AVERY

"What kiss are you talking about Dylan?" My voice comes out all squeaky but I don't care. I am beyond confused right now. Did we— No! No! That can't happen.

His eyebrows lift and his mouth opens and close a few times but nothing comes out. He gulps making his adam's apple bob. "Uh...um...ahem...You..." He mumbles and trails off.

"I kissed you that night, didn't I?" I ask in a hushed voice. I have lost my voice. My throat dries up and I feel my face getting heated up.

"Well...that and..." He brings his hand up to the collar, loosens his tie and pops open a button. "...more, " he says and pulls down the collar a little revealing a red spot...is that a hickey?!

"Oh my God!" I gasp and cover my mouth, and take a step back. "Did we...did we have...?" Please say no. I silently pray.

"No! No! I wouldn't do that! You were drunk, " Dylan adds quickly on realizing what I am asking. I let out a long breath I didn't know I was holding. I can't believe I gave him a hickey. He is the guy I hated with every bone of my body. What's up with me?!

I cover my face with both my hands and shaking my head vigorously, I say, "why didn't you tell me anything about it?!"

"I didn't think you would remember anything."

"Then why did tell me now?" I squeak and look at him. Damn, I can't even look at him now!

"Because you asked me!" He defends. "I figured maybe you remember something, after all."

I turn around and walk towards the other end of the room with shaky legs where lies the couch. I take a seat at the edge before I fall and put my head in my hands. "I can't believe I did that. Why didn't you stop me?!" I look up at him.

"I tried but you were sucking on my neck like a leech!" He stands up straight and my mouth falls open. I can't believe he said something like that. He can he blame me completely?!

Gritting my teeth I say, "I was drunk but you were sober right?" I pause and give him an accusing look, "Or were you enjoying it?"

His lips lift into a smirk and he slowly comes towards me with a mischievous look. I remain seated in my place with my eyes fixed ad him. As he reaches in front of me, he takes a seat at the edge of the small table in front of the couch and leans towards me, "Are you asking for a review, Olivia?" His voice, husky and his eyes pinning me at my place. Our faces are extremely close right now. I wonder how I would feel if I remembered the whole night vividly.

Quickly shaking off the thought I say, "No..."

"Well, in that case, it's okay. But otherwise, I can define the night in details." He leans back up, giving me a look of fake innocence. I can't help but groan at his comment. He lets out a little laugh making me shoot a glare at him.

"What else did I do?" Hoping it to be less embarrassing.

"Nothing..." He shrugs. "You just complimented me and did a bit of seduction, that's it." My eyes widen, almost pop out of my sockets.

"Oh my God..." I had and look down, putting my head in my hand.  "Is this why you were ignoring me on Sunday?" I ask while my head is still tilted down. When he doesn't answer I look to find him frowning with his eyes fixed outside the glass but I can tell that he is not looking at anything in particular. I reach out, gently touch his knee and call, "Dylan?"

He looks at me as if thrown out of his haze and hurries to answer, "Yeah. Yeah, that's why."

"Why do I feel like you are lying?" I ask quietly. Was he still mad about that graveyard thing?

"Maybe because you are reading too much into it?" He looks annoyed. What did I say? I look away from him, not wanting to show I felt bad. "C'mon Avery, after such a heated session with you at night, I can't pretend as nothing happened between us in the morning." He puts a hand on mine which is resting on my lap. I look down at our hands and then at him. He wants me to drop it. I can see it in his eyes.

"Oh..." I say, not knowing if I should dig in some more or apologize to him about Saturday morning again. Maybe he is still angry about it.

"Anything else Mrs Walker?" He lifts his eyebrows, playfully and I can't help but smile. The tension that was created suddenly, gets dissolved.

"No Thank you, Mr Walker. I have to go to work now." I get up from the couch and so does he. I shift from in front of him and step aside.

"Aren't you taking too much advantage of being the boss?" He teases.

"Haawww, that's mean! I never do that!" I let out and pout. I never do anything like that. I am quite professional but I dont boss people around.

"I was just kidding. Chill." He laughs, softly.

"Haha! Very funny!" I mock him and turn around. I walk towards the door, open it and step out. Dylan comes behind me. I look at him frowning and ask, "Why are you coming?"

He looks straight ahead and then at me, "I'll drop you off to your car, is there a problem?"

"I didn't say there was..." I shrug and start walking. Suddenly, Dylan slips his hand into mine and interlocks our fingers. Surprised, I look at him to find him pressing his lips to hold in his smile. Even I have to press my lips to keep my face from breaking into a grin.

"I'm holding my wife's hand, you don't have to give me that look..." He says, with his eyes straight ahead, while trying to maintain a straight face.

Unable to hold in, I start laughing, "You're acting cute."

His head snaps in my direction with his face split into a huge smile, "Did you just call me cute?"

Rolling my eyes, I say, "I said you were  'acting' cute. Like now you are being obnoxious." I love to tease him.

"How can I change from cute to obnoxious within ten seconds?"

"How would I know? Your inner talent, I guess." I shrug playfully and bite my lower lip.

He leans into my ear and whispers in a husky voice, "You haven't seen my talents yet, Olivia. Maybe next time when you won't be drunk I can show you?" My eyes widen and I barely contain the gasp from leaving my mouth. My body immediately gets heated up. I have noticed these reactions in my body every time he does something like this. He smirks at my reaction like the arrogant bastard he is and leans back up.

