Chapter 33 - Devotion

"I swear, David Bowie in those tight ass pants get me going," Lindsey whispered loudly. While I was attracted to women, there was no denying that Jareth the Goblin King was very sexy.

"Only cause she's single," Venus teasingly whispered in my ear, and I giggled as I dove deeper into her chest. I sat between her legs and laid on her chest as she laid on the couch, petting from the top of my head to my mid back.

"I feel like this movie would be better if I were on drugs," Lucas commented, and I laughed in agreement.

Venus leaned down to kiss my forehead, and I hummed and snuggled closer to her.

"Why are the two of you being so damn adorable right now?" Lindsey teased.

"Aww, thank you," Venus smirked.

I snuggled into Venus throughout the rest of the movie, and she was always hugging me and either petting my hair and rubbing my back. It were the little touches that felt the most electric. Any time I was in her arms, the comfort she brought made me feel as if we were really dating.

I hadn't asked Venus if we were actually dating. After allowing my feelings to pour out to her through our kiss, I was afraid that I would be slapped out of this dream and be forced to deal with a reality without her.

Once the movie wrapped up, Venus pulled her phone out of her pocket and pouted. "I have to get going."

"Where?" Lindsey asked. "You live with Cameron."

"Yeah, but I have something I need to do." Venus turned to face me and pecked my lips. "I promise I'll see you later tonight, okay?" I nodded, and Venus hugged me tightly before exiting the house.

So you two are finally together, Lucas chuckled.

I don't know. She called me a girlfriend when my bully came up to me, but we haven't actually talked anything out yet, I explained. But now she's acting like she really is my girlfriend, and as nice as it is, I need actual confirmation from her that we are dating.

"Then ask her!" Lindsey and Lucas snapped.

I don't want to, I pouted. I'm too scared of what she'll say.

"Cameron, she loves you," Lindsey stated. "We all know, you're just in denial."

Well can you blame me? Everyone I thought cared about me took their words back and abandoned me the moment I stopped talking. She can say she loves me all she wants and treat me this way all she can, but it's not enough. I need the proof. I need her to say it and mean it and prove it every damn day.

And just then, my phone vibrated in my pocket. Dad texted me with a text that terrified me down to my bones. I stop breathing, staring at the screen in pure horror. Why is Venus in her old house?
