Lorelai stepped out of Luke's truck, holding the twins tightly to her. Luke came round, taking William off her.

"Hey, boys. This is your home. Well, if your big sister ever moves out," Lorelai smiled.

It was a week after Lorelai had had the twins, and she had finally brought them home. They began walking up to the house, when Rory came running out.

"Rory? We didn't know you were going to be here," Luke said when she reached them.

"Well, why not?" Rory grinned, glancing back at the house.

"What's going on?" Lorelai asked, narrowing her eyes.

"What's going on? Nothing? What's going on with you?" Rory said, quickly.

"I'm going into my house now," Lorelai said, trying to step around her.

"NO!"

"What? What do you mean no?" Lorelai asked.

"You can't go in there. Jess and Liv are in there. Don't wanna disturb them," Rory chuckled nervously, glancing back.

"Rory, babe, I taught you a lot, but my lying lesson obviously didn't sink in very well," Lorelai's sighed, walking up the path. She walked into the house, to find Liv and Jess carrying a cot upstairs. When she walked in, they froze.

"What's going on?" Lorelai asked, just as Richard began to cry.

"We're making a jail?" Rory suggested, shrugging.

"Hey, guys! I got the other one in...hi Lorelai. Luke," Logan appeared at the top of the stairs.

Lorelai looked at Liv, raising her eyebrows, "we're making a nursery for the twins. You're moving back in."

"What?" Luke asked, "I hope you didn't break those, they took ages to...hang on, you four carried two cots down the stairs to the apartment and all the way through town?"

"Yep," Jess smirked, "this is the part where you thank us, and we smile and tell you you're very welcome and it's the least we can do."

"T—thank you," Lorelai stuttered, smiling.

"You're very welcome and it's the least we can do," Liv smiled back, "now please stop speaking to us so we can get it finished."

Lorelai smiled, before sitting down on the sofa, placing Richard, now asleep, in her lap. Luke sat by her, wrapping one arm around her shoulders while holding William with the other. They sat, smiling, in silence. Until they heard Liv shout, "Jess, you son of a bitch, that's my foot! Why did I marry you? Jesus, it's gonna have to come off or something now!"

"Wait, where even is this nursery?" Lorelai asked, turning to face Luke slightly.

"Good question. I'll go and check," he said, placing William with Lorelai. He walked up the stairs, and looked at the wall, which now had two doors in it. He walked through the new one, to find Liv scowling at Jess and clutching her foot, and Logan lay on the floor looking under one of the cots.

"This is a new room," Luke said, making everyone look at him.

"We asked Tom last week to partition your and Lorelai's room and add an extra door here," Logan said, muffled, from under the cot.

"He's in his zone," Rory told Luke, who nodded.

"You ok, Livvy?" He asked her.

"Nope, thanks to this moron."

"I said I'm sorry!" Jess defended himself.

"Right, let's stop before Livvy files for a divorce," Luke tried to joke, earning a glare from Jess, "anyway, erm, this looks amazing. Thank you, for doing this for us. It looks perfect."

He smiled, slightly awkward, and walked out and began to go down the stairs. Jess leaned out of the door, and cleared his throat, "don't let Lorelai come up until it's done. Please? Or I think Livvy will actually kill me."

"Sure," he said, reaching the bottom.

Jess looked back over at his wife, who was still glaring at him, "I'm sorry and I love you and you can have as much coffee as you want and you can wear my tshirts and I don't know what else to say except I love you."

"I guess I can forgive you," she pouted, "go get me a coffee, yeah?"

"Yes, ma'am," he mock saluted, walking out.

"Hey, drama queen, get a paintbrush and give that wall another coat," Rory said, throwing a brush at her.

"Yes, ma'am," she copied her husband, but saluting with the brush instead.

Three hours and four nappies later, the four walked downstairs, covered in paint, and sat on the floor.

"We're done," Liv announced.

"Really?" Lorelai grinned.

"Yep. You two should take the twins up. Go and look," Rory suggested, leaning her head on Logan's shoulder.

Lorelai got up, holding Richard and walking up to see it. She took a deep breath before walking in, and her hand shook as she opened the door. She felt her jaw dropping as she looked around the room. The walls were light blue, one with 'Richard' on and the other with 'William'. Two cots were in each corner, with a set of drawers by each one. A basket of toys was next to one, and a play pen was in the middle of the room.

She felt Luke stand next to her, and looked at him to see him smiling.

"They did good," he commented.

"Yeah, they did. We should put them to bed while they're finally asleep," Lorelai said, laying Richard down.

When they got back down, Lorelai hugged them all, "it's great. Thank you."

"Where are you two gonna stay tonight?" Luke asked Liv and Jess.

"We thought we'd go back to the flat in New York. Mom gave me the weekend off because I've worked 12 hours every day for the past three days, and we haven't been there in a very long time," Liv shrugged, "we'll be back Monday, though, so I can get to work on Tuesday."

"Could we stay in the flat above the diner? When we come back," Jess asked.

"Of course," Luke nodded, "stay there whenever you need."

"We're gonna head back to New York too," Logan said, "some of us don't get weekends off," he smirked at his sister in law, who stuck her tongue out at him.

"And we have an appointment in the morning," Rory added.

"An appointment?" Liv asked.

Rory looked at Logan, "at a fertility clinic."

"What?" Lorelai asked, worried, "is everything ok?"

Rory took a deep breath and reached for her husband, "we're having...we're having trouble getting pregnant. We had some tests a week ago and we're having the results tomorrow."

"Oh, Ror," Liv sighed, "you call me as soon as your out, ok?"

"Ok," Rory smiled, "it'll probably be nothing, you know? But we need to know."

"Why don't you come to ours after?" Jess suggested.

"Are you sure?" Logan asked.

"Yeah, just come over," Jess smiled.

"Sounds good. But I swear, if you two are on the sofa again when we get there..." Rory grimaced at the memory.

"Who knows. Maybe we'll be on the oven this time," Liv laughed.

Rory and Logan walked out of the clinic, dazed and holding onto each other's hand as tight as the could. Rory's eyes were cast down, blinking back tears.

"Ace..." Logan said.

She looked up at him, and he wrapped his arms around her as she sobbed into his jacket.

They couldn't naturally have a baby.

Hey peeps! So that was sad, but I feel like I'm kind of neglecting Rory's character and wanted to do something different. I'll try and update ASAP xoxo
