3rd POV

It was a calm, peaceful night. The stars and moon shone brightly in the sky, and all the mobs were sleeping peacefully in the little village Herobrine had built for all his students.

All except one...

Skeleton lay in bed, shaking and turning over in his sleep. He was having a nightmare; a terrible one.

"No... not them... please..." He begged, as he shivered even under the light grey blanket. He'd been having nightmares a lot recently, but they had always been the same thing: his parents and sister dying to a wolf pack. But tonight...

Tonight he was having the worst nightmare of his life. He'd experienced nightmares before, but it had never happened for this many nights in a row. And they never scared him like this.

He kept whispering pleads in his sleep, not having anything or anyone he could turn to for comfort.

Wither's POV

I had been awake since 9 am yesterday, and it was currently 2:35 am. Wither skeletons naturally don't need as much sleep as other mobs.

I was just on my balcony, looking at the night sky. Even though I preferred it darker than it was now, I always found it beautiful.

I found myself thinking of Skeleton. I smiled and blushed a little bit as I thought of his beautiful sky blue eyes that always shone, his smile, the adorable face he made when he made a mistake on a test...

I had liked him for almost a year now, but still had never told him. As the time gets longer, I get more confused on whether my feelings for him are just a long-time crush or if I'm actually in love with him.

But he probably didn't feel the same way about me...

Now that I was thinking about him, I had the feeling I should check on him. He doesn't know this, but I sometimes teleport to his house and check to see if he's okay. He was always sound asleep, but I hadn't checked on him in a while.

Trusting my gut, I used my hacking power to teleport to his house. I looked over at him, expecting him to be sound asleep like he always was.

But seeing him this time crushed me.

He turned over restlessly in his sleep, shivering even under the blanket. I could see tears streaking down his milk-colored cheeks as he silently cried.

"Please, not him. Anyone but him..." he whispered in his sleep. He sounded terrified and heartbroken. It hurt my heart to see him like this.

I debated whether or not to wake him up. Would he think I'm a creep for teleporting to his house and checking on him in the middle of the night?

As I looked at him again, I made my choice.

"Skeleton! Skeleton, Wake up!" I whisper-shouted, jiggling his shoulder.

Slowly, he stopped shaking, and finally opened his breathtaking sky blue eyes.

"W-Wither?"

Skeleton's POV

I was having an awful nightmare, the kind where you know you're dreaming but can't wake yourself up.

A figure that was too fast to see had slaughtered all my friends and classmates in front of me, and only one was left: my close friend and long-time crush, Wither.

"Move, you stupid wither! Get out of the way!" The shadowed figure demanded, holding an iron sword dripping with the blood of my friends.

"If you want Skeleton, you'll have to go through me first," Wither snarled, standing between him and me.

"I thought the all-powerful hacker Wither had no weaknesses," the figure said as he raised his sword.

"I was wrong."

I screamed, unable to move, as the figure started to bring his sword down.

"Please, not him! Anyone but him!" I begged, tears pouring out of my eyes.

"It is a pity. I don't have a heart to listen to your pathetic pleas," the figure said.

Then he sliced Wither right in front of me. I screamed as his body dropped in front of me.

"See, Skeleton? Your friends are all dead... Even the mighty ha-"

"Skeleton! Skeleton, wake up!" I heard a familiar voice cut off the figure's words. My scenery started to change. Instead of being in a dark place with the bodies of my friends all around me, I was in my house, in my bedroom. I looked up and saw Wither standing there. He looked really worried.

"W-Wither?" I whispered hoarsely. Normally I would be wondering what he was doing here and how he got in, but at this moment I was too relieved.

"Skeleton, are y-" Wither started, but I cut him off as I leapt forward and hugged him.

Thank Notch it was a dream after all...

Wither's POV

I was shocked when Skeleton hugged me after waking up, instead of asking me what I was doing here like I expected him to.

"W-Wither..." he sobbed, holding me tightly. I blushed a little bit and thanked Notch that it was hard to tell, thanks to it being nighttime.

"It's alright, Skeleton, I'm here," I soothed, rubbing his back comfortingly.

"H-He killed you."

"What?" I asked, surprised.

"S-somebody... he k-killed everyone! H-he k-killed you! I couldn't do anything!" He sobbed, clutching to me as if he was drowning and I was a life floatie.

"Nobody is dead... we're safe... I'm safe..." I said softly, shocked that he would have such a horrible nightmare.

