SD was a terrifying god.

The perfect person whom you'd define as a god. Powerful, feared, praised, worshipped, those things were words that desrcibed him. Even amongst older, speculated to be weaker in comparison to him, gods, he reigned the most feared.

With the snap of his hands, the sun could never come out again, perhaps one morning you'd never know it would be the last time you would ever see the sun. He also had high prowess in battle, skilled with a bow, and being able to snipe down targets with a safe distance.

The only person who could calm him down when he's in deep rage is the god of the moon, but on his off days, it was kind of hellish to deal with SD.

That is, until the annual meeting came. SD arrived late, swooping in with a flashy entrance. Flaunting his wings upon his arrival, the other gods visibly gulped in his presence, and he smirked as he took his seat.

"We are all here now." The god of the moon says, "Let us begin."

Something caught SD's eye, two new gods he had never seen before. Most likely new gods. He took in their appearance a bit more. One had a cape on him, and a staff settled on his belt, he also had something that looked akin to a crown on his head. Once he noticed SD's gaze, he visibly shifted, uncomfortable.

He ignores him and turns to the other god, his eyes widen as he takes in his form. Some would say that this form was hideous, something like those fairytale monsters, but to SD, it wasn't any of that. This god was simply perfect, with four (and possibly more) appendages attached to his back, he had teal eyes, he wasn't wearing any grand clothing just a simple jacket and pants. He also had a crown similar to the other one's.

He ignored whatever was being said in favor of staring at the pretty skeleton from across table. The pretty skeleton turns to look at him, eyebrows raising and visibly turning hostile as SD's gaze lingers on him more.

"Thus, this meeting is effective, to our respective followers and believers," A god drawls on, "And to our fellow gods."

Said meeting was over horrifyingly quick, seeing as in the past it seemed much longer, but time seemed to fly faster when faced with such a beauty.

After the meeting, SD approached the pretty skeleton directly. Standing face to face with the clad skeleton, they were almost the same height with SD being slightly taller than him. He extends a hand, the other stares at it suspiciously.

"Hello darling." He smiles charmingly, "I'm SD, god of the sun and light. Nice to meet you...?"

He didn't seem fazed with his smile, reluctantly extending his hand to shake SD's it was a rather awkward exchange as he remained quiet for the most part.

After a while, he spoke, "...Nightmare."

"Well, a pleasure to meet you, Nightmare." He winked, "I hope we remain excellent companions."

"Kay." He states, and shakes SD's hand off. SD stares in intrigue as Nightmare walks off to the one with the cape, that one's jaw seemed to have fallen to the floor.

"You've never really been interested in new gods, brother." His brother accompanies his side, "Why is this one so unique to you?"

SD chuckles, "You shall find out soon enough brother."

He huffs at his brother's response.

~~~~
A lot of gods were familiar with SD's antics, destroying realms for funs, battling for fun, but never has he gone to the god of nature for flowers of all things.
"...A-are you serious?" She asks.
"Of course I am." He shrugs, "You have any roses, camellias, tulips— literally anything?"
"I do, do you want me to place them in a bouquet?" She asks.
"Yep."
SD waits a little bit before collecting his request, vanishing just as he appeared. The god of nature sighs at him before her loyal companion comes to her.
"Doesn't he usually come for his weapons to be re-fixed by the god of forgery? Why did he come to you?" He asks.
"I'm concerned for the recepient..." She sighs again. "But its not our business to pry, let's continue on to our work."
~~~~

SD giddily skips over to the castle of Nightmares, he had asked a lot of gods where Nightmare lived, and it was a big castle covered with fog and had an aura of negativity surrounding it. He pushes through and knocks slightly on the castle gates.

A hatch opens, an eye peeks out.

"What's the password?" He asks, voice deep and commanding.

At that, SD was stooped. He spoke warily, "And if I get it wrong?"

"Err, I don't know." He can quite literally feel him shrugging behind the gate.

"Uhh, well, I'm actually here to see Nightmare." SD states, "I have a little gift for him."

