Ok, before we start, again, if you're under 18, please skip over this chapter. Or perhaps you shouldn't be reading this book??? And I need to say, read this chapter AT YOUR OWN RISK (now you can't sue me). And Sage does some bad things. So keep that in mind.

Something was off about Sage today that made Zach uneasy.

Little less than a week ago, when Zach ran to the school buildings looking for Sage, he wanted to explain. There was so much to explain but so little time. Panic overran his senses, comparable to the silence right before a game, but Zach could always handle that, not this. In the end, Sage had not returned even when the bell rang. It was only until Sage sent him a message confirming their date did he let himself relax. "Did I overthink it?" he asked himself. Maybe it hadn't been as huge of a deal as he thought. Sage must've thought he told everyone, sold him like a trophy, or perhaps as a trophy anonymously? Or perhaps Zach was the only one really thinking that.

Now back to the present, everything seems fine. They are in a quiet coffee shop downtown where they know they won't meet their friends. Sage orders an expresso while Zach orders an American.

Zach pushes the thought to the back of his mind and finds things to talk about. For a while, all seems fine. Sage smiles when Zach jokes and their conversation is kept light, but it is the moments in between, that Sage looks at a faraway distance and his expression darkens.

How? Zach can't quite pin it down. Perhaps it is the way Sage's eyes seem to grow darker or his grin that loses ingenuity.

On their way to dinner, Zach finally asks.

"I'm okay," Sage says and smiles again. "What makes you say that?"

Zach feels his heart grow cold. "N-no, it's nothing."

And they enter the restaurant.

--

When they exit, the sky had grown dark. The wind creeps through the branches of trees and the air is dry and damp. The night settles like dust and Zach can't help to pull his jacket closer to his body.

Sage joins him, staring at the muddy skies. He exhales, and breaths curl from his lips like smoke. He glances at Zach. "Do you have plans?"

Zach knows exactly what he means and heat flares up on the back of his neck. He shakes his head.

-

They enter the hotel room. It is a neat room, with a desk on one side and a window overlooking a small area of the city. Sage pulls the curtains shut.

Zach sits on the foot of the bed. His heart thumps wildly even though this won't be their first time. He feels the heat rising and turns to face Sage.

But he is pushed back onto the bed before he can react. "Sage—"

First a kiss. Passionate and makes Zach's fingers curl against the white sheets. Then it travels down Zach's neck, making him moan.

"Seriously Sage, I think I should go take a shower first."

Then Zach's wrists are pinned above him and he sees Sage's blank, hurtful face and Zach knows--

They are still.

Then a flurry of struggling as Zach is stripped and wrists tied, facing the pillows.

"Stop, you're scaring me." It comes out like a whimper.

"Why? You didn't say that when we fucked the first time," Sage says as his hand travel down to Zach's waist. Zach shudders in pleasure against his will. His fingers enter, exploring but unpassionate. Zach's vision begins to blur and his strength abandons him.

His eyes widen as he hears a camera click and sees Sage holding his phone, expressionless.

Anxiety sieges Zach. "Stop stop stop."

But Sage does not stop and touches Zach in all the right places until Zach feels like he's at his limit. Then something warm presses against Zach's entrance. Zach yelps as Sage pushes into him. There is nothing pleasant except pain but then the pleasure comes and then the distress and then—

Tears wet the sheets beneath Zach, his chest shaking, his breaths irregular and sharp. His eyes are shut tight. "Please...Sage."

A moment of silence.

Zach feels his wrist loosen and then Sage pulling away, leaving him cold, yet relived.

"I c-can't do this to you."

Zach sits up slowly and wipes his face. He finds Sage retreating to the edge of the bed.

Sage looks at his hands as if he can't comprehend what he has done and can never undo. "I-I'm sorry..." His hugs himself as he begins to tremble and cave in.

"Please don't leave me alone."