Then I remembered him saying, in his sleep...

"Please, not him. Anyone but him..."

"Skeleton?" I asked.

He looked up at me, his tears already starting to dry. "Y-Yes?"

"I heard you say in your sleep, 'anyone but him'... who was it?" I asked. I figured it was Zombie, seeing as he and Skeleton are best friends.

Skeletons blushed and looked down, seeming hesitant to answer.

Does he like Zombie??

"Was it Zombie?" I asked, hoping, but not expecting, that the answer was no.

But apparently my hopes were lifted.

"N-no.... It wasn't Zombie..." he said, still looking down. He finally looked up at me, still blushing.

"It was you..."

I blushed too, and since we were right in front of the window, the starlight that came through it probably allowed him to see it.

Shit.

"Why me?" I asked, looking down at him (since I'm taller than him by about six inches).

My heart was pounding like a drum as I realized a possibility why.

Does he like me the way I like him?

There's no way. No way in Nether he feels the same...

"I-It's because..." he started, but he stopped. "N-no, you'd think it was stupid..."

"Try me."

My heart was beating as fast as Slime running after drinking a Potion of Swiftness. And seeing as he was right up against me, he could probably feel it. Shit.

"I-It's because... I have a crush on you, W-Wither...", he confessed, looking back down again.

My eyes widened as the truth sank in.

He likes me back...

Skeleton's POV

Great job, Skeleton, I thought. The truth is out. He's probably going to hate me-

"You do?" He asked. I looked up at him, and his face didn't even show a slight sign of anger. It showed shock and... relief??

"Y-Yeah," I said, looking back down again. "Do... do you hate me?" I asked. Even though it didn't seem like he did, I just wanted to be sure.

"Fuck no," he said, prompting me to look up again. His dark green eyes were full of warmth. "There's nothing you could possibly say or do to make me hate you, Skelly."

"Skelly?" I asked. He's never called me that before.

He seemed surprised, but then he looked at me, a loving smile on his face.

Wait... loving?!

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked.

Does he like me back? There's no way, right?

Wither's POV

He caught me looking at him with the way I feel about him? Shit.

"Do you wanna know why?" I asked.

"Yeah?"

"It's because... I love you, Skeleton," I confessed myself, looking at him with the best loving look I could give him. Even though I hadn't been sure before, seeing him like that and hearing his own confession made me realize I didn't just have a crush on him, but that I was in love with him.

"You do?" He asked, a disbelieving look on his face.

"Yeah... but I thought you wouldn't feel the same, so I never told you..."

He looked at me, "That's the same reason I never told you!"

"How long have you liked me?" I asked.

"If I'm being honest, I think almost a year now..."

No fucking way.

"That's the same amount of time I've loved you, too..."

"We both liked each other for the same amount of time?" He asked, but seemingly to himself.

"Apparently," I said, blushing the color of a rose and my heart pounding as fast as Enderman could teleport.

"Wither?" He asked.

"Yeah?"

"Can I kiss you?" He asked, looking up at me and blushing.

Instead of answering, carefully pressed my lips to his. His eyes widened, but he kissed me back.

There's nobody else I'd rather have my first kiss with.

3rd POV

This was both Wither and Skeleton's first kiss, so it was gentle and ever-so-slightly hesitant at first, but as a few seconds ticked by, it got more stable. Skeletons wrapped his arms around Wither's neck, and he could feel him smile. After about ten seconds, though, their lungs were demanding air, so they had to pull away.

"I can't tell you how long I've wanted to do that," Wither admitted, resting his charcoal grey forehead against Skeleton's milk white one.

"I can't either," Skeleton agreed.

"I-I guess I should be going home now..." Wither said.

"How'd you get in?" Skeleton asked.

"I teleported," Wither said, just as if he was saying that the sky was blue or that the Nether was hot.

"Oh..."

Wither stood up to go, but Skeleton grabbed his hand.

"Don't go..." he said.

Wither looked at him, slightly blushing. "You want me to stay?"

Skeleton nodded. "You don't mind?"

"Of course not," Wither replied. He laid down on the bed, and Skeleton blushed as he laid down beside him. Wither wrapped his arms around Skeleton's waist, pulling him closer to him.

"Good night Skelly."

"Good night Wither."

Needless to say, this happened nearly every night after, and Skeleton never had nightmares as long as Wither was there.
