PLOP.

The ground hit his body fully and a dull ache lingered, his eyes open to see a world that he's never seen before. A tentacle extends itself from its place and carefully positioned him to stand up, he looks around and spots no living being in sight.

His memory was fuzzy. He wasn't sure of what happened that cost him to enter an entirely new AU all together but judging by the dark skies and dull atmosphere, this AU might not be as good as others, or at least wasn't the luckiest.

Nightmare walked around for a while, it was very quiet aside from the soft rustling of some bushes behind him...

WHAAM!

An arrow shot past him, nearly impaling his arm. He turns around quickly to take a look at the arrow, the arrow glowed a royal yellow and already landed on top of grass. The direction of the arrow was... near the bushes.

Quickly extending a tentacle towards it, he was able to capture the skeleton and he hoisted him up on the air. He took a good look at the skeleton and they were familiar. Oh so familiar.

"Dream?" Said person had wings on their back and had different clothing than Dream but he could never forget that face even if he wanted to.

"You— how the hell do you know my name?!" He managed to gasp out with a tentacle still around his neck.

The voice, as well, is different than Dream's in every way. The soft, almost innocent voice compared to a deep and intimidating voice.

This isn't Dream.

'Dream' manages to escape and he quickly grabbed his fallen bow and arrow and aimes it at Nightmare who quickly dodged when the shot finally came.

However, he wasn't prepared for the next one. A burning ache of positivity hit his shoulder and he screamed out in pain, furthermore he got it out and stared at it for a minute before throwing it a way just in time to dodge 'Dream's' next shot.

This positivity... It was too strong, it hurt a lot more than his Dream's arrow. He had to retreat, another round of these arrows and he might be down. Quickly, Nightmare manifested his magic into creating a portal out of this AU, however it was unsuccessful.

What?! Why isn't it working?! Nonetheless, he has to go, with or without a portal. Instead of out of the AU, he went to a different place inside the AU. He was teleported onto a hill and he tumbled down to the very bottom.

Once he hit it, he felt pain everywhere around his body.

"Ugh." He groaned.

...Just what was that?

From another area, a limping DS comes to another skeleton with slightly bigger wings. He slumps himself down a chair and breathed heavily, his bow was tossed to the side. SD stares at him with an eyebrow raised.

"What happened to you?" DS stares at him.

"Someone is there." SD started to become more interested.

"Someone?"

"He— he was sort of like an octopus?? He had tentacles and..." DS breathed out, "He had so much negativity."

"...Then we'll go investigate, do you know where he's at?"

"I don't know... but at the moment, Ink managed to disable portals for the time being."

"Alright then, he's still here. We just have to look hard enough."

Opening his eyes to meet the world, he finds himself at the exact same place he was at earlier. He breathed a heavy sigh and looked around, he was tied up on a piece of wall. But he could still summon his tentacles, good. He extended one out, only to be interrupted by a door opening.

"Well, you're finally awake. It took so long to find you." It was the Dream from before? But he was slightly different, his wings were bigger and his eyes were different too.

"Who the hell are you?" Nightmare spat out.

"Such vulgar language. Well, whatever. You can call me... SD." 'SD' smirks at him before lifting Nightmare's chin, their faces were so close to one another that they could feel each other's breath.

"Let go of me." SD clicked his tongue.

"Only if you answer our questions."

"Fine."

"Now, where are you from?"

"Nowhere." SD rolled his eyes.

"What is your name?"

"Nightmare."

"Nightmare?" SD's eyes widened, and something flashed in his eyes before he pushed the worry and anxiety down.

"How did you... become like this?"

"Ate an apple. Several, actually." SD's brain went haywire at that information.

It... couldn't be.

"You— You didn't eat the negative apples, did you?" He stuttered out.

"I did." Nightmare grinned.

"No-!" SD shouted, the horror finally crashed onto his mind in full fury and he couldn't deny the truth any longer.

As SD had his crisis, Nightmare seemed to piece things together as well. The wings, the eyes, they explain everything fully.

"You-"

"You ate the apples too?"

After the intial shock, Nightmare explained everything to SD and DS who finally fully understood the situation and DS ordered Ink to make portals work again. Soon after, DS gave Nightmare a place to stay for a while.

<<A Day After>>

Nightmare met with DS's brother and his friends, they were as well intially shocked but managed to get used to it. However, they annoyed Nightmare to no end.

<<A Week After>>

DS and SD visited Nightmare sometimes and stayed inside his house. They talked about nonsense and had a little bit of fun.

<<Another Week After>>

Ink says that he's almost finished fixing it.

SD, DS, and Nightmare grow closer and a new friendship is formed.

<<2 Days Later>>

SD has mixed feelings about Ink building the portal. At the same time, he didn't want Nightmare to leave because he was already attached to him.

<<5 Days Later>>

DS, has the same problem. He just loved the way Nightmare spoke, the way he moved— Just— everything about him is so perfect that he just can't imagine a life without him anymore.

<<Another Month Later>>

Nightmare... was unsure if he wanted to leave or not. On one hand, he loved and enjoyed SD and DS's company, on the other he wanted to see the bad sanses again and see how they were doing. He was split and torn between either and he just couldn't choose between them.  He wanted to stay within both, but even with that, he knew it was impossible.

<<A week later>>

Ink has fixed it and it's time for Nightmare to go. SD and DS watch in distraught as Nightmare looks back at them with a sad expression that they've never seen before. Both were planning something special, and they hoped that Nightmare would accept their feelings towards him.

"Nightmare, I have to tell you something." DS stared at him weirdly before Nightmare hummed to go on.

SD grabbed a flower boquet out of nowhere and presented it to him and said those words. Nightmare's heart melted at the sight.

"Nightmare, I've loved you for a while... and I know its selfish of me to say this, especially since you're already going but... I want to be with you and I want to let the world know you're mine and—"

"Hey! No fair, I was going to say that!" SD was annoyed with DS suddenly interrupting him. Nightmare watched the two comically fight before stepping in, holding both of them with his tentacles by their waists. He lowered them down before giving both of them a kiss on their mouths.

Both of them stared at him dumbfounded.

"Don't worry. This isn't goodbye you idiots. I'll visit, I promise. And you two?" They both perked up and felt happy at his next words, "I love you both, stay safe, I swear I'll come and visit."

"Yeah." SD chuckled, "Goodbye Nightmare."

Nighmare chuckled as well, "No, see you later, you dorks. I'll see you two again."

Since then, the trio have always hung out every other day when Nightmare's gang wasn't looking. They laughed together, and loved each other.
