Lorelai sat at the kitchen table, having been woken up by Luke's alarm, sipping a cup of coffee and flicking through a magazine. At about 8, Liv dragged herself out of her room, made a cup of coffee for herself and sat by her mom.

"Morning babe. You feeling better?" She asked.

"How can I be? I made the worst decision of my life!" Liv croaked, hanging her head in her hands, "what should I do mom?"

"Tell him. You know what keeping secrets does, you saw Rory and Logan," Lorelai said.

"They're back together now mom...they're happy! Maybe, maybe that could happen to us too?" Liv suggested, perking up slightly.

"Oh, honey, Jess isn't like Logan, or Rory. He wouldn't want you to keep this from him," Lorelai smiled, sadly. She knew that Jess wouldn't forgive her that easily, either, no matter how much he loved her. Poor kid.

"I don't wanna go back today," Liv sighed, "I can't."

"Ok. Tomorrow then. Today, we watch films. We eat ice cream and mock Tom Cruises acting and laugh at Adam Sandlers jokes. Tomorrow, you tell him. And if it goes well, good. But if it doesn't...you have me. You can stay here, or if you want to get out of town I'm sure your grandparents or Christopher will gladly let you stay with them," Lorelai smiled at her.

"Thank you mom. I think we should start with The Wedding Singer, myself," Liv suggested.

"So we shall!" Lorelai cried, getting to her feet.

"God, you're so over the top," Liv laughed.

"Oh, my dear daughter, fruit of my loins, sweet child of mine,  my sweet child, troubled child, and...I'm out," Lorelai rambled, walking to the living room.

"Whatever, mom," Liv laughed. It was an empty laugh.

That night, after watching 7 films, there was a knock at the door. Liv has fallen asleep on Lorelai, so she called for them to come in. Jess walked into the house, with food in one hand and two cups of coffee in the other.

"I brought some food from Luke's from, well, Luke," he said, quietly, looking at his fiancée and smiling.

Lorelai's heart broke for him.

"She's shattered. Whatever she's got has really taken it out on her," Lorelai smiled, her stomach churning at having to lie to him.

"Yeah, I'll leave this here for you both," he set the food down, and gently kissed Liv on the head.

"I'll keep her here again tonight, she'll be back tomorrow in the morning," Lorelai told him.

"If you're sure. Get her to call me when she wakes up?" Jess asked.

"Obviously," Lorelai smiled at him, "Bye Jess." He waved and walked out, "Oh Liv," she sighed, stroking her daughters head. The phone then rang, and Lorelai picked it up quickly to stop it from waking up Liv, "Hello?"

"Hey mom! Are you ok?" Rory asked.

"I'm fine, Liv's still not too good," Lorelai told her.

"Yeah, Jess said she was ill. What's up with her?" Rory asked.

"Just not feeling good," Lorelai touched her forehead.

"Me and Logan are on our way back now. I'm sorry we didn't stop to say bye."

"It's fine. And Tristin?" Lorelai asked her hesitantly.

"He's staying at the inn until he finds a place. Michel sorted it out today," Rory explained.

"Right," Lorelai sighed.

"Well, you should get to Liv. Tell her I love her," Rory finished.

"Bye Ror," Lorelai sighed, "love you babe."

"Love you too mom," she hung up.

Lorelai gently shook Liv, "Liv honey, wake up."

"Mmfff," Liv mumbled, "I smell food."

"Food from Luke's. Come on, it'll go cold," Lorelai said as Liv sat up.

"Jess brought this didn't he?" Liv froze.

"Well...yes, but it was from Luke," Lorelai said, "Wait how did you know?"

"I smell his cologne," Liv said, quietly, grabbing a burger.

The following morning, Liv was up and showered and dressed and looking reasonably human. She was coffeed and muffined and terrified.

Taking a deep breath, she said goodbye to her mom and made her way toward the diner. Walking in, she froze in the doorway.

Tristin was there.

With Jess.

Laughing.

"Hey! Liv I've missed you!" Jess grinned, walking to her and kissing her.

"I missed you too," Liv said, frowning.

"What's up?" Jess said, noticing her lack of enthusiasm.

"I need to talk to you in private. Now," Liv sighed, trembling.

"Ok," he said, confused, leading her up the stairs.

When they got up, Jess sat on the sofa, and Liv strode back and forth for a while minute.

"When we got back to the diner," Liv started, "And I went out to speak to Tristin, he...he kissed me."

Jess sat in silence.

"I pushed him off, I swear. I told him I didn't wanna be with him because I love you," Liv said quickly.

"Did you kiss him back?" Jess asked.

"Not at first. Then...Jess I pushed him away as soon as I realised what was happening," Liv sat next to him, grabbing his hand.

"You cheated on me."

"Jess, I—"

"No Liv!" He shouted, jumping away from her, "for a month, you criticised Logan for cheating, and you go and do the same and expect me to forgive you!"

"I'm not saying..."

"Let me talk! You were the only stable thing in my life! It was always you and me, you made me me! You reject my proposal, we don't talk for over a week. I was a mess during that week. And now you go and do something like this...I can't believe it. With your ex boyfriend-" Jess stopped and walked out.

"Wait Jess!" Liv cried, running after him.

Jess ran down the stairs and grabbed Logan by the front of his shirt. He dragged him out of the diner and pushed him to the ground.

"She told you then," Tristin said, standing up.

He was soon on the ground again after Jess punched him in the jaw, splitting his lip. As Jess was about to turn back to the diner, Tristin scrambled to his feet and charged at Jess, grabbing him and tackling him to the ground.

"Jess! Tristin, stop it," Liv shouted.

They scrambled on the floor until Luke arrived, grabbing Jess up and away from Tristin. Jess' nose was bleeding, his eye and cheek bound to be bruised at some point in the next few days.

"You need to calm down," Tristin panted, wiping the blood from his mouth.

"And you need to stop going round kissing other guys fiancées," Jess spat, walking away from the diner.

"Jess," Liv called, running after him.

"Leave me alone," he mumbled.

"Please," she begged.

"Liv, leave me alone! I don't want to talk to you right now!" Jess yelled.

Liv stopped, watching him walk away from her, feeling her heart sink to her stomach and shatter into a million pieces.

"Honey," she heard her moms voice behind her.

"Where is he? Where's Tristin?" She asked.

"At the diner. Jess busted his lip, he's got some ice on it now," Lorelai told her, softly.

Liv marches past her, back towards the diner. Tristin was sat where he was before, holding an ice pack to his lip. Luke was stood behind him, throwing him the occasional dirty look. As Liv walked into the diner, Tristin stood up, placing the ice pack down.

"Liv, I —" he was cut off, as Liv slapped him round the face.

"You've ruined everything for me! I was happy, and then you come and make me cheat on my fiancé who I love more than anyone - except maybe my mom and Peter Petrelli - henceforth ruining my life. I don't know whether he's gonna forgive me, and if he doesn't that's on you," Liv spat.

"Liv that's not fair," Tristin said, weakly.

"I think you should get out," Luke said.

"Whatever," Tristin shook his head, walking out.

Liv looked up at Luke, not knowing what to expect, "please don't hate me."

"I don't hate you Liv, it was him. And yeah, you may have kissed him back but you stopped it and I can see how torn up you are," Luke shrugged.

"Thanks Luke," Liv smiled.

"Come here," he smiled back, hugging her.

Liv felt Luke tense as someone behind her cleared their throat. She turned, looking who it is.

"Dad?" Liv spluttered.

"Hey, Ol," Christopher smiled.
