Nightmare opened his eyes.

Someone was staring right back at him with curiousity. Nightmare scrambled to get away from them, but was stopped by their firm grip. Nightmare groans and tries to pull away, but after a while, a melodious laughter filled the air.

"Don't worry darling, I'm not gonna hurt you." They chuckle. "The names Swapdream, you can call me SD, though."

He winks, "I don't really allow anyone else to call me that. You can consider yourself a lucky one."

"The hell are you talking about?" Nightmare considered punching the man there and then.

"Oh and by the way, don't stand up like that." He says, "Your injuries are pretty heavy, you shouldn't be doing those types of things."

Nightmare rolled his eyes, "So what? I can do things by myself." Nightmare attempts to stand but he is hurt with pain on his back, he hisses and lays back down on the bed.

"See? I told you so." He pouts, "Here, how about I support you? Hmm?"

"Fine. Just let go afterwards." Nightmare rolls his eyes again.

SD leans his hand on Nightmare's back as Nightmare attempts to sit up, Nightmare is steady as he sits up with SD's support. Nightmare felt himself blush at the hand behind his back but kept it in the back of his mind.

He's kind of handsome— No no! Don't think like that!

Nightmare mentally slapped himself in the head.

Eventually, Nightmare sits up. SD lightly claps behind him.

"Well done! Well done!" He says joyfully.

"It wasn't that big of a deal." Nightmare sighs.

"Oh Nightmare, at your condition at the moment, you would've been unable to do so, but you actually had enough strength to sit up with the help of me! This is an exciting development." He says.

Huh... was I really injured that bad?

Nightmare sighs, and lays back down on the bed, pulling the blanket over his body. "Shoo now, I need to go sleep."

Nightmare felt embarassed being seen like this but he tried to keep a tought facade without knowing SD saw through it all, SD smiled fondly at Nightmare who slept peacefully.

SD has been watching Nightmare these past few months, and he's always felt this giddy feeling whenever he saw him. The feeling was later discovered as love, he always felt nervous around him unlike others, and he never had the courage to meet him face to face.

Or well, at before he did. Today, he worked the courage to meet Nightmare, only to find him injured by a fight with Dream.

SD touches Nightmare's cheek, it's warm and soft, SD felt his smile go wider.

Oh Nightmare, the things I would do for you... The people I would destroy for you...

You're really special.

SD grins, caressing Nightmare's cheek softly. Nightmare hummed in his sleep, almost as if he was in delight. As he heard the sound, SD found himself feeling ecstatic.
