Olivia Mariano was sat in the airport in Rome, waiting for her flight to be called. The flight had been delayed for 3 hours, and as her head rested on her husbands shoulder, she stared at the screen, wanting to get back home.

Her skin was tanned from her month in Italy, her month of sunbathing, sightseeing, drinking and...other stuff all with her husband.

"Thank you," She said.

"What for?"

"Everything. This has been the best month of my life," she smiled up at him.

"Good."

Just then, her phone began to ring. Luke.

"Livvy, you need to get back. Now," his voice came through as she picked up.

"Woah, Luke, I know you missed me, but not that much!" She joked.

"No, Livvy, your mom! She's in labor!" He almost shouted.

"What? She's a month early!" She exclaimed, jumping out of Jess' arms.

"I know that, but obviously the twins don't!" He shouted back, "I'm sorry, Livvy, I'm panicking."

"Really? I had no idea," she rolled her eyes, "Luke our flight is delayed; it has been for the past three hours. We won't get back until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest."

"Tomorrow afternoon?"

"I want to be there Luke, I didn't decide to delay the frigging flight!" She shouted, "I'm sorry, but Rory's there, right? And grandma and grandpa?"

"Yes, they're all here. But we should have you here too," he sighed.

"I know, Luke. Trust me I want to be there with you both. Give me a second and I'll go and see if they have any other flights leaving sooner with spare seats. I'll call you back after," she said, hanging up. She shoved her phone in her back pocket, and marched to the desk, "I need to go home."

"I'm sorry, Miss, but the flight is delayed. You will have to wait."

"Babe, what's up?" Jess said from next to her.

"I need a flight home now!" She shouted, making several people look at her, "I'm sorry, I need a...I need a flight, ok? I need one right now. Right now, yeah? Please?"

"Babe, what's happened?"

"I apologise, we're doing all we—" the receptionist began.

"It's not enough! Look, my mom is in labor with my twin brothers, or twin sisters, or twin one of each, I don't know yet and I won't know until I get a flight and get home. But it's important because she's my mom, and she needs me and my sister to be there, not just my sister because we are both her daughters so..." Liv rambled, "so please. I'm begging you."

"Lorelai's in labor?"

"Miss, I'm really sorry, but we're doing all we can," the receptionist said.

"But...my mom...I-I have to be there for her...she needs me," she stuttered, fighting back tears.

"I'm sorry."

"Huh," she said, going back to her seat, putting her elbows on her knees and her head in her hands, "I need to be there Jess. I...I need to be with her..."

"I know, baby. I know. Give me a second," he said, walking back to the desk.

The receptionist looked back up, "I'm sorry, sir, we are really trying to get this delay sorted."

"Do you have no other flights at all? Not with another air line? It's just...my wife is really close to her mom. Like super close. This is so important to both of them," he explained.

"The one you're waiting for is the only one. I'm very sorry."

"Ok. Ok."

He walked back to where his wife was fighting off tears, trying to figure out how to tell her stepdad that she wouldn't make it.

"I can tell him if you want," Jess said. She nodded. Luke picked up after three rings, "hey uncle Luke."

"Jess, please tell me you have a flight." Silence, "Oh no. No no no. Lorelai needs both of her girls."

"I'm sorry Uncle Luke. I tried, I really did. We both did," Jess told him.

"Ok. We'll keep you both posted," Luke said, frustrated.

"Thanks. And congratulations."

"Thanks."

Jess put his phone away and walked back to his wife, who was staring off into space. He sat next to her and pulled her into him, rubbing her back soothingly.

At Hartford General, Lorelai's contractions were getting closer. Every time she got one, she came up with a new string of curses; she'd made up at least five of them. Luke walked back in, and she looked at him hopefully. He shook his head and she looked down.

"They're trying. They're trying," he told her.

"I know. I just wish both of my girls were here with me," she sighed, grabbing Rory's hand just before another contraction.

3 hours later

"All passengers on flight 305 to New York, boarding at Gate 4," the voice came through.

Liv jumped up, and dragged Jess with her, getting to the gate quickly. They were about half way through the queue; Liv was not pleased.

It felt like forever for them to board, but they both felt relieved when they got on. Liv was still staring at her phone just before take off, and when the flight attendant made her way towards them to ask her to turn it off, Jess shook his head at her, "her mom is in labor," he explained.

She nodded and walked away.

"Thanks for that, otherwise I think I would've slapped her," Liv muttered.

"I know baby. I know."

They sat, ready for the 9 hour journey. They knew they wouldn't make it, but hoped anyway.

—————————

"Congratulations, Lorelai. You have two healthy baby boys," the nurse smiled, handing them to her.

Lorelai smiled at them, "hey there William and Richard."

"They're beautiful, mom," Rory smiled.

"They're perfect," Luke said, wiping his eyes. When Rory smiled up at him, he cleared his throat, "allergies."

"You're allowed to cry Luke," Rory laughed, standing up, "I'll give you two a minute. Do you want me to call Liv?"

"Yes please, sweets," Lorelai muttered.

Rory walked out, glancing at her mom and stepdad before she left. She went to the vending machine first, grabbing some chocolate, before calling her twin, "hey Liv."

"Rory? What's happened?"

"They're here," Rory smiled, "William and Richard are here."

"We have two brothers?" Liv gasped, before bursting into laughter.

"Liv are you ok?"

"I'm hysterical. I haven't slept for 15 hours. But I just realised that those names have ridiculous nicknames that I most certainly will be using," she giggled.

