Imagine sitting down for thanks giving dinner as a single mother. Sharing a table with two kids that were products of rape, a mother that despised you, the man that raped you, the woman that envied you, and a father that was disappointed in you.

Never in a million years did I believe this would be me, but here I was standing.

With all the food on the table and everyone chattering including my brother. I had zoned out and was in deep thought, disconnected from the world.

The reoccurring thought that Kamron had been released today hovered over me. I say quietly as everyone chatted and talked about everything they were thankful for.

"I couldn't be more thankful for a husband and friend like you rick."

It was an unsaved number that looked oh so familiar. I didn't bother say excuse me, I simply walked to the quieter hall answering.

"Hello?"

"Madison this is Charlotte, powers grandmother."

I took a quick glimpse at the number before repositioning my ear.

"Okay. Yes." I replied unsure.

"Things are taking a turn Gregory's being put into hospice, it won't be long. I hope you've made a decision with god if his final wish can be answered, please?"

I paused briefly. "Yes, ill only allow this on one condition." I added

"Thank god, god bless you." She sighed. "What is it?"

"I know that Kamrons being released so I don't want anything to do with him, nor do I want power to know about him or see him." I replied firmly.

"Yes Ofcourse absolutely I give you my word. Thank you so much Madison. When's the earliest you can make it here I'll pay for the flights and rooms, just give me the word and I'll send a check." She assured.

"That won't be necessary, I can try for a flight in the next week."

"Oh Madison darling please I don't believe he has long. The next 48 hours is very essential please." She begged desperately.

I thought this over the best I could in the short allowed time before agreeing to be in a flight by Tomorrow no later than the next morning after.

Things were moving so fast I didn't know how I was going to explain this.

The walk only did my the justice of having time to think, before I knew it I was back on my parents steps entering the house that sung the various foods of thanksgiving. The smell was seeping out of the door.

I entered the den where everyone except Angela was watching the news about a fire that had broken out and stood there, before announcing my Jurassic news.

"I have to be on a flight by tomorrow to see Powers grandfather he doesn't have long."

In those words everyone's attention turned to me and the various expressions of confusion and utter shock spoke before their words.

"I understand, we understand." My father said in an unexpected manner. His words floored me nearly.

"We'll be accompanying you." My mother added behind him.

"Who is we?" I replied confused.

"No we will." My dad interjected. "I and rick will be there for emotional support." My father restated correcting my mother firmly and she didn't budge.

In this moment I remembered my father knew nothing about rick and I at all he was in the dark and didn't have the slightest clue.

I was utterly drained after this entire ordeal and knew I couldn't argue.

"I'm taking Allure with me." I stared, walking over to her playing with a teddy bear and picking her up. " the flight is booked for tomorrow morning 8am, so I better go pack." I softly added exiting the turmoil I knew I had just brewed.

I wasn't sure of what I was doing at all but something was pushing me in this direction.

Having rick on this trip by far wasn't the best idea but he was still my lawyer and could be essential at any given moment. As much as it disgusted me I had no choice but to allow it.

Power entered and I explained to him he would be on his first plane ride across the word in less than a few hours and surprisingly he was excited.

Nothing brung more joy than seeing him this happy about this trip.