Looking behind me he says a little loudly, "Madelyn, I am going to drop her off to her car. I'll be back within ten minutes." I look behind to find that woman standing at the edge of her desk. Her eyes fall once on our intertwined hand abut she looks away quickly.

She smiles softly at Dylan and says, "Yeah sure. Oh, your shirt is...oh." She takes a few steps towards him and stops then looks down flushed. Oh no!

"No! It's not what you think! We didn't do anything here," I say hastily. I don't want them thinking that we did something in there.

"She didn't say, anything babe." That smirky bastard looks at me and winks. I am so going to kill him once I get him alone. My face is probably red of embarrassment right now and he just made it worse.

He looks at Madelyn, as I think her name is, and explains, "Actually, she is my wife. Olivia Walker."

"I prefer Avery, " I say and look at Dylan with a challenging expression. He smirks and shakes his head.

"And Olivia, she is my assistant Madelyn, " he introduces, waving his hand back and forth between us.

I step closer to her and hold out my hand, "Nice to meet you." Luckily my right hand is free because I highly doubt Dylan would've let it go.

"Nice to meet you too. I am sorry I couldn't attend your wedding." She shakes my hand gently and smiles politely at me.

"It's ok." I nod and step back.

"I'll let you guys go." She looks at both of us, smiling warmly.

"See you!" I say.

"You too, " she calls from behind.

Dylan pulls me along with him by my hand towards the elevator. As soon as we are far enough from the reception area and alone, I snatch my hand away from his and snap, "I hate you!"

"Tell me something I don't know." He holds my hand again and pulls me close to his side. Before I can remove my hand from his, we are in front of the elevator and the door opens revealing two elderly gentlemen who give Dylan and me a little nod and passes me. I step in first then he. As soon as the door closes, I step away from him. There's no one in the elevator so that's better.

I lean against the mirror on the wall and fold my arms against my chest. Dylan is standing at on my left, with an amused expression. I roll my eyes at him but he doesn't pay attention. When I look at him again, I find his eyes travel down my body and back up. "What are you looking at?" I snap.

"Apparently, my wife's outfit which looks pretty fine on her," he says casually as if he did not just flirt with me. But instead of answering, my eyes fall on his collar and loosened tie and Madelyn's expression flashes in front of me. I move in front of him and start fixing his shirt.

I feel him stiffen as soon as I touch his shirt. I look at his face through my lashes to find him looking at me, astounded, with his smirk, completely gone. "Don't look at me like that. I dont want people to think we were doing something." I tighten his tie.

"Doesn't change the fact that we did." He teases.

I narrow my eyes at him and point and his chest. "We didn't do anything here! And I was drunk. I wasn't thinking."

"You weren't overthinking." My expression immediately sobers up. I know he didn't mean it with such a deep meaning but after today's talk with Meli, I can't ignore the fact that I do overthink sometimes, most of the times when it comes to Dylan. He gently places his hand on my shoulder and I look up. "Did I say something wrong?" He is afraid I will run again.

"No... It's just...nothing." I brush it off an step away from him, letting his hand fall from my shoulder. He nods slowly and gives me a tight smile. I know he wants to know what it is but I haven't completely comprehended today's discussion with Meli in my head myself. The elevator door opens into the parking lot and I step out, with a lot of things running through my mind. Suddenly as a thought strikes "Oh, " I say and spin around only to meet Dylan's chest. I stumble back and let out a chuckle. "Woah you scared me."

"You're quite easy to scare, I see." I stick my tongue out at him and make a face to which he starts laughing. I can't help but smile seeing him like this.

When he sobers up, I look down and start, "Now that everything is settled..." I look up at him cautiously.

"What's everything?" He asks.

"You know I apologized to you about that graveyard thing. And you've forgiven me. You have right?" Did he not?

"No..." He says with a serious expression. My heart immediately gets heavy and I look down. Maybe I messed up so bad this time that he will never forgive me. Why will he? I bite my lips as I feel my throat start to clog up. Dylan quickly hooks a finger under my chin and tilts my head up and says, "Hey, I was just messing with you. Of course, I did."

"Not funny. Anyways, so I was wondering if that non-interfering thing still holds..?" I ask and purse my lips.

"No...it doesn't..." He lifts an eyebrow asking me to explain.

"So, can I go see your mom?" His chuckles lightly.

"You don't have to ask me. She loves you. She would love to see you, Avery, you know that." He smiles broadly.

"Thanks," I say, delighted and turn around. We starting walking towards my car.

"If you are free tomorrow then mind if I take you?" He asks me as we near my vehicle.

"No. That would be great. We can go after we get back from work." I suggest.

"Cool." He shrugs and opens my car door for me. As I place my hand on the door he asks playfully, "So...do I get a goodbye kiss?"

I roll my eyes a tease, "Don't fly Mr Walker." He starts laughing and looks away. I dont know what takes me up, I place my hand on his shoulder, push up on my tiptoes and place a quick kiss on his cheeks, catching him off guard. I never thought I would do this in the sober state but I did it, anyway. Dylan's laughter died off as soon as my lips touched his cheeks. He looks at me wide-eyed, dumbfounded.

Biting my lip to keep in my laughter, I quickly get into the car and close the door. As I start driving, I look at Dylan from my side mirror. He touches his cheeks and I can't help but giggle. I see his hand fall at his side and his image getting smaller in the mirror. He is watching my car and I bet I see a smile on his face before I leave the parking lot.
