Liv walked out of the living room holding Ava, into her sister's kitchen.

Rory was leaning against the sink, washing a plate.

"Hey, Aunty Rory," Liv said in a higher voice, bouncing Ava slightly.

Rory grinned and walked to her sister, kissing Ava, and looking up at her sister, "what do you think then?"

"She's great," Liv nodded, "Have you had her file yet?"

"They emailed it through ten minutes ago," Rory nodded.

"Have you read it?"

Rory shook her head, "I think me and Logan will read it tonight."

"What if something bad has happened to her, Ror?" Liv said.

"That's what I'm scared of," Rory shrugged a little.

They walked back into the front room, and Ava began crying. Jess gestured for Liv to pass her to him, and he grabbed a bottle out of their bag.

"Jess, man, we have milk here you could have used," Logan said, confused but amused.

"Not this milk," Jess laughed.

"Oh, do you use condensed milk or something then?" He asked, obliviously.

The other three began laughing, and Alex looked at Logan in disbelief.

"Dude, it's not condensed milk," Jess said.

"Ok, what's funny?" Logan asked, purely confused.

"It's breast milk," Alex smirked, putting him out of his misery.

"Oh," Logan exclaimed, "of course it is."

"Yeah, just let us know if you have any of that lying around before we come next time," Liv winked.

"Alright, shut up," Logan grumbled, "I thought everyone used formula nowadays."

Jess shrugged, "I guess that makes us old fashioned then."

"We'd better get going now. Ava's gotta go to sleep soon," Liv said, standing up. She hugged Rory, thanking her and then Logan. She then turned to Alex, smiling at her before pulling her in for a light hug, "welcome to the family," she winked.

Alex looked down, a little awkward, but smiled back to her slightly.

They got into the car and Jess started driving, Liv began rummaging through the CD cases before they began driving.

"Green Day?" Liv asked.

Ava made a noise in the back seat, sort of between a squeal and a gurgle.

Jess and Liv laughed, "the baby has spoken," Jess shrugged.

"Good baby," Liv grinned, putting the CD on.

Rory closed the door as they drove off, and turned to Alex, "it's late so you can go to bed if you want?"

"Sure," Alex shrugged.

"Look, we want to make you feel comfortable, so I just wanted to say that this is your home now," Rory said.

"Ok," Alex nodded, before walking upstairs.

Rory sighed, before walking into the living room where Logan was sat at the computer.

"You ready?" He asked her, clicking on Alex' file.

"I don't know," Rory confessed.

Their faces fell at what they read.

Hayley and Tristin lay in bed, trying to sleep.

"You awake?" Hayley whispered.

"Yeah," Tristin said.

"I'm scared for tomorrow," Hayley swallowed.

"It's your first lot of chemotherapy. You're allowed to be scared. But I'll be right there with you the entire time," he said softly, kissing the top of her head.

"I know. I appreciate it so much," Hayley sniffed.

"I know you do. I love you, Hayles. No matter what," Tristin reassured her.

"Yeah," she nodded, "I love you too."

"Poor thing," Rory said, dazed.

"How could anyone do that?" Logan agreed.

"Logan, what are we gonna do?" Rory asked, sounding defeated.

"Help her. Make her life better," Logan said.

"How are we gonna do that? Have you ever helped an abuse victim. A child abuse victim? Because I sure as hell haven't!"

"Keep your voice down," Logan hushed her, "and no, I haven't. But we can't give up on her ow treat her any differently than we have been, okay?" Logan said.

"Okay," Rory nodded, "let's just go to bed, yeah?"

"Sure, come on," Logan nodded.

The next morning, Logan dropped Alex off at her new school and headed to work. He arrived, before receiving a call, from said school, asking him to come and pick her up.

"But I dropped her off a half hour ago," Logan said, confused.

"And in that hour there has been an incident, Mr Huntzberger," the receptionist said.

"Fine. Give me ten minutes," Logan sighed.

He arrived at the school, to find a put out looking Alex, and the headmistress looking, well, peeved.

"What's going on?" Logan asked.

"Well, Alex here decided it would be a good idea to give another student a black eye," the headmistress explained.

