Sipping her coffee, Liv opened the door to the small apartment Jess and her shared. They brought it a few months back, when she moved to New York to be with him.

It had two bedrooms, one being theirs and the other being a spare in case Lorelai and Luke or Rory and Logan wanted to visit.

It was small, but it was home.

Jess was sprawled out on the sofa, flicking through the channels aimlessly.

"Hey Liv," he smiled, flicking the TV off, "how was it?"

"Alright as far as first days go," Liv had just started her new job teaching in the school down the road.

"That bad, huh?" He smirked.

"Why did I ever think teaching children was a good idea?" She exclaimed, exasperated, sitting down next to him.

"Maybe tomorrow will be better?" He suggested, rubbing her back soothingly.

"I doubt it. A kid actually kicked me. You don't understand how hard it was not to swear at him!" Liv explained, making him laugh.

"Please don't swear at any kids. I've got a feeling that might get you fired," he teased.

"You think? This was a bad, bad idea!"

"Look, it was your first day. And you've got one more day and then it's the weekend and you get two days off. It'll get better, I promise," Jess tried to reassure her.

"I guess," Liv sighed, "but next time a kid kicks me I will not stop myself from telling him where to stick his foot."

"That's my girl," he chuckled, "Olivia Gilmore, charming kids since 2007. That's going on your gravestone."

Friday went by without any annoying children beating Liv up, so it was an alright day. Until Friday night dinner. Richard and Emily didn't pay for Chilton or Yale or Harvard anymore, but they still went every Friday night (mainly for the entertainment).

Jess and Liv were staying at the Gilmore's for the weekend, as the anniversary party was on Saturday night, as were Rory and Logan.

After unpacking, Jess and Liv sat on the couch with Emily, while telling her about Jess' business. She was amazed at what he had done for himself ; he wasn't her favourite person after when they first met, but they got along now - thank God.

Seven o'clock and Rory still wasn't there. They went to eat, anyway and after the starter, they turned up.

"Logan! How wonderful to see you again!" Emily smiled as he sauntered in.

"Yes, delightful," Liv agreed, her tone dripping with sarcasm. Logan and Liv did not get on, and they didn't exactly try to hide it.

"Emily, Richard, sorry we're late. Car trouble. And you too, Gilmore," he retorted, sitting opposite Liv.

"Behave, both of you," Rory insisted, sitting next to him. Liv pulled a face at her sister and she scowled at back.

Rory and I look similar, both having brown hair and the same nose, but Liv got my dad's eyes.

"Yes Olivia behave," Jess told his girlfriend with mock seriousness.

"My goodness, you're all acting like children! Elánia, where's the food?" Emily demanded, going to the kitchen.

"I'm afraid you missed the starter, however I'm sure you can have a second helping of the main if you wish," Richard said.

"Thank you, Grandpa," Rory smiled.

Liv glanced at Logan, who was already smirking at her. Confused, Liv glared at him and excused herself to save the maid from Emily's wrath.

A few hours later Liv was sat by the pool, alone, on the phone to Lorelai.

"He's driving me insane, mom! I was in the same room with him for an hour and I couldn't stand to breath the same air as that blond buffoon after!" Liv ranted.

"Honey, I'm not his biggest fan either, but it's just for the weekend," she sighed.

"I know," Liv admitted, "I just can't wait for you and Luke to come and save me!"

"And Paul Anka."

"What?" Liv asked.

"Well I couldn't leave him alone! So he's coming too. But Richard and Emily can't know so I'm gonna have to sneak him into the pool house where me and Luke are staying," she explained,

"I'm not gonna ask," Liv sighed.

"I wouldn't. And it was Luke's idea anyway. I knew he secretly loved him  as much as me," Liv could hear her smile.

"Luke's a big softie, Of course he loves Paul Anka," she giggled.

"I'm gonna go now sweetie. Tell your sister I said hey."

"I will. Bye mom, love you."

"Love you too," she hung up, leaving Liv in the silence.

A while later, Liv was almost asleep, in the same position by the pool when Jess came out.

"You coming in?" He asked. The light from the pool reflected on his face, accenting his features. He looked perfect.

"Yeah babe, I'm coming," Liv hauled herself up, and walked to her room, where she fell asleep in his arms.

Quick note from me! Hope this wasn't too long, it was kind of a gap fill before the party. Next chapter will have Luke and Lorelai in a lot more, and I've got lots of ideas so it might be in two parts. Will update soon xx
