Charlotte^
•~•~•

It's been two weeks since I've arrived at the pack and I've started becoming more comfortable here.

I usually stay in the house with Charlotte while Noah and Luke are doing pack work so I've become close with her, as well as Noah and Luke.
Noah is also very patient with me. He has gotten me used to his touches slowly so now I'd barely flinch when he'd touch me.

Right now, I'm sitting in the living room with Charlotte watching a movie while the boys are doing pack work.

Charlotte is what you'd call a 'badass'. She looks the part and acts it but deep down is the type of girl who cries when a dog dies in a movie.

Since I haven't watched a lot of movies, Charlotte picked the movie and chose 'Marley and Me'. I didn't know what it was about or what was going to happen so I just agreed.

But I'm regretting that.

We're both sobbing as we watched the ending of it, used tissues thrown over the couch and coffee table.
"Why!" Charlotte cried as she blew her nose.
I picked up a tissue and blew my nose into it as the remaining tears slipped down my cheeks.

I heard the front door slam open and fast approaching footsteps, making us jump in surprise.

"What's wrong? Why are you crying? Who do I have to kill?" Noah asked as soon as crouched down in front of me, holding my hands. I nodded to the tv and saw him visibly relax but then groaned and turned back to me.
"Oh no, please don't tell me you're like Charlotte when watching sad movies" he huffed.

I scowled and slapped the back of the head. But soon froze after realising what I did.
My breathing grew heavier and my hands trembled as I stared wide eyed between him and the hand I hit him with.

"Hey, it's ok" Noah said softly as he held my trembling hands in his. I shook my head from side to side and tried to get my hands out of his hold.
"Lillian stop. I'm not going to hurt you" he soothed, holding my hands tightly. I looked up with teary eyes and locked gazes with him.

He removed one of his hands from mine and used it to wipe away the tears that had fallen down my face.
"It's ok. I know you were only messing around and that's ok" he smiled at me while he caressed my cheek with his thumb.

His touch began calming me down so I slowly nodded my head and looked down at my, now, settled hands on my lap.
I looked up and realised we were the only people in the living room.

"I asked Luke and Charlotte to go when you started having a panic attack" he answered my unanswered question.

I nodded my head and looked back at my hands.
"Have you eaten today?" He asked. I shrugged and pointed to the bowl that was filled with popcorn.

"Popcorn? That's all you've eaten?"

I nodded my head again then I was being pulled up from the couch and taken to the kitchen.

"Ok, we're going on a picnic" he grinned as he pulled a basket out from under the counter. He then began filling the basket with all sorts of different foods and two plates, forks and knives.
"Lets go" he smiled down at me, taking my hand and leading me outside.

We walked into the forest and continued walking, hand in hand, for about 15 minutes before arriving at a clearing.

There were wild flowers everywhere, all different and vibrant colours. In the centre was a big tree. The only part of the meadow that was clear, with only grass underneath, was under the tree. The leaved branches acting as a roof over it.

"Beautiful isn't it" Noah sighed happily. I nodded my head instantly, still in awe of the clearing. He tugged on my hand and brought us over to the tree and we sat underneath it, after he laid a blanket on the grass.

"My sister and I used to come here all the time. This was our favourite place" Noah smiled to himself as he looked up at the sky. I tilted my head to the side curiously when he said 'used to'.

I reached for his hand and wrote out 'used to?' on the palm of his hand using my finger. He sighed sadly before looking up at me and continuing.

"She died six years ago. Rogue attack"

My hand shot up to my mouth as I gasped and looked at him.

"Melanie was my twin, which made everything that happened harder. We were as close as two siblings could be. We'd tell each other everything" he stopped for a few seconds, smiling unconsciously as he replayed memories of his youth with his twin sister.

"Then on our 18th birthday, we had a huge party to celebrate. People from neighbouring packs came and my sister and I had a great time. We were about to cut our birthday cake when rogues began jumping out from the forest and just....attacked. Everyone. We weren't prepared for an attack, everyone was having a day off, relaxing, having fun then rogues came along and ruined everything" his voice cracked towards the end so I took his hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze.

"I panicked. The first thing I did was look for my sister and I saw her, she was crying and hugging a rogue, away from the fighting. I knew then that they were mates. I wasn't mad or anything, just worried because her mate had initially came here to kill the pack but anyways, I saw another rogue about to attack them so I shouted her name but was tackled before I could get closer to her. I was fighting off rogue after rogue, making my way to her.
Her mate was protecting her, for that I was grateful but while he was fighting off one, another jumped out from behind her and attacked her.

The leader of the rogue group, was the one who killed my sister. When he found out one of his people was mates with my sister he got mad and killed her. I attacked him but was tackled off of him and then all the rogues retreated.
My sisters crying mate was being dragged away from us. When I reached my sister she was already dead. I felt our bond break and it left me feeling...empty" his voice cracked again as he continued his story.

Tears were streaming down my face as I listened and although he tried to stay strong, his eyes held unshed tears.

"Every rogue I encountered since then I hated, killed most of them. I haven't celebrated my birthday either. I usually come here so I can spend time with my sister, in a way. When I became Alpha the next year, I soon became the most ruthless and strongest Alpha in America because of all the hate that I had. I was angry at everyone and everything. I became cold and distanced myself from family and friends"

"But then" he smiled through his tears as he looked at me "then you came along and changed everything"

I looked at him, eyes wide, mouth open slightly.
"The only person I talked to on a regular basis was Luke. The main reason was because he's my Beta but also my best friend. I know I was an ass to everyone but you changed that. You made me smile again"

He turned to face me fully, holding both my hands in his then brought them up to his lips, kissing my knuckles.

I couldn't hold back anymore so I jumped forward and wrapped my arms around his neck. Due to the impact, we both fell backwards so he was now lying back on the blanket and I was lying on top of him.

I tried pulling back so we could sit up right but he wrapped his arms around my waist. He rested his face in my shoulder and hugged me tightly.

I slowly brought my head up, as did he, and I gazed at his face.
His eyes were bloodshot and his cheeks had tear stains on them. I used my thumbs to wipe them away and smiled softly down at him.

"Thank you" I mouthed to him.
"For what?" He asked.

"Everything" I replied with a smile.