"I told you, he came up to me and started asking me questions, and was teasing me about being fostered," Alex snapped.

"Mr Johnson is a nice boy, who has no reason to be doing this. There were also no witnesses to back you up so..." she explained.

"So you're gonna believe Golden Child over there?" She gestured through the window, and Logan whistled when he saw his eye.

"You did that?" Logan asked, clearly impressed.

"Mr Huntzberger, you should not be encouraging this behaviour," the headmistress frowned.

"Well, ma'am, it seems to be that you are being unfair. I understand she shouldn't have punched him, but you're not taking her situation into account, however I'm not making excuses. I'll take her home, and she can try again tomorrow. Come on," Logan stood up, and so did Alex. He went to put his hand gently on her shoulder, but saw she tensed up so took it away.

Once they were in the car, Logan turned to her and smiled, "Are you ok?"

She nodded a little.

"Look, me and Rory read your file last night. We know what you went through with your father and your abuse and I want you to know we aren't going to hurt you," he said.

Alex nodded, looking out of the window.

Liv walked into the Dragonfly Inn, hugging Sookie as she went to get a coffee, "you're back!" Sookie smiled.

"Yeah, it's Jess' turn to be the stay at home mom until we decide to find a nursery," Liv shrugged.

"It hadn't been the same without you," Sookie smiled,

"I've missed it here," Liv sighed.

"Liv, I forgot you were coming back today. In fact, I forgot you worked here at all," Michel drawled in his thick accent.

"Aw, Michel, admit that you missed me, my darling," she mocked in a falsetto French accent.

"That would be lying," he said.

"A little white lie never hurt anyone, Michel," Liv shrugged.

"Ah, well where's the fun in that?" He smiled sarcastically, before walking out of the kitchen.

"He loves me," Liv winked at Sookie.

He poked his head around the door, "Olivia, you have customers. And I do not."

"Coming, my love," Liv called as he walked off.

She walked to the reception area and gaped at the person stood before her.

"Jimmy?" She said.

"Olivia, right? I want a room," Jimmy Mariano said, awkwardly.

"No," she stuttered.

"What?" Jimmy and Michel both said.

"No, you can't have a room. Do you not remember your last escapade to Stars Hollow?" Liv laughed in disbelief.

"How could I forget it? But I want to make amends," Jimmy confessed.

"Olivia, you are not turning away a paying customer," Michel demanded.

"One night, that's all," Liv pursed her lips, walking to the counter, "a single bedroom?"

"Double actually," Jimmy corrected her.

"We only give doubles to two people," Liv rolled her eyes.

"There are two of us," Jimmy said.

The door opened and Liv saw the back of a blonde woman as she walked backwards to open the door while her hands were full of bags.

"Who have you dragged off the streets this time?" Liv snorted.

"Olivia, that's no way to talk about me!" The woman said, turning around.

Liv's mouth dropped further than she though was possible as the woman walked to the counter and dropped her bags down to grab Jimmy's hand.

Michel leaned into Liv, "that's why he wants a double room."

Hayley sat in the waiting room, clutching Tristin's hand and tapping her foot rhythmically on the while tiled floor.

"Babe, it'll be fine," Tristin tried to tell her.

"Whatever," she replied, distantly.

"They know what they're doing," He retried.

"Why else would they be allowed to administer chemotherapy? We're in a hospital, Tris, not some makeshift lab in a dark alley," Hayley snapped.

Tristin sighed, "I'm here."

"That's who keeps wittering on in my ear then," Hayley muttered. Tristin looked down, hurt slightly. She sighed, "I'm sorry. I'm just crapping myself right now, I'm so scared."

"I know. Taking it out on me won't help, though," Tristin told her.

"I know it won't. Thank you for coming," she smiled.

"Anytime," he kissed their intertwined hands.

"Hayley?" The nurse called.

Hayley glanced at Tristin, "here we go."

I'm gonna start with the usual apology. I'm sorry for the long wait! But this is the 50th chapter and I honestly can't believe it. Thank you so much for actually reading it and (hopefully) enjoying it. I hope this was a decent 50th! Love you all for the views and comments and votes xoxoxo