"Liv, you're delusional. I will send Jess pictures if you promise to sleep," Rory told her.

"Yes mom," Liv smirked.

"Go to sleep," Rory said, hanging up.

On the plane, Liv snuggled into Jess, smiling, "you do realise that the twins are both my cousin and brothers in law?"

"Yes I do realise that Will and Dick are both your cousins and brothers in law."

"Go to sleep, crazy."

The second the plane landed, the couple practically sprinted off the plane, collected their luggage and ran to the place Logan had agreed to pick them up, "drive, rich boy!" Liv had shouted when they got in.

And he drove.

When they arrived at the hospital, Logan took them to the room, but as Liv opened the door, she collided with Luke, and ended up falling flat on her bum, "Luke!"

"Livvy! I'm sorry, I needed a coffee."

"Moms got you running around after her still?" Liv chuckled, standing back up.

"It's for me."

"You?" Luke nodded, "you know we are talking about the stuff that shortens your life?" A nod, "the stuff that rots your insides?" A nod, "the stuff—"

"Yes that stuff!" Luke interrupted, "go and meet your brothers, please!" He said, walking to the cafeteria.

Liv looked at her mom who was on the bed, holding the babies in her arms.

"Hey mom," she said.

"Hey Liv," Lorelai grinned as she walked towards her.

"Mom they're perfect. Look, he has Luke's scowl," Liv pointed out.

"Yes Richard does have Luke's scowl," Lorelai chuckled.

"So the one with your smile must be William?"

"Ironic, right? You wanna hold?" Lorelai asked.

"Of course," Liv grinned.

When they were settled in her arms, Liv looked up at her mom, "I wanted to be here, honestly."

"I know. How was Rome?"

"Amazing. It was so beautiful, I have so many pictures," Liv told her.

"You're tan looks amazing. I'm just saying," Lorelai said.

A small knock came from the door, "mind if I come in?" Jess asked.

"What's the password?" Lorelai asked.

"Huh?"

"What's the password?" She repeated.

"Coffee coffee coffee?" Jess shrugged.

"Oy with the poodles already?" Liv smirked.

"Jess is a douche?" Jess smirked back.

"Jess is a douche," Liv agreed.

"Wow Jess, who knew you were so modest. And no, it's none of them. The password was password because I'm too tired to think of anything witty," Lorelai said, snuggling into the hospital bed.

"Come and see them, Jess. They're perfect," Liv smiled at him.

"He has Luke's scowl," Jess pointed out.

"That's what I said! This is Richard, do you want to hold him?" Jess looked at her like she was mad, "of course you do."

Jess began to protest, while Lorelai took Richard from Liv, and handed him to him. Jess soon relaxed, and sat by his wife, holding his cousin/brother in law tight.

"You don't know how perfect this looks," Lorelai commented.

Liv felt herself heat up at the thought of them having kids and Jess cleared his throat awkwardly, "not yet mom," Liv chuckled, weakly.

Just then, Richard and Emily arrived at the door, "Lorelai?"

"Mom! Dad! You're here?" Lorelai gasped.

"I wanted to meet my namesake," Richard smiled.

"And I wanted to meet both of our grandchildren," Emily said, looking at Richard Sr.

"I have Richard, Grandpa," Liv smiled.

"Why don't me and Liv go and find the cafeteria and Jess go and look for Luke while you two get...acquainted?" Lorelai suggested.

"Are you sure?" Emily looked up, as Jess handed William to her.

"Yeah," Lorelai smiled, "Come on kids."

When they were alone, Lorelai nudged her daughter, "what was that about?"

"What was what about?"

"All of that awkwardness around you and Jess and children?" Lorelai asked.

"We had another argument about it in Rome. I'm just not ready for kids yet mom!"

Liv was sat at the dressing table in their room, brushing her hair, when her husband came up behind her, kissing her neck.

"Jess, we're going out in a minute and there's only so much makeup I can use," she joked.

"I want kids," he mumbled.

"Huh?"

"I want kids," he said a bit louder.

"What brought this back on?" Liv asked, freezing.

"I don't know. I was just thinking about it, and I want them," Jess said, straightening up.

"Jess—"

"No, babe, can't you imagine it? A boy and a girl, the boy older, and we're all here, on holiday. And we're on the beach, or we're shopping or anything, but it's perfect because we're a family," he smiled.

"Jess—we just got married," Liv said.

"So did Lorelai and Luke," Jess pointed out.

"They're grown adults with stable jobs and have been married for 9 months already!" She cried.

"We've been a couple longer," Jess shrugged.

"And you've left three times and I've cheated!" She shouted, "I'm sorry. Look, can't we just enjoy being married for now?" She almost begged.

"So you don't want kids?" Jess asked.

"I want them just...just not yet," Liv sighed.

"Ok," Jess said, "if that's what you want."

"It is what I want," Liv said, looking down.

—————————————————

"Oh, honey," Lorelai sighed.

"I feel terrible mom. He wants it so bad and he's being sweet about it, and here's me, straight out saying no," Liv said.

"Jess will wait, you know that," Lorelai said.

"I know. I hope so," Liv mumbled, linking her arm through her mom's and walking to where Rory was stood.

How is half term nearly over? The thought of school on Monday makes me wanna cry. And the thought of the three pieces of homework and German mock exam I still need to do aren't helping! Stress stress stress! Xoxo
