"I missed you both so much!" I cried breaking down as I held both of my children in my arms tightly.

This moment was probably by the far the most special I had ever shared with my kids. I never ever wanted to be away from them again, no matter what.

I must've kissed and hugged them tightly a million times. Seeing their smiles reminded me of how much I loved them and appreciated being their mother on the daily bases.

"Madi What's this?" Allure asked pulling at the big block monitor strapped around my ankle.

I placed the pan of muffins I had just freshly mixed into the over and closed it, leaning over and picking my big girl up.

"It's a step counter for mommy, are you ready for some applesauce until dinners ready?" I declared redrawing her attention to her favorite snack.

I sat Allure into her high chair and allowed her to indulge.

Small moments like this were so important I was learning. Just as I grabbed a thought of free time my mind ran on Morgan. Another broken promise, I couldn't lie to her she was counting on me and I was the only one she had to rely on. Another reason why I couldn't be found guilty, I needed to get custody of her and provide her with a normal life.

Angela entered the kitchen as I returned to frying the chicken I was flouring.

"How are you?"  She questioned sincerely taking a stance along the island of the kitchen.

"I honestly don't know, I'm happy— happy to be here with my babies and thankful to have people who care, I guess." My voice was soft and uncertain and I gave little to no contact as I continued battering the chicken preparing to put it into the pan to fry.

"Well you know we wouldn't be anywhere but here with you in a time like this...—listen" Angela emphasized changing her tone to that of a serious one as she moved closer to me. "I want you to know that we're here for you and we support you. And — if anything were to happen god forbid, Your babies, Power and Allure will be in good hands so don't allow that to worry you. Right now you need to focus on yourself and freedom, I'll take care of both of them—regardless of what's taken place between the two of us. I just want to forget about it and accept it for what it is."

I paused intaking everyone of her words as I turned giving her my undivided  attention, rethinking my words.

"Accept what? —You said ...Accept it.... for what it is?" I repeated in confusion.

Angela glimpsed around the kitchen to see just her, Allure, and I. Her eyes set on Allure as she didn't remove them and gazed directly at my baby.

Allure was scooping up the remainder of her applesauce, enjoying every oz of it. Totally oblivious of what was going on around her.

"—I went through Ricks belongings... his emails. You see, I've gotten to a point in my marriage where I don't even trust the man I married, but... without him— I don't know where I'd go financially and just how the hell to become a single mother. Even though half the time it feels like it.—but that's neither here nor there, Madison... I went through My husbands emails and came across an urgent email from DNA Attributes."

When she said those words my heart sunk into my stomach and if I hadn't already I'm sure my nerves were about to show.

"—I opened the email and it stated verbatim, because I read forty million times. "In the case 000346783 involving Allure Hillard, DNA testing has confirmed that you are 99.99999% the father. If you would like to speak with a consultant call 1-800-675-1803." Her tone was cold and defeating, I must've turned blue in the face as she said those words without changing her tone a bit or taking her eyes off of Allure.

"I called—I called 1-800-675-1803, it rung about 6 times before an automated message picked up, press 0 for an operator and did, it ring about twice and a woman picked up. I deepened my voice , "hello, this is Rick social security number 267-84-1938, and she asked for the security code. Being his wife of all of these years I knew it. It was the last four of his social, 1938, and the operator asked, what can I help you with, and I just replied, I wanted to verify the DNA results I received and she went on——."

For the first time Angela took her eyes off of Allure and Looked me in the face.

Surprisingly she didn't have any tears in her eyes visibly but yet they were there.

"My husband, the father of my two beautiful kids, is the father of Allure." She smiled uncomfortably.

There was a long silence amongst us as she shook her head glimpsing up at the ceiling before back at me.

"So that's what I meant by accepting it for what it is and moving on." She reiterated clasping her hands together and shrugging.

"Angela you don't know the half, I never."

"Don't."  She objected raising her hand for me to stop. "I don't want to even discuss this any further. Now is about you, not you and rick. Just know if anything happens I'd never abandon your babies, I just can't be that cruel. As much as your mother would want me to be, she doesn't even know. She only assumes. Anyhow what the hell, when's the food done?" She questioned, snapping back into reality.

I was in utter shock analyzing the entire situation that had just taken place.

Angela fumbled around the kitchen as if we had just held a casual Conversation about dinner.

She walked over pinching allures cheeks  making her smile before she left the kitchen.
