"No way I'll go trick or treating," I said rolling my eyes. "Soph we're 18, no one will give us candy, they'll make fun of us."

"I'll bring my dog, everyone likes pets in costumes," she said putting her P.E bag over her shoulder and walking to the door.

"That doesn't make it any better," I groaned.

"Then let's party," she grinned. "Saddie will host a costume party tomorrow."

Bitch, I know that's exactly what she wanted since the beginning.

"Costume party?" I groaned again.

"Would you rather go trick or treating then?"

...

It was Friday noon and I didn't have school today, apparently it's All Saints' Day and I basically spent it looking at the ceiling just thinking about what I would do to get Daniella to at least consider giving me a chance, I'm not smart like she is, I'm not rich and I don't have a lot of good mannerism, I'm just a teenager and she's a full-grown woman with her life all set and organized, she has a great car and she might be rude but you can see she is well mannered, for all I know she might have someone she already likes.

I know it's stupid of me to say I like her a lot because the truth is I don't even know her well, I'm hooked on her good looks and her sexy confidence and that's terrible but I can't help it, I want her.

I pushed these thoughts aside and decided it was time to dress up, Soph was coming to pick me up for that stupid Halloween party, I didn't really want to go but I had no choice with Soph and I kind of promised I would go just to shut her up, anything is better than going trick or treating.

It was a costume party but I have no intention of dressing myself up for it. I ended up picking a pair of ripped blue jeans and a black crop top hoodie. Black old skool vans? Who am I kidding I wear those all the time, no matter how many shoes I own. I looked in the mirror and you know what would go well? Fishnet tights and now I look edgy and a 'try too hard to be aesthetic', you know what? That's my costume if anyone asks. I just picked up my stuff and went to the living room to let dad know I would leave soon.

"Send me a message when you get there and when you leave as well also call if you want me to pick you up earlier or in case you don't want to sleep at Soph's," believe it or not I've heard this same words every time I go out.

"Yes, don't worry dad."

"Don't drink too much."

"I won't."

"Don't accept drinks from anyone."

"Aye aye."

"Don't walk around alone and stay with your friends, if someone tries to do something you use the spray," he said crossing his arms. " You have it with you right?"

"Yes dad I know and I have it with me," I said amused, he always did this and I'm not complaining, he cares and I don't blame him for worrying too much, he was a single dad and I was a single child, we only had each other.

"You may go now," he said opening his arms to give me a hug. "I love you my little challah bread."

"I love you, big nose."

After finally getting dad to let me go I met Soph inside her beat-up car.

"Now this is a car for the occasion," I mocked as I went in.

"Oh shut up," she said rolling her eyes amusedly.

She wore a white tight dress that went to just above her knees and contrasted with her brown skin, in her head white bunny ears and of course high heels, she never failed to impress and so when we came into the front door all eyes were on her, she was beautiful, a beautiful dork.

High school parties never really appealed to me, blasting music, sweaty teenagers, the smell of weed and alcohol and people making out everywhere just isn't my thing, I'm the kind of person that likes to hang out in a nice bar with just a handful of close friends. Soph was the complete opposite.

"Hey, I'm glad you two came," Sadie said coming out of literally nowhere with a red cup in her hand, she was the party hoster and a very popular cheerleader at our school, she was dressed in a very indecent cop costume.

"How could I miss this amazing party," I said ironically.

She chuckled giving me a light punch in the arm, "silly I'm glad you like it." Poor thing, she was beautiful but ruined the reputation of smart blondes.

Soph had the best time of her life and me? Well, I spent most of the time in the kitchen either eating or pranking people by refilling water bottles with pure vodka, it was funny until I fell for my own trap. It was pretty traumatic.

"What are you doing?" I heard someone whisper next to my ear scaring the shit out of me.

"Oh G-d, you scared me," I said as I turned around with my hand on my chest. "What are you doing here? Never took you as someone that enjoyed these kind of parties."

"I don't," Jenny chuckled as she eyed the mess I have made on the floor after spiting the water I had drunk. "My friends basically forced me to come."

"Same here, couldn't say no with a knife pressed against my neck," I deadpanned making her laugh, only if she knew.

"Fell for a prank?" She asked pointing to the water bottle I was holding.

"Uh, yeah kinda," I said droping it into the trash can. "Don't drink water tonight."

"I won't," she chuckled. "Are you alone?"

"I'm... I was with Soph but she went to the bathroom and disappeared."

"Shouldn't you be looking for her?" She asked raising one of her brows.

"No thank you, going to the bathroom is our code for I'll go for a quickie, I'd hate to bump into that," I said with a disgusted face. "Are you alone too?"

"Yeah, I kinda got lost," she said brushing a little, she's cute, too bad I'm into mommies.

"I'll..."

"There you are," I got interrupted by a girl that appeared behind Jenny pushing her arm and within a second both of them were gone. Rude.

At the end of the night we hung at the kitchen, everyone was wasted apart from me of course because I was going to drive me and drunk Soph to her house, we were playing the stupid bottle game, but instead of the common truth or dare, this was dare or dare. Basically, we spun the bottle and the person it pointed to had to dare another and if someone refuses to do the dare both would have to take a shot of vodka.

Basically everyone was telling people to either kiss someone or do something really stupid like throwing themselves at the pool or licking something nasty on the floor, so far I kissed a girl named Tiana, I think, ate 50 nachos in 1 minute, licked the floor, pretended flour was cocaine to some drunken guys and made them sniff it and pushed a guy into the pool and ran away, they weren't merciful even though they knew I couldn't drink, actually I think they did it on purpose because I couldn't refuse.

At the end of the night, I was completely exhausted and I swear to G-d, to Satan and to the not so virgin Mary that I'm not attending high school parties ever again.

As promised I drove Soph back home safely and basically watched her pass out in her bed, it was around 5 in the morning and I didn't really feel like sleeping so I went for a walk and get some fresh air. It was dark out but the sky was gradually getting a lighter blue, Soph lived in a nice neighbourhood so I was safe walking alone.

It really felt refreshing and the sky was beautiful as the sun started to appear at the horizon, I can't remember the last time I watched the sunrise so I went to a nearby park where I remembered me and Soph would come years ago to meet up at the weekends, I sat at one of the benches and just stared at the sky, it was indeed fascinating to watch, it still didn't convince me to wake up early though.

It was around 6 am by now and people started to appear to run and walk their dogs and I couldn't help but wonder if I was some kind of alien or simply not human, because trust me, I would never ever wake up so early to do that.

Honestly watching all these people exercising made me sleepy so I decided to head back, besides the fact Soph would probably kill me if I were not to be there when she decides to wake up. I was about to get up until a dog came up to me, it was a golden retriever, I know that because it is literally the only dog race I can distinguish besides bulldogs and pugs.

"Hey buddy, are you lost?" I said patting his head noticing that he was dragging his leash.

That's when I saw someone running in my direction, a woman in workout clothes, a beautiful woman might I add.

"Slippers, don't run off like that!" She said when she finally came up closer picking up the leash from the ground.

This wasn't just any woman, it wouldn't be any fun if it wasn't her.

"Did you really call your dog Slippers?" I said smirking as Miss Evans eyes locked with mine finally acknowledging me.
