In front of her door, at her request, Elliot gently let her down to stand on her own two feet. She wasted no time in reaching for the lock with the key and soon; it was unlocked and she pushed the door open. Elliot reached down to attempt lifting her up again into his arms, but Gene was quick to stop him.

"You don't need to do that anymore." She declared right away, and he lifted his eyes to her. His lashes fluttered a little lazy.

"Are you sure?" He asked, and she instantly nodded. Elliot pretty much didn't believe her, but it was her decision, so he had no choice but to heed.

He stood straight once more and she made her way into her apartment. Genevieve turned to him, not sure what to say next. She met his eyes and he faintly and briefly smiled at her. He had neither taken a step nor showed any sign that he was leaving. Gene thought for a second and wondered if it was okay to invite him in. After all, he had helped her.

"Would you like to come in?" She offered, and his smile broadened.

"Can I?" He rhetorically asked, before walking in, past her. Gene drew in a deep breath, releasing it at once as she shut the door. She walked up to him, where he stood barely in the living room, as if he'd been waiting for her.

"Can... Can I offer you anything?" She asked, as she felt this was the right thing for her to do.

He gently shook his head and the next few seconds were in awkward silence. Genevieve couldn't match his gaze, so she lowered her eyes and thought about how to escape from the present scene she was in. She couldn't think of anything worthwhile.

"So," he started as he took a few steps closer to her, cutting in half the distance that had them on seemingly opposite ends. "That was your date I saw earlier this evening." He stated rather than questioning and Gene lifted her eyes to him. Something detailed within him made her a little uneasy, so she lowered them once more and gently nodded.

Elliot lowered his head for a second. "He's cool and good-looking, maybe not as good as me, but... he's not bad." He blabbed and wondered why he said it all. Yet, he couldn't stop. His eyes fixated on her, whereas she stared elsewhere.

"Do you like him?"

She raised her eyes to him. His question was unexpected, and she didn't know if she could give him a reply, but she had to say something, so she lowered her eyes once more from him. "I... I don't know. We just met."

"But... he's the type of person you see yourself with, right?" Elliot, stop it. His senses yelled at him, but he was nowhere finished. He hasn't gotten a reply to the question that plagues his mind.

Genevieve sighed uneasily, barely looking up at him. "Elliot..."

"You don't need to answer that." He was quick to interrupt whatever next she had to say. She watched as he lowered his eyes from her. "I'm scared your reply might be a yes and..." he sighed a lot heavier than normal.

She could see something was bothering him. Somehow, deep down, she had an idea, but was not so ready to entertain the thought. Suddenly, his eyes were back on her and he calmly walked up to her, barely setting a good five centimetres between them. At first, Gene stared at him a little wide-eyed and entertained the idea of taking a few steps back, but she could never do it for some odd reason.

"I have to tell you something before it's too late." He pronounced, and she somehow steadied her gaze, waiting to hear what he had to say.

He stared into her eyes as if what he had to say next, he wrote within them. "Earlier, at your parents' home, I... I felt upset when I saw you and the gentleman together." He confessed, and Gene gradually lowered her gaze from his. She hadn't expected to hear him say that. Gene vaguely had an idea where this was heading to and she felt the need to stop it.

She made an attempt to turn away. "Elliot..."

"Wait." He called as he quickly held onto her hand to stop her and immediately pulled her towards him. The moment her hands touched his chest and his hand wrapped around her waist, Gene stared at him with full dilated eyes. She was in his arms. Her heart... it raced a thousand miles and Gene wasn't sure how long she could stay calm.

He stared down at her, a little obvious to her state. His heart raced so much that it felt like it would jump out of his chest soon. He gulped down hard to control himself. He never knew she had this much effect on him.

"You... you feel it, don't you?" His voice was low and hot on her face. She gulped down hard, as she somehow lowed her eyes away from his, yet that was all she could do.

"Push me away if you don't feel the same way as I do... I promise, I'll completely comply to stay away." He added, although deep down, he prayed that wouldn't be the case and that he was right in what he believed they felt together.

Do it. Her head advised but, she was trembling so much within and the fact was, he had much more effect on her than she'd ever presumed. His face drew closer by the second and any little will she had to push him away, lessened by the same second. Soon, their hot breaths were fanning each other as both tried to control their rapid breathing. He brought his hand to her cheek, caressing softly, and that tampered with her senses.

First, his lips gently met with hers and sparks flew, almost like an electrifying feeling. The deeper it got, the more emotional they felt and, for the first time, it felt like they were in the world alone, just the two of them. He grabbed a little tighter onto her, drawing her closer, almost like he wanted her all to himself.

Her thoughts were blank, and all she recognised was this moment. She'd never felt so much all at once. The warmness inside of her, the joy and ecstasy and yet the tiny feeling of knowing the danger it might lead to. Still, Gene couldn't stop. She didn't want to.

Although neither was much into letting go, they slowly and gently let go of the kiss and it was in that moment they took in deeper breaths to replenish the one that was gone. He rested his forehead on hers.

A light chuckle left his lips. The excitement was still in control, like an ecstasy drug. "I was right." He commented in a close whisper.

Gradually, she lifted her eyes to stare into his.

"You felt the same way as I do." He added, happy with his finding and grateful that he got to have this moment with her.

Suddenly, Gene! A voice in her head yelled, and it took some time for her to lower her eyes away from his, drifting her gaze elsewhere.

What am I doing? Her senses were finally back and Gene wasted no time withdrawing herself away from his arms. He stared at her as he hadn't expected that, but her next reaction forced a cute smile to appear on his face.

"Good night." She declared, without lifting her eyes to his, and turned away, hurrying her steps towards her room. The moment she got in, she shut the door and locked it right after.

Gene rested her back on the door and permitted herself to breathe as loud and rapidly as she could. She'd kept her hands on the side of her chest beneath which her heart lay and felt just how unusually it was racing.

That was insane. She was insane!

A knock on the door almost made her retreat in fright.

"Okay, good night... I look forward to seeing you tomorrow." He commented from the other side, and Gene could just imagine him smiling. The sweetness in his voice; it made her insane. She listened carefully and eventually believed he left.

She slumped seated on her bed. Slowly, she barely touched her lips and remembered the kiss they just shared. Gene didn't want to believe it, but could it... could it be that she had really fallen for him?

A sigh escaped her lips as she shut her eyes. She was in so much trouble, wasn't she?
