well written, I rushed it as my second final exam starts next week so I'm even more stressed.

If you noticed, I changed the Grammy Awards to the Academy Awards/ Oscars. I forgot that a Grammy is for singing and not acting.

Anyway, tell me your thoughts on this chapter. Did you like it?

If you did, don't forget to tap that little star and share.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll see you in the next one.

Bye besties

~ Indigo.