"Ohh! You're here to see boss!" He says, before SD could hear a click of a lever. The massive gate opens and he could see the inside of the castle. He enters inside, seeing the giant chandelier and grand hall, a throne just in the middle of it all. Fit for a king like Nightmare, SD thought.

As he goes closer, SD could see the figure of the person in question, he smirks. He sits crosslegged, an expression of boredom on his face. No one ever looked— nay, dared to look that way in his presence. It made him feel all the more excited.

"Well, you're looking gorgeous today darling." The skeleton who opened the gates looked at him weirdly before running off with another skeleton.

"Heed your purpose." Nightmare stated, plainly.

"Straight to the point, are we?" SD chuckles, showing off the bouquet of flowers in his hands. It was a mixture of roses and camellias, the bouquet was arranged nicely. SD must commend and reward the god of nature for her work, it was truly beautiful.

"These, my dear, are for you." He approaches the throne, laying the bouquet inches away from the king himself. He steps back as Nightmare inspects the bouquet.

"Hmmm." Nightmare finishes inspecting it, but does not pick it up. "I do not accept it."

SD stares at him dumbfounded. He does not register the order that Nightmare gave a soldier to bring him back outside, as he exits, he stares at Nightmare's forever bored expression. He smirks at it, intriguing was this nightmare, he does not accept the flattery that SD gives him, nor does he acknowledge SD's power and strength over him.

As those thoughts wander, he wonders how Nightmare is like in a fight.

~~~~
He figures it out eventually.
"Fight me."
Nightmare didn't wield a sword or a weapon, using his sheer strength and advantages. Though SD thought he had the upper hand against him, he was oh so dearly wrong. A swift movement and he was on the ground, an appendage next to his neck with Nightmare's powerful and commanding figure right above him.
"Yield."
Someone that could beat the god of the sun and light at his own game, unheard of, impossible. But it happened, he yields and Nightmare takes his appendage out. He scoffs, resting his appendage back on his back.
"I must say, you are..." He drawls on, almost hesitant. "Commendable in battle."
SD beams at the praise, for once, he was okay with being defeated. Just this once, just for a special someone.
~~~~

"Aren't you afraid if SD ever..." Dream says, "You know—" He makes a motion of cutting his neck. Nightmare rolls his eyes.

"My foolish brother, of course I am not." Nightmare says.

"Well, I mean, he is... kind of, in love with you so I guess he won't ever hurt you..." Dream trails off, "But I worry, you know?"

"That wasn't what I meant." Nightmare facepalms.

"Really??"

"Let's just eat dinner already, I won't be talking about my love life to you."

~~~~
"I heard the god of the sun has taken favor of you." Error 404 states.
"Yes, that is true." Nightmare says, taking a sip of his tea.
"Be careful." Error 404 warns, "He has always been an unpredictable figure, he could pretend to be enamoured with you, then stab you in the back later."
"I'll be fine." Nightmare states, "I know he never will."
~~~~

It's already been a few months since SD has meddled himself into his life. He didn't particularly feel as annoyed as he did back in the day, he felt... fondness for the skeleton. Unlike him from a few months ago, he was more... open and happy, as his brother says.

It was almost weird to see how much of Nightmare's routine had changed, in the mornings Nightmare would plan to feed of off human's negativity but now he takes a walk in his garden with SD as they chat upon things that are almost unimportant to most gods.

This routine... was alright.

~~~~
"Enter a courtship with me, and I will make you the happiest." SD declares boldly.
The gang of which Nightmare had taken care of, all stopped to stare at him weirdly. Yep, nothing changed with that, whenever SD had complimented, flirted, or taken Nightmare on dates they would always make gagging noises and look at him weirdly.
Nightmare doesn't skip a beat with his answer, "Okay."
SD beams, taking the skeleton up in his arms and hugging him.
"BOSS?!"
~~~~

They kiss.

It is a fleeting moment for a god, but to them, it meant the world as they embrace and bask in each other's warmth.
